Purpose: The purposes of this study are as follows: Identifying the types of bullying; describing the relationship among social support, parent-adolescent communication and bullying types; identifying factors influencing the bullying. Method: 374 subjects were 5-6th grade students of two elementary schools in Daejeon. We collected the data from June 10 to October 29, 2002. The data were analyzed by using the frequency, ANOVA, pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression in the SPSS. Result: The 7 % of the subjects were found as bullies and another 23.8 % as victims, while 25.9 % were found as bully-victim group. The number of the victims in peer-support got less than in the normal or bully group. In the correlation analysis, the score of bullies, victims and bully-victim group were reversely-correlated with the social support. The score of victims was reversely-correlated with the mother-adolescent communication. In regression analysis, the social support influenced significant effects on both the bullies and victims. Conclusion: Findings indicated that the health professionals need to identify social support and parent-adolescent communication according to bullying types. Therefore, adequate approaches for the three independent groups of bullying are necessary.

The 127 students who were classified as smart-phone addicts among first to third grade at two middle schools located in Gyunggido were sampled with a survey. T-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used. The results of study were as follows. First, smart-phone addiction make no difference according to adolescent's sex and grade. Second, the relations between smart-phone addiction and the factors included self-control, parent-adolescent communication, and school life satisfaction were negatively correlated. As a result, the higher self-control, parent-adolescent communication, and school life satisfaction were, the lower smart -phone addiction was. Third, it is significant as variable that adverse effect, low rank class of parent-adolescent communication and personal relationship, same class as the former of school life satisfaction exert influence on smart phone addiction.

Research instruments adopted for the study are a comparison between pre-test and post-test regarding S's self-esteem and a measure of dynamic relationship between S and her parents determined by KFD (Kinetic Family Drawing) in pre- and post-tests. The results are as follows. First, family art therapy shows its effect on the runaway middle school girls' self-esteem. Second, family art therapy proves to be effective on child-parent communication. Third, family art therapy displays positive influence on family relations.
This study examined the characteristics of early child care teachers and the ways this influences their abilities to promote the parent-teacher partnerships. 266 early child care teachers participated in this study. Parent-teacher partnerships, communication competence, interpersonal competence, and teacher efficacy in enlisting parental involvement were measured by means of The Caregiver-Parent Partnership Scale, Global Interpersonal Communication Competence Scale, Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire and selected elements of the Teacher Self-efficacy Scale. The results indicated that parent-teacher partnerships were significantly different in terms of the characteristics of teachers. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that the communication competence, interpersonal competence, and teacher self-efficacy significantly predicted the type and quality of parent-teacher partnerships. In conclusion, improving the effectiveness of parent-teacher partnerships seems heavily dependent upon the quality and personal abilities an beliefs of early child care teachers.
The purpose of this study was to discriminate important variables among general self-efficacy, peer attachment, and parent-child communication that could predict internalizing problems(anxiety, depression) of Korean children of divorce. The participants were 101 children aged from 10 to 13. They completed questionnaires and discriminant function analyses were performed. The results showed that (a) the discriminant function derived from 3 variables was effective in classifying high, moderate, and low group of children's anxiety and depression, (b) parent-child communication plays a key role in predicting anxiety and general self-efficacy plays a key role in predicting depression of Korean children of divorce, (c) but peer attachment plays a significant role only to predict depression. This means that anxiety and depression of Korean children of divorce result from different kind of interactions among children's important contexts.
Purpose: This study was conducted as a descriptive research to identify relationships among parent-adolescent communication, self-efficacy and nursing professionalism in nursing students. Methods: The participants were 106 nursing college students in Chungchung Province in Korea. Data were collected from December 1 to 31, 2016, analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using IBM SPSS statistics version 21. Results: Parent-adolescent communication was positively correlated with self-efficacy (r=.44, p<.001), and nursing professionalism (r=.30, p=.002), while self-efficacy was positively correlated with nursing professionalism (r=.42, p<.001). Parent-adolescent communication and nursing professionalism explained 29.0% of self-efficacy. Parent -adolescent communication and self-efficacy explained 19.5% of nursing professionalism. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest an empowerment program of parent-adolescent communication should be developed to provide valuable baseline data to counsel students who are developing self-efficacy and nursing professionalism in nursing curriculum.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relative effect of individual-, parents-, and game-related variables on game addiction. Totally, 1065 10 to 18-year-olds participated and completed questionnaires. Male students had more tendency to game addition than female students. No difference in the level of addiction, however, was appeared among elementary, junior-high, and high school groups, which means that many young children are already Same-addicted. More severely addicted children and adolescents showed higher level of impulsivity, more difficulties in communication with their parents, and more expectation of psychological gratification and interpersonal relationship through the internet games. The relative effects of these independent variables to game addiction were different among gender*school groups. Firstly, impulsivity was significant only in boys of elementary group. Secondly, for the junior-high group, communication with father and mother was important to boys and girls, repectively. Lastly, expected gratification from gaming itself mainly predicted high school students' game addiction, irrespective of gender. The findings of this study suggest that earlier intervention to young garners should be carried out. It is also indicated that parents' and teachers' role for guidance of the internet games would be different with children's gender and developmental stages.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the relationships among parent-child communication, self-esteem and sexual assertiveness for male and female university students. Methods: This descriptive study used a comparative survey design that utilized self-report questionnaires. A total of 470 participants were male and female university students in B metropolitan city. Results: The degree of open communication use was higher for female students in comparison to male students, There were no differences in dysfunctional communication for both the father-child communication. There were no differences between males and females for the mother-child communication either. The degree of self-esteem was higher for male students in comparison to the female students. The degree of sexual assertiveness was higher for female students in comparison to the male students. The grade, religion, major, allowance source, marital status of parents, and relationship experience with opposite sex were influencing factors for the male students' sexual assertiveness whereas the individual's major and physical contact were influencing factors for the female students. Conclusion: Self-esteem and mother-child open communication were influencing factors of sexual assertiveness. Thus, the nursing intervention based on the influencing factors is needed in order for male and female students to express sexual assertiveness.
Purpose: This study was done to examine the relationship between sexual permissiveness, family function and parent-adolescent communication among adolescents. Method: A descriptive correlation approach was used and the participants were 956 male and female students. Data were collected by questionnaire survey using convenience sampling. The instruments were the Family APGAR Questionnaire by Smilkstein(1978), PAC by Olson and Barnes(1982), and the Premarital Sexual Permissiveness Questionnaire by Reiss(1967). Data were analyzed using the SPSS 10.0 program with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: Family function was significant according to school record, economic status, living arrangement of parent. Parent-Adolescent Communication was significant according to religion, economic status, having a boy/girl friend, and experience of sexual intercourse. Sexual permissiveness was significant for all except economic status. Correlation among the variables showed that parent-adolescent communication was negatively correlated to sexual permissiveness(r=-.127, p=.000) and positively to family function(r=.368, p=.000). Conclusion: The findings suggest that parent-adolescent communication and family function are associated with sexual permissiveness, and the findings of this study are expected to make a contribution to creating an ideal sexual culture for youth.
The present study explored effects of significance of study, pressure for study, and pressure for success on life satisfaction of adolescents, and moderating effect of parent-adolescent communication. Participants were 1,384 adolescents in elementary, middle, and high school, and they responded all the questionnaires by themselves. Results were as follows. Firstly, there were significant differences in extent of significance of study, pressure for study and success, parent-adolescent communication, and life satisfaction of adolescents according to their demographic variables. Secondly, the more they got significance on study, and the more their parents emphasized study and success, the lower their life satisfaction was. Finally, there was a moderating effect of parent-adolescent communication. As adolescents had a positive communication with their parents, the negative effects for the significance of study and pressure for study and success on their life satisfaction were lessened.
