칼로리미터의 재생 냉각유로 설계

  • 액체로켓 엔진의 분사기와 연소실 설계에 사용될 재생냉각형 칼로리미터의 냉각유로를 설계하였다. 사용할 펌프의 수두는 5기압이며 이로써 끓는점 아래에서 작동할 수 있고 동시에 넓은 냉각 면적을 가지는 유로의 형상을 결정하였다. 유로에서의 압력강하와 온도분포는 전산유동해석에 의하여 구하였고 열부하는 기존의 연소 해석과 1차원해석에 의한 결과를 적용하였다. 해석결과로서 유로의 폭이 4mm에서 2.5mm까지 2단계로 줄었다가 다시 2단계로 늘어나는 냉각유로를 설계하였으며 이 때 높이는 2mm로 일정하게 유지하였다. 유량 변화에 의한 레이놀즈 수는 1.9$\times$$10^4$, 2.4$\times$$10^4$, 2.9$\times$$10^4$이며 세 경우 모두 주어진 펌프수두 이내의 압력강하를 보였으나 온도상승과 성능상의 여유를 고려하여 레이놀즈 수 2.4$\times$$10^4$인 경우를 최종 설계안으로 결정하였다.

Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow in a Regenerative Cooling Passage (재생냉각 유로 내의 유동에 관한 수치해석)

  • A computational analysis has been made on fluid flow in a regenerative cooling Passage for a reduced size liquid rocket engine to predict pressure drop and heat transfer rate in it. The contraction/expansion of the cross sectional area of the passage turn out to increases both the pressure loss and the heat transfer rate of the duct. The changes of the cross sectional area near the nozzle throat are effective to protect the throat which suffers from severe thermal load. Also given is the qualitative characteristics of the performance of the regenerative cooling system due to the variation of coolant flow rate.

  • An experimental study on performance characteristics of an evaporative heat exchanger based on tests for various operating conditions was presented. The heat exchanger maximizes the heat transfer rate per unit volume by applying mini-channels for both the air and coolant flow paths, and minimizes the amount of the coolant by using its latent heat of evaporation. The heat exchanger was manufactured by etching the flow paths, brazing the heat exchange plates, and welding the in/out ports of the media. The basic performance test has confirmed that the heat exchanger met its design requirements, and the results of the map test were analyzed to produce the performance characteristics quantitatively depending on the air inlet temperature, the air flow rate, and the coolant flow rate.

  • The dead-end anode (DEA) system is a method that closes the anode outlet and supplies fuel by pressure. The DEA method could improve fuel usage and power efficiency through system simplification. However, flooding occurs due to water and nitrogen back diffusion from the cathode to the anode during the DEA operation. Flooding is a cause of decreased fuel cell performance and electrode degradation. Therefore, tthe structure and components of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) should be optimized to prevent anode flooding during DEA operation. In this study, the effect of a porous flow field with metal foam on fuel cell performance and fuel efficiency improvement was investigated in the DEA system. As a result, fuel cell performance and purge interval were improved by effective water management with a porous flow field at the cathode, and it was confirmed that cathode flow field structure affects water back-diffusion. On the other hand, the effect of the porous flow field at the anode on fuel cell performance was insignificant. Purge interval was affected by metal foam properties and shown stable performance with large cell size metal foam in the DEA system.

  • A vacuum brazed cooling passage for an aircraft engine controller was designed. In order to predict the total pressure loss, which is the main design factor of the cooling passage, theoretical and numerical methods for the major loss and the minor loss considering the overall shape of the cooling passage are presented. This design and evaluation method can predict the pressure loss of the complex cooling passage shape for various flow conditions at the initial design step.

  • A numerical model which can analyze the flow and bed topography characteristics of a single bend and continuous one was suggested using the equations of mass, momentum, the vertical distribution of secondary flow, and the transverse bed slope. The calculated flow and bed topography characteristic values were compared with the experimental data in a single bend, and the predicted path of maximum streamwise velocity in continuous bends also compared with the Vadnal and Chang's data. The comparisons gave good results. A curved channel with 180 degrees was used. Sand and anthracite were selected as bed materials in the movable bed experiments. The model application of this model to the sand bed and the anthracite one accorded well with the observed values in the experiments. This model was proved to be useful for predicting the flow and bed topography with the change of bed materials. The results of this research could be used to construct and control curved channels as a fundamental information.mation.

  • 수제는 비용 대비 높은 효율을 가지는 수공 구조물로 하천과 해안에 많이 이용된다. 수제는 하천에서 식생물의 서식처, 유량 확보, 하천시설 보호 등의 목적으로 설치되며 해안에서는 해안선보호, 수심 확보 등의 다양한 목적으로 설치된다. 수제는 일반적으로 넓은 영역을 제어할 수 있도록 여러개의 군수제 형태로 설치한다. 수제설치 시 기존 하도나 수로의 흐름에 교란이 일어나는데 본류부에서는 하폭이 좁아져 수제선단부에 의한 영향으로 높은 유속이 발생되며 수제역내에서는 재순환흐름과 함께 다양한 형태의 유속분포가 형성된다. 이러한 수제에 의한 흐름은 수제 선단부의 영향으로 발생하는 흐름분리선(Separation Layer)을 기준으로 흐름중심선(Talweg Line)과 흐름분리영역(Separation area)을 만들어내며 수제역내의 재순환영역에서 완화된 유속은 제방을 침식으로부터 보호하며 식생물의 서식처를 제공한다. 기존의 연구는 대부분 단일수제에 대한 연구가 수행되었으며 연속된 군수제에 대한 연구는 다소 제한된 조건에서 수행되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 연속된 수제가 설치된 경우 수리실험을 통해 수제주변의 흐름 변화 특성을 분석하였다. 수리실험은 30.0m(L')×1.52m(B')×1.10m(H')의 직선 개수로에 050m(l)×0.10m(b)×0.25m(h)의 수제를 수로측면을 따라 연속적으로 배열하여 설치하였다. 실험은 수심, 유량, 수제설치간격을 변화시키면서 수행했으며 마그네틱유속계를 사용해서 수제의 영향을 받지 않으며 벽면의 영향이 가장 적은 수로상류의 중앙지점에서 접근유속을 측정했다. 표면유속을 취득하기 위해 일반디지털카메라로 FHD(1920×1080) 해상도를 가진 영상을 각각의 조건마다 10~20분 촬영했다. 촬영된 영상을 연속된 정지영상으로 변환하고 영상해석 프로그램을 이용하여 표면유속을 도출했다. 표면영상유속계를 활용하여 도출한 결과로 각각 조건에 따라 발생하는 최대유속과 최대역방향유속, 와도(vorticity), 흐름중심선과 단면유속분포의 변화와 발생 위치를 분석했다.

  • A flow channel shape of PEMFC has an influence on the internal flow uniformity. If the reactant distribution in a flow path is not uniform during operation, both catalyst deactivation and mechanical damage of membrane could occur resulting in decreasing the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) durability. Numerous studies concerning flow design have been conducted to make smooth supply and uniform distribution of reactants in fuel cells. The baffle of flow path could improve fuel cell performance through the forced convection effect. A sub-channel, as an additional air flow path, could increase the reactant concentration and reduce the mass transfer loss via a smooth water discharge. In this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used to analyze the effect of blocks and sub-channels on the current density and oxygen concentration of the fuel cell. As a result, the limit current density and oxygen concentration at a rear block increased when using blocks and sub-channels in a flow channel. In particular, the current density increased significantly when the sub-channel was placed between two blocks. Also, the sub-channel position was optimized by analyzing the oxygen concentration, and the oxygen concentration was recovered at a rear block in the fuel cell.

단상 열사이폰 루프의 작동특성에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 단상 밀폐 사각형 열사이폰 루프에서 가열부는 일정 열유속으 로 가열되고 냉각부는 일정온도로 냉각될 경우에 대해 루프 경사각도, 종횡비, 작동유 체 종류 및 관 직경변화에 대한 유동 및 온도변동 특성과 이에따른 전열성능 및 안정 작동범위를 실험적으로 조사하였다.

Anterior Spacing and Crowding in the Primary Dentition in Hwaseong City : A Preliminary Study (화성시 거주 유치열기 어린이의 전치부 치간 공극과 총생에 대한 예비연구)

  • The aim of this study was to assess the spacing and crowding of the anterior teeth in the primary dentition in Hwaseong city. Photographs of the anterior segment of 237 children satisfied the criteria. The presence of primate spaces and developmental spaces was assessed by the proximal contacts. Physiologic spacing was observed in 47.3% and 38.0% of the cases in the upper and lower arches, respectively. 43.5% showed the presence of two-segment contact or crowded dentition. Physiologic spacing was observed more in boys than in girls. In the maxilla, primate space was more frequent than developmental space; however, in the mandible, the difference was low. In the maxilla, the space between the central incisor and the lateral incisor was more frequent than the space between both central incisors. In contrast, in the mandible, the space between both central incisors was more common than the space between the central and lateral incisors or between the lateral incisors and canine. The present study describes the tendency for anterior spacing and crowding in the primary dentition. Further longitudinal studies with a larger sample are needed. Dentists should consider these concepts of spacing or contact/crowding when performing full coronal restorations of primary anterior teeth.
