병렬 운동 기구의 미끄럼 볼 조인트 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Sliding Ball Joint of Parallel Kinematic Mechanism)

  • Parallel Kinematic Mechanism (PKM) is a device to perform the various motion in three-dimensional space and it calls for six degree of freedom. For example, Parallel Kinematic Mechanism is applied to machine tools, medical equipments, MEMS, virtual reality devices and flight motion simulators. Recently, many companies have tried to develop new Parallel Kinematic Mechanism in order to improve the cycle time and the precisional tolerance. Parallel Kinematic Mechanism uses general universal joint and spherical joint, but such joints have accumulated tolerance problems. Therefore, it causes position control problem and dramatically life time reduction. This paper focused on the rolling element to improve sliding precision in new sliding ball joint development. Before the final design and production, it was confirmed that new sliding ball joint held a higher load and a good geometrical structure. FEM analysis showed a favorable agreement with tensile and compressive testing results by universal testing machine. In conclusions, a new sliding ball joint has been developed to solve a problem of accumulated tolerance and verified using tensile and compressive testing as well as FEM analysis.

자동차 서스펜션용 볼 시트 사출성형품 개발 (Development of the Injection Molded Ball Seat for Automobile Suspension)

  • Injection molding process is one of the popular manufacturing methods to produce plastic parts with high efficiency and low cost. Ball seat for automobile suspension is made by an injection molding process as a part to support pivot function of ball joint consisted of ball stud and housing. It is necessary for a ball seat to have a dimensional stability in the three dimensional inner area to be contacted with ball stud. In this paper, the dimensional stability of inner surface is indirectly analyzed by checking the difference of inner diameter around the circumferential direction and the thickness variation at the top part of ball seat. Measurement was performed by using the coordinate measuring machine and the fixture to hold ball seat. Optimization of injection molding processes such as injection time, cooling time and temperatures of cylinder barrel was derived to reduce the difference of inner diameter and the thickness variation at the top part of ball seat based on the Taguchi method.

  • 본 연구는 소형 캐릭터의 다양한 관절운동을 선형제어를 통해 재현하기 위한 다관절 구조를 논의한다. 최소 동력원으로 복수 관절부를 제어하여 다양한 동세를 표현하기 위해 개별 관절구조를 설계하고 3D 프린팅을 통해 제작한다. 형상 변형 및 다자유도 확보를 위한 볼 조인트 형식을 적용하여 캐릭터의 다양한 운동성을 논의한다. 3D 프린팅 적용 시 구동 특성을 재현하기 위해 구조별 설계와 소재별 프린팅 운영 특성을 기술함으로써 효과적인 관절구조 설계와 3D 프린팅의 연계 방법을 찾고자한다.

  • 항공기 등에 사용되는 Flexible PTO(Power Take-Off) 샤프트는 스프링 특성을 좋게 하기 위해 여러장의 얇은 멤브레인을 용접한 형태로 1950년대에 이미 개발됐으며, AMAD(Aircraft Mounted Accessory Drive) 기어박스와 EMAD(Engine Mounted Accessary Drive) 기어박스 사이에서 회전동력을 전달한다. 이런 종류의 샤프트는 가볍고 특히 스프링 특성이 좋기 때문에 축 정렬이 틀어진 고속회전 상태에서도 안정적으로 회전동력을 전달할 수 있어 대부분의 전투기에 사용된다. 이번 연구에서 티타늄 합금으로 개발된 Flexible PTO 샤프트의 구조해석을 통해 제품의 안전성을 확인하였고, 실제 실험실에서 진행된 고속회전 시험에서 굽힘과 비틀림 부하를 동시에 인가하여 샤프트의 고주기 피로에 대한 내성을 실증하였다. 또한, 고주기 피로 시험 조건에서 항공기용 볼 조인트의 마모 특성 분석을 통해 수명을 예측하였다.

  • Durability of rubber dust cover in the ball joint for automotive suspension parts were analyzed by FEM and compared with experimental data. Upper open area of ball joint is sealed by dust cover for preventing outflow of the lubricating oil and intrusion of send, dust, water, etc. This rubber cover undergoes repeated loadings such as tension and compression while the car is running. Analysis about rubber material needs to consider every kinds of nonlinearities arise in finite element analysis, which are geometric nonlinearity due to large displacement and small strain, materially nonlinearity and nonlinear boundary condition such as contact. So in the study, the deformation behavior of dust cover was analysed by using the commercial finite element program MARC. This program could solve these kinds of nonlinear analysis accurately. Finite element model of dust cover is considered as 3-dimensional half model based on 2-dimensional axisymmetric model. Material property of rubber was modeled by Ogden model and input data for calculation takes form uniaxial tension test of rubber specimen, The final object of the study is obtaining the design specification of dust covers and the result of analysis should be a useful data to design of rubber

  • The preform design in metal forging plays a key role in improving product quality, such as ensuring defect-free property and proper metal flow. In industry, preforms are generally designed by the iterative trial-and-error approach, but this approach leads not only to significant tool cost but also to the down-time of the production equipment. It is thus necessary to reduce the time and the man-power through an effective method of perform design. In this paper, the equi-potential lines designed in the electric field are introduced to find the preform shape. The equi-potential lines obtained by the arrangement of the initial and final shapes are utilized for the design of the preform, and then applied for obtaining a fine preform in the foging process of the ball-joint socket.

  • 패키징 구조의 발전이 점차 중요한 문제로 대두되어, 칩의 집적 기술의 발전에 따라 실장기술에서도 고속화, 소형화, 미세피치화, 고정밀화, 고밀도화가 요구되고있다. 최근 선진국을 중심으로 전자 전기기기 및 부품의 실장기술에서도 환경 친화적인 기술을 요구함에 따라, 저에너지 공정 및 무연 실장 기술에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 기존의 SOP(Small Out-line Package), QFP(Quad Flat Package) 등은 소형화, 다핀화, 고속화, 실장성에 한계가 있기 때문에, SMT(Surface Mount Technology) 형식으로 된 BGA(Ball Grid Array)가 휴대형 전화를 비롯한 기타 전자 부품 실장에 널리 사용되고 있다. BGA ball shear 법은 BGA 모듈의 생산 및 취급 중에 발생할지도 모르는 기판에 수평으로 작용하는 기계적인 전단력에 BGA solder ball이 견딜 수 있는 정도를 측정하기 위해 사용되는 시험법이다. 전단 시험에 의한 전단 강도의 측정 외에 전기전도도 측정, 파면 관찰, 이동거리(displacement), 유한요소 해석법 등을 병행하여 시험법의 신뢰성 향상에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 실험에서는 지름이 $500{\mu}m$인 Sn-3.5Ag 솔더볼을 이용하여 세라믹 기판을 접합하여 BGA 패키지를 완성하였다. 상부 기판에 솔더볼을 정렬시켜 리플로우 방법으로 접합 한 후 솔더볼이 접합된 상부 기판과 하부 기판을 접합 하여 시편을 제작하였다. 접합된 시편들은 $150^{\circ}C$에서 0~800시간 열처리를 실시하였고, 열처리를 하면서 각각 $3{\times}10^2A/cm^2,\;5{\times}10^3A/cm^2$의 전류를 인가하였다. 시편들을 전단 시험기를 이용하여 솔더볼의 기계적 특성 평가를 하였으며, 계면 반응을 관찰하였다.

표면 거칠기를 고려한 볼 조인트 접촉의 미세 탄성유체윤활 해석 (Micro-EHL Analysis of a Ball Joint Contact with Surface Roughness)

  • The effect of surface texture on elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) point contact of a ball Joint mechanism in small reciprocating compressors is studied numerically by using multigrid method. Pressure and film thickness profiles have been calculated for surface roughness with waviness of different orientations and transverse ridge and dent at minimum and maximum Hoes M parameter conditions. The influence of the amplitude and the wavelength of the surface roughness was also studied. Results show that the oblique waviness with orientation angle of 30$^{\circ}$generates the smallest minimum film thickness as compared with those of longitudinal, transverse, and other oblique roughness. The influence of transverse waviness on the minimum film thickness is smaller than for the longitudinal waviness case.

Weiss형 등속조인트 볼 홈의 접촉응력평가 (Contact Stress Evaluations for the Ball Groove of Weiss Type Constant velocity joint)

  • For the life prediction and fatigue failure prevention of the constant velocity joint, the maximum equivalent stress and its location in depth from the contact area are essential. These values give the fundamental information to determine the depth of the surface hardening treatment at the contact area. Contact stresses are evaluated at the surface and subsurface of the ball groove of the Weiss type constant velocity joint. The maximum contact pressure and the maximum equivalent stress are obtained. The effects of various parameters such as the radius of ball groove, friction coefficient, and residual stress are studied. The maximum equivalent stress and the maximum contact pressure increase as the radius of the ball grove increases. The location of the maximum equivalent stress moves toward surface as the friction coefficient increases. It was also found that the maximum equivalent stress becomes minimum when the compressire residual stress is about 0.16 times of the maximum contact pressure.
