A Study on the Modal Analysis of Hybrid Vertical Grinding System Bed (수직형 복합 연삭시스템 베드의 동특성 해석에 관한 연구)

  • Machine tools are the cores of industrial development in recent period. It is difficult to develop a system which can do cutting and grinding process in the one system. Hybrid Vertical Grinding System is capable of processing in a single apparatus cutting or grinding. The modal analysis and structural analysis for the development of Hybrid Vertical Grinding System is the first time of domestic work. In this study, Hybrid Vertical Grinding System bed was designed and analyzed by using SS401 and FC300 as materials. And by using Finite Element Methods, the design and material of the bed was analysed. Finally, we can make a better choice of structure and material of the bed by comparing the analysis results.

  • This study evaluated the structural safety of a heavy-duty integrated machine for grinding wheel forming. Structural analysis was performed to evaluate the structural safety of the base. The base was designed by dividing the single base and detachable base. The analysis conditions were applied to the own weight and the load of component parts. From the structural analysis results, although the stress of the detachable base was decreased, the amount of deformation was increased. If the deformation of the detachable base decreases, it is expected to be safer than the single base.

Fretting Wear Test of Inconel 690 Tubes Employing Piezoelectric Actuator (압전 구동기를 이용한 인코넬 690 튜브의 프레팅 마멸시험)

  • A fretting wear test rig for dry ambient condition, which employs a piezoelectric actuator, has been developed. It is driven and loaded in a very simple manner with acceptable experimental accuracy. By using the rig, Inconel 690 tube has been tested under the normal load of 10 and 15N with sliding amplitude of less than $100{\mu}m$ during $10^6$cycles. The wear resistance of the material has been characterized in terms of the wear coefficient based on the work rate model. SEM micrographs show the complex structures of the scars, which consist of risen peaks, plate-type thin layers and locally exposed bare surfaces. The cracks spread over the layers give clue to the fretting wear mechanism of the material.
