A Study on the Character of Architectural Planning of Ward in the resently Built Patient-centered Hospitals (최근 한국에 건립된 혼자 중심적 병동부의 건축계획적 특징에 관한 연구)

  • A syudy on hospital architecture was as a circulation effective work as most amount and function at the view of nurse, staff until now. The architect do not have a data about planning patient-centered hospital, do not reflect a demand of patient at the planning step. This study arrange what is concept of patient-centered, recently concept of patient-centered hospital is importantly raised, at centering around a ward that a life of patient is the most influenced. This study make clear character of patient-centered hospital at home, the problem and demand of patient through the P.O.E.

  • The activation of operation department can be defined as man power, the space, energy and organization in the operation department. In this paper, we clarified the activation index of operation department and verified the relation between the activation index and the management index related to in patients. In addition, we studied the effect of the activation index on the construction and management of the operation department. As a result, we can find the followings. 1. The number of operation as the activation index of operation department regardless of the size of hospitals in Japan is smaller than in Korea and Taiwan. 2. Based on the study of the correlation between the activation index and the operation index connected to inpatient, it is found the activation of operation department is affected by average lengh of stay of inpatient. 3. It is found that plan of operation has been practically made on the basis of the number of beds. Howerver, the activation index of operation department should be utilized on the basis of the number of operation.

The concept of patient-centered was disregarde, when the hospital was planned, in spite of being aimed hospital. At home, the shape of ward did not be developed, did not be corresponded with a demand of patient. But now proposition, which is satisfied psychologic, physical, mental demand, should be attempted.

  • Although Medical Care System pays medical fee for each patients with the establishment of National Medicare System, patients cannot be equally benefited from hospitals. At present, the Korean government provides minimum requirements on medical facilities in enforcement of medical law, but it is not enough to guarantee the rights of patients. The purpose of this study is in search for the way to improve the minimum requirements of ward which will be needed to examine the present situation of general hospitals, to find out their problems, and to compare the law of medical facilities in korea.

  • Corresponding to the change of the environment of oriental medicine, oriental medicine hospital in today is adjusting between the specific element of oriental medicine and the systematic application of occidental medicine hospital. According to this situation, this study aims to represent the material of the architectural planning of the the oriental medicine hospital. As its method, including the concept of the cooperative examination and treatment between oriental and occidental medicine hospital, the circulation of the patient and staff, and the type of the plane figure of the outpatient department are estimated.

  • The evaluation of economy of wards is based on the building area. The parameters are nursing area per bed, occupied area per patient, and the portion of movement area. Three areas such as patient area, nurse area, and corridor area are devided. The results of analysis are as follows. At first, allocation of patient area has the highest priority. Even though nurse area is small, the patient area is relatively large. Secondly, the patient area is mostly determined by the type of rooms, such as single, double, etc.. Finally, the type of alley on the floor is important to economy. The single corridor type is the most economical followed by the double corridor type. the single loaded type shows the worst economy.

  • This study was proceeded as follows. Firstly, the plan type of the ward of korean hospitals does not correspond to team nursing method, but that contains this. So, therefore there are many problems that are inefficiency, unhumane nursing and so forth. To expel these, the method of team nursing in existing hospitals was checked out and compared to that of foreign hospitals. The new type of plan of ward was accentuated to be accepted in the process of designing for team nursing. Secondly, the concept of designing ward is progressing to the patient-centered philosophy. And so, the demands of inpatients and their lifestyle in ward are significant. Therefore, inpatients were interviewed and their answers were analized and their behavior was surveyed in bahavioral maps and analized. Their demands and lifestyle are accentuated to be accepted in the process of designing wards.

LDR/P in department of delievery is also introduced in our country as medical demands expands.   • As the population of the elderly increases drastically year by year in Korea, this phenomenon is being a serious problem because of the increasing speed not having been showed ever all over the world. This thesis would propose the space organizing features for well-organized dementia hospital focused on the public living space. The way arranging each function is very important because values of the physical and functional accessibility have a wide range of value as each type of facility. Moreover, if the arranged function unit is the same as the territory of the space, it could be a good guideline on architectural planning.
