  • Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) is a surgical method that has recently been conducted in widely irrepairable rotator cuff tears with pseudoparalysis, cuff tear arthropathy, and osteoarthritis of the shoulder joint. Several topics can be described, but this review article provides an opinion on the criteria for the choice of implant in RTSA.

  • In case of crude oil tanker, loading condition must be satisfied MARPOL damage stability criteria (Reg.28). But some specific demands are hard to content the criteria. So, it takes a lot of time and efforts to make loading condition reflecting these demands. In this study, PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) is used to make loading condition to be satisfied the criteria. Study result is applied 'CROSSWAY (160,000 DWT Crude Oil Tanker)' in NAPA. The result shows that satisfy the criteria and other constraints and limitation.

  • 하천은 다양하게 분류되고 다양한 식물, 동물, 어류 등이 살아가고 있는 서식처이다. 이러한 하천의 환경 상태를 판단하고 진단하기 위해 올바르게 하천을 평가할 방법이 필요하다. 국내에서는 1910년대부터 1940년대 중반까지의 하천사업은 수력발전을 위한 대규모 댐 개발과 평야지대 관개를 위한 저수지 축조 등 이수사업에 치중하였다. 이후 1960년대부터 1970년대에는 도시와 공단의 개발, 교통, 수자원, 상하수도, 전력 등 사회간접자본의 집중적인 개발을 하였다. 여기서 하천에 초점을 맞추면 하천변의 치수를 위한 하천개수 사업, 그리고 도시화에 따른 도시 소하천의 복개를 들 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 도시화와 산업화는 하천의 오염과 함께 하천의 인공화라는 바람직하지 못한 결과를 가져왔다. 대부분의 도시하천은 직선화되고 높은 콘크리트제방과 콘크리트호안공, 무분별한 하천변의 개발 등으로 인한 황폐화되고 더 이상 하천을 이용할 수 없게 되었다. 국내 하천의 건강성을 평가하기 위한 수많은 하천평가방법들이 연구되었다. 대표적으로 '우리나라 중소하천 코리도의 자연성 평가기법 연구'(조용현, 1997), 생태환경복원을 위한 하천자연도평가 기준에 과한 연구(김동찬 박익수, 1999), 수생태계 건강성 조사 및 평가의 서식수변환경 평가(환경부, 2008) 등이 연구되어 왔으며, 몇몇 평가방법들은 많은 프로젝트에 사용되어 국내 하천의 자연성을 보여주고 있다. 많은 평가방법은 각각의 평가방법과 평가기준을 가지고 하천을 평가하고 있다. 하지만 이 많은 평가방법들의 평가기준, 평가결과 가 하천환경의 상태를 파악하고 진단할 수 있는지에 대한 연구가 전무한 상태이다. 우리나라에서 자연도 평가에 대해 연구를 시작한 것은 90년대 이후였다. 지금까지는 많은 연구와 프로젝트가 진행되어 왔지만 다양한 평가방법들에 대한 비교연구가 없었다. 다기능 하천실험사업(한국건설기술연구원, 2007, 2008)에서 LAWA를 이용해 하천의 물리적 평가를 하고 물리적 구조항목간의 상관분석, 저서성 대형 무척추 동물과 하천 물리적 구조의 상관분석, 식물과 하천 물리적 구조의 상관분석을 실시한 적은 있지만 서로 다른 하천의 물리적 평가방법을 가지고 비교연구를 실시한 적은 없다. 때문에 국내 하천의 물리적 평가 중 어떤 방법이 국내 하천의 현황을 잘 판단하고 있는지, 객관적으로 평가하는지, 복원계획을 수립할 때 효과적인 복원방안을 제시하는지 연구할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 국내 하천 자연도 평가 방법을 살펴보고 평가항목의 적합성을 도출하고자 하였으며, 하천 자연도 평가항목의 중요도를 선정하여 하천 실무자들이 간편하게 사용할 수 있는 실용적인 방법을 제시하고자 하였다.

A Study on the Safe Transportation of a Non-Standardized Cargo (Steel Box) for General Cargo Ships (일반화물선에서 비표준화물(철재상자)의 안전한 운송을 위한 고찰)

  • The "Standard on Cargo Stowage and Securing" implemented to safely stow and secure the cargo of international shipping vessels and domestic car ferries, has also been applied to general cargo ships transported between domestic ports since J anuary 2018. As a result, a new type of cargo, such as a non-standardized steel box transported by general cargo ships to major ports in Korea from Jeju Island in Korea, must be factored as the method of safe stowage and securing according to the legal classification of cargo. This study analyzed the legal status of a steel box by analyzing the actual size, shape of steel box through field verification, collection of data from relevant agencies and finally proposed the methods of safe stowage and securing for a steel box in the cargo holds of general cargo ships. According to the relevant domestic laws and international regulations, steel boxes could be classified as pallette boxes with protective outer packing, a type of non-standardized cargo. Additionally, when a steel box is loaded into the cargo hold of general cargo ships, a method of loading and transporting them must be factored so that there is no gap in the cargo hold of ships. Verification of the safety of the tightly loading and transportation measures in the reviewed cargo hold was verified through safety of the hull structure and securing of the ship's stability. As a result of verification of the safety of the hull structure, the value of the structural strength on both sides and the floor of the cargo hold for the total weight of cargo that can be loaded in the cargo hold was satisfied, and the value of the ship's stability was satisfied with the value of GoM and the restoration of the three cross-sectional stability curve areas.

  • Currently, with the rapid development of the digital age, multimedia-related image devices become popular. However, images are susceptible to corruption in processing image data due to the impulse noise and active researches have been conducted to restore these images. This paper, in order to restore the damaged images in impulse noise environments, suggested an image restoration algorithm which applies weights depending on spatial distance between directionality and pixel by focusing on damaged pixels. Additionally, this algorithm was compared with existing methods by using the PSNR (peak signal to noise ratio) as the objective standard to judge whether there were improved effects.

  • In the middle of motorization, the traffic problems become serious social problems in Korea. The walking environment is not only a topic which restores the community spirit of a city or society but also a lever which renovates the future space of the city environment-friendly. Thus, the Purpose of this study is to suggest the new criteria of walkway level of service adopting the concepts of safety. convenience, comfort, environment, security, and continuity in addition to present pedestrian flow rate, and to provide basic data for walkway plan in Korea. In order to analyze the adequacy of the present walkway level of service criteria, the walkways of which service levels were A, C, E according to USHCM were selected as study walkways, and an interview surrey was conducted to compare the three service levels with those that pedestrians evaluate actually. Also, another interview survey was conducted to analyze the service conditions and satisfaction level at the walkways of high service levels(A and B). For the establishment of more reasonable walkway level of service criteria. the survey of pedestrian\`s consciousness for walkway service was conducted. Based on the survey results, the new criteria for the evaluation of walkway service were selected and the six levels of service for each criterion was analyzed: so the comprehensive criteria of walkway level of service were suggested.

  • Airplane Buhwal is the first light airplane which is designed and made in South Korea. Restoration of airplane Buhwal is designed based on the one made by Korean Airforce in 2004 but there are some changes also. It uses aluminum main wing, electronic indicator, BRS(Ballistic recovery parachute) and black box for improved performance. In this paper, for the restorated Buhwal, major design changes are introduced, structure, aerodynamic and stability analysis are reviewed and improved performances which is proven through flight test are shown. This study will be a big help for domestic light airplane development.

  • The structured-light 3D reconstruction technique uses a coded-pattern to find correspondences between the camera image and the projector image. To calculate the 3D coordinates of the correspondences, it is necessary to calibrate the camera and the projector. In addition, the calibration results affect the accuracy of the 3D reconstruction. Conventional camera-projector calibration techniques commonly require either expensive hardware rigs or complex algorithm. In this paper, we propose an easy camera-projector calibration technique. The proposed technique does not need any hardware rig or complex algorithm. Thus it will enhance the efficiency of structured-light 3D reconstruction. We present two camera-projector systems to show the calibration results. Error analysis on the two systems are done based on the projection error of the camera and the projector, and 3D reconstruction of world reference points.

Hydraulic Stability of a Non-Toxic Revetment Block (무독성 호안 블록의 수리적 안정성)

  • The inappropriate hydraulic design criteria on the new revetment technique for the ecological river restoration project happens to lead to economic loss during the flood season. In this study, the hydraulic stability of the developed non-toxic revetment was evaluated at a maximum discharge of $3.0m^3/s$ and a maximum velocity of 3.0 m/s in a real scale experimental channel. The vertical movement of the non-toxic revetment block was in the range of ${\pm}3mm$ mm in the experimental conditions. The results show that the non-toxic revetment block was sufficiently hydraulically secured.

  • Design of a degradation test without replacement is considered based on tightened critical value to reduce the evaluation testing time. The sample size, number of inspections, and the critical values are determined to assure the same probability of acceptance when the testing time is reduced to some degree. Photo-diode balance of an optical pickup is analyzed as a case study.
