The Effect of Speed-Change Gait Training on Cardiopulmonary Function of Stroke Patients (속도변화 보행 훈련이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 심폐기능에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the changes in the cardiopulmonary functions of stroke patients by adjusting the s heart rate during walking training. This study was conducted on 20 chronic stroke patients. The experimental group conducted walking training by varying the walking speed according to the change in heart rate on the treadmill. In contrast, the control group conducted walking training by the subjective speed of the subject. The walking training was conducted for 32 minutes, three times a week, for a total of six weeks. The changes after the intervention of the subjects were determined by measuring the VC, ERV, IRV, FVC, FEV1, and PEF. The study revealed interactions between the groups and timing in the VC, ERV, and IRV(p<.05). There were no interactions between the groups and timing in FEV1, FVC, and PEF. The main effects showed no significant differences between the groups (p>.05) but showed significant differences between periods (p<.05). These results suggest that the cardiopulmonary function was improved significantly when the training was conducted by changing the pace of the heart rate in the walking process, leading to significant changes in the cardiopulmonary function.

Comparative Analysis on Peak and non-peak hours Traffic Accident using Logistic Regression Analysis (로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용한 첨두·비첨두시간 사고유형 비교분석 연구)

  • 본 연구는 첨두 비첨두시간에 발생되는 교통사고의 주요 요인들을 발견하고 비교하여 각 시간대의 사고특성을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 분석한 결과 흐린 날씨의 경우 첨두시간에 발생되는 사망사고 위험도가 비첨두시간의 경우보다 더 높게 나타났고, 비첨두시간 사망사고 위험도의 경우 안개가 낀 날 증가하고 맑은 날 감소하는 모습이 나타났다. 과속의 경우 비첨두시간이 첨두시간의 경우 보다 크게 나타났고, 횡단 중인 보행자와 발생되는 사고에 대해서는 첨두시간의 사망위험도가 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 차량단독 사고의 경우 공작물과 충돌로 인한 사망위험도는 첨두시간이 높은 것으로 나타났고, 도로 이탈로 인한 사망위험도는 비첨두시간이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Performance Evaluation of Software Timer for Real-time Control of the Subsea Walking Robot CR200 (해저보행로봇 CR200의 실시간 제어를 위한 소프트웨어 타이머의 성능 평가)

  • 한국해양연구원에서 개발하고 있는 해저보행로봇 CR200은 6개의 다리를 이용하여 해저면에서 보행으로 이동하며 정밀 해저탐사 및 작업을 수행할 수 있는 로봇이다. 운용자는 선상제어실에서 유선으로 연결된 CR200을 원격으로 모니터링하거나 제어한다. 특히 안정적인 보행을 위해서는 100Hz의 주기로 CR200의 상태 정보가 선상제어실로 전송되고, 선상제어실에서는 전송된 정보를 기반으로 제어 명령을 산출하여 CR200으로 전송해야 한다. 이러한 주기적인 실시간 제어를 위해서는 일반적으로 실시간 운영체제를 사용하지만, 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제를 사용하지 않고 시스템 시간 기반의 백그라운드 프로세스로 동작하는 소프트웨어 타이머를 사용하여 실시간 제어를 하는 방법을 제안하고, 성능 평가 결과를 제시한다. 제안한 방법의 실시간 속성을 검증하기 위하여, 현재 설계에서 운영체제로 고려하고 있는 우분투 10.04와 윈도우즈 7을 CR200에 탑재되는 Advantech 사의 PCM-3362 보드에 설치하여 소프트웨어 타이머의 성능을 10ms부터 100ms까지 각각 실험하였다. 실험결과에 따르면, 두 운영체제에서 모두 누락이 없이 타이머 동작이 수행되었으며, 10ms 간격으로 타이머를 동작하였을 때에 우분투에서는 평균 오차가 $41{\mu}s$이었고 윈도우즈 7에서는 7.7ms였다. 윈도우즈 7에서의 오차는 100Hz 제어 주기에 사용하기에 적합하지 않지만, 우분투에서의 오차는 제어 주기 간격의 0.41%에 불과하기 때문에 해저보행로봇의 실시간 제어에 영향을 주지 않는 오차이다. 따라서 CR200의 임베디드 컴퓨터와 선상제어실의 원격제어 컴퓨터는 우분투 운영체제 상에서 소프트웨어 타이머를 이용하여 상호 연동되도록 구현할 예정이다.

Fire Evacuation Simulation Using FFM and FDS (FFM과 FDS를 이용한 화재 대피 시뮬레이션)

  • In general, fire and evacuation simulators are used independently to diagnose the safety of building. Because this method does not reflect the movement of pedestrians considering fire spread, it is difficult to expect diagnosis of safety with high accuracy. In this study, we propose the simulation method that can describe the movement of pedestrians in the fire emergency. Our method reflects the FDS fire spread data into FFM and explains the situation in which a pedestrian recognize a fire and escapes to a safe route. This study consists of data linkage between FDS and FFM and development of improved FFM. Experiment of the proposed method is progressed using the EgresSIM. Simulation result shows that the number of evacuees on each exit is affected by the presence or absence of fire and it was confirmed that the evacuation time increase and the bottleneck phenomenon deepened by exit.

  • In recent, the studies on the systems have been progressing that count the number of people passing through passageway or count people who exist in specific space. The existing people counting systems count the number of people using ultrared sensors, ultrasonic sensors or camera sensors, which can be installed only on pillar or around wall. Though ultrared sensors and ultrasonic sensors is low cost, they are inadequate to detect incoming/outgoing when several pedestrians pass through passageway concurrently. In this paper, we designed a sensor mat using piezoelectric sensors to complement the above-mentioned disadvantage. Also, we implemented the system that detects direction of progress and counts the number of people. The sensor mat detects direction of progress using pressure given on sensors and timing information and counts the number of people when pedestrians pass through on a sensor mat.

  • This study aims to track pedestrian behavior in urban linear tourist sites and to analyse their behavioral characteristics. For these purposes, this study has adopted the direct observation, a behavioral tracking methodology, and selected Chenggyecheon in Seoul as the study site, a representative site of urban regeneration. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows: the period of stay and movement distance of pedestrians in the study area are both short and most pedestrian activities, apart from walking, are of a passive nature, such as pitching pennies, reading signs, resting and the like. Spatial points of Chenggyecheon at which pedestrians have exhibited these behaviors during their stay are summarized as 30 points and classified into 3 types: landmarks, bridges and nodes. Further research that combines several tracking methods in terms of urban pedestrian behavior is needed.

The Effect of Action Observation on Gait in Hemiparesis Patients (활동관찰 훈련이 편마비 환자의 보행지수에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to evaluate the effects of an action observation to improve on gait in stroke patients. Participants were randomly allocated to two groups: experimental (n=10) and control (n=10). Both groups were trained for 60 minutes, 6 times a week during 6 weeks by neuro-development treatment. Experimental group practiced additional action observation for 3 session 10 minutes per week 6 weeks. Both groups were evaluated by gait velocity, affected step length, non affected step length, affected stride length, non affected stride length, double support time, cadence, and timed up and go to test. There were significantly increased by action observation in outcomes of the gait performance from the gait velocity, affected side step length, affected side stride length, cadence, timed up and go test. In conclusion, the action observation improves gait performance in stroke patients. The results suggest that action observation training is feasible and suitable for individuals with hemiparesis patients.

A Study on Comparison of Improved Floor Field Model and Other Evacuation Models (개선된 Floor Field Model과 다른 피난시뮬레이션 모델의 비교 연구)

  • In this study, we propose an improved Floor Field Model(FFM) that considers the physical characteristics of pedestrians, i.e., body size, shape, and posture. Also we analyse limits of FFM and features of improved model compared with existing evacuation simulation models. FFM is a typical microscopic pedestrian model using CA, but it does not reflect the physical characteristics of pedestrians. Because of this, FFM is difficult to modeling phenomena such as collision, friction between pedestrians. As a result, FFM calculates a very short evacuation time when compared with the other models. We performed a computational experiment to compare improved model with other models such as FFM, Simulex, Pathfinder in an actual campus building. We carried out a comparison of evacuation aspect according to the change in number of evacuees. Also we compared evacuation aspect by exit. Finally, we confirmed that improved model reflects physical phenomena which were not reflected in FFM. Especially, experimental results were very similar to the Simulex.

The Study of Scattering Dust and Radiation Dose in Pedestrian Tunnels in Metropolitan Area (수도권 보행터널 내부에 존재하는 비산 먼지와 방사선량의 연구)

  • In the present, external environmental factors affect human health. In particular, the most important issue is fine dust in these days. Because fine dust is inhaled through the human respiratory system is known to be harmful to health. Tunnels for cars and people can also be easily seen around us. This study, the amount of scattering radiation was measured for walkable tunnels about dust. For the measurement method, dust and radiation dose in the tunnel were measured on good weather (fine dust level: 0 ~ 30 ㎍/㎥) and normal day (fine dust level: 0 ~ 80 ㎍/㎥). The measurement resulted in an increase of 10~20 % of dust in the center of the tunnel on a good weather day and an increase of 20~30 % of dust in the center of the tunnel on normal weather. On the other hand, the results of tunnel measurement of radiation dose increased by 10~20 % at the center of the tunnel non-depending on the weather. As a result, pedestrians should pay attention to scattering dust and scattered radiation while moving through the tunnel. Therefore, it is recommended to wear a filter mask of PM2.5 or less during frequent tunnel walking.

A Biomechanical Research for Incorates a Rounded Sole with a 20 Degree Heel Lift in Functional Shoes (후족부 경사각을 이용한 신발에 관한 생체역학적 연구)

  • The primary innovation in the new footwear is a heel lift of $20^{\circ}$ which is proposed to improve posture and balance as well as increase shock absorption. The purpose of this research was to compare the movement, forces and muscle activity between the new shoes and standard athletic footwear during standing and walking. Nine healthy subjects participated in this study. Data were collected at two times: 1) when the subjects first wore the new walking shoes and 2) after the subjects wore the shoes for 6 hours a day for two weeks. 1. During standing. the movement of the center of pressure is increased approximately 60% when wearing the new walking shoes compared to a control shoe. 2. During walking. the ankle is approximately $14^{\circ}$ more dorsiflexed during landing due to the 200heel lift in the new walking shoes. The knee compensates slightly by flexing approximately $2^{\circ}$ more. 3. As a result of the changes in the walking movement, the ground reaction forces are applied more quickly, although the peak magnitudes do rut change. 4. The resultant joint moments at the ankle and knee joints decrease from 21-60% with the largest reductions occurring during landing. In conclusion, the new footwear change the movement, showing a more upright stance. Also, the new footwear reduce joint loading at the joint during the landing and weight acceptance phase of walking. However, the influence of the new footwear is immediate and does rut change after wearing the shoes for two weeks.
