This study was conducted to find out the difference in judgment of murder cases by participants' generation according to the type of murder. 196 adults in their 20s and older were randomly assigned to one of the scenarios of parricide, filicide, and murder, then responded to the judgment(ex. judgment of the perpetrator, degree of deviation from social norms, and judgment of victim responsibility). Finally, 128 responses were used in the analysis. As a result, it was found that the main effect of the murder type and the interaction effect of the generation and the murder type were not shown in all dependent variables. However, the difference between generations was statistically significant in the judgment of the perpetrator (e.g., perpetrator blame, perpetrator responsibility, intentional crime, etc.), indicating that millennials made unfavorable judgments to the perpetrator. Especially, in the case of parricide, it was found that millennials made unfavorable judgments to perpetrators than older generations. Also, it was found that the participants of the older generation tended to make unfavorable judgments toward the perpetrator of murder rather than the perpetrator of parricide. Finally, based on these results, this study proposed the need to reconsider the 'victim of survivors' factor, which is considered as a weighing of an offense for special sentencing factors.

What made stand out among these police procedurals was its focus on the importance of history to understand both the past and contemporary society and culture. Many of the cases involve aspects of history that are not part of mainstream narratives and constitute the unfinished business of America. The flashback sequences throughout the show visually and affectively transport the viewer back to an earlier historical moment. What all the victims have in common is that they refused to be silent or passive in the face of circumstances they believed were wrong, or they refused to conform to dehumanising and destructive social and cultural expectation. Those promoting these lies have the power to establish their version as the power to establish their version as the "truth" of what happened in context, but viewers are positioned to see the truth as the victims experienced it and to identify with them and against the power abusers. The Cold Case detectives pursue the ghosts of American history, restoring to our view stories of lives and experiences rendered invisible and unspeakable by dominant forms of knowledge and power. The series invites viewrs to empathize with the victim and to develop an ethical commitment to social justice in the future.

TV drama , aired on JTBC in 2018, used several fictional and linguistic clues on the murder case. It effectively delayed the process of inferring the perpetrator by utilizing 'ambiguity' and 'trap', which enabled the double interpretation of the the main character's diaglogue and action. This delay could be made by employment of genre hybrid, cognitive process and knowledge of viewers about typical romance plot and mystery plot in TV drama. In other words, could be evaluated as a special genre hybrid case that disturbs viewers' perception of genre in that the correct reasoning process began from the point that overturned the viewer's expectation about typical romance genre dramas in which male main characters mostly devoted to love. The complicating mystery structure shown in is against the opinion that the traditional mystery structure is difficult to succeed in TV dramas. Also, from the perspective of hybrid genre, it is different from the usual mechanical combination of two different plots. These characteristics in are worth to highly evaluated.
