Concept and Theoretical Issues of Conservation of Cultural Heritage (문화유산(文化遺産) 보존(保存)의 개념(槪念)과 보존(保存) 이론(理論))

  • Koreans began to undertake the conservation of their art and architectural artifacts approximately fifty years ago after modern concept of conservation were introduced by japanese during the Japanese Colonial Period(1910-1945). But still the modern concept of conservation is not clear to many Korean conservators because they have been concerned about conservation techniques to recover the original from of the remains be destroyed. Also, Korean conservation practice has neglected the philosophical issues and ethics of conservation. So, in this article, I described various terms referring to 'conservation' which have been used in western countries, Japan, China, and Korea, and compared their similarities and differences to have more clear idea on the modern concept of conservation. In the next chapter, I summarized several theoretical issues which had been discussed among western conservators over the centuries. Specially, I described closely the modern issues and ethics which have been presented in the twentieth century. As many conservation projects in Korea have resulted unsatisfactorily or been suspended altogether, because lacking a coherent theoretical dialogue on conservation and discussing an ethical issues of conservation. Therefore, I believe that more vigorous dialogue on these issues in Korea may lead conservators to consider their tasks in a more productive light, and the Korean artifacts may preserve well.

Analytical Proof of Conservation of Power in the LTV Phase Noise Theory for Noisy Oscillators (선형시변 발진기 위상잡음 이론의 전력 보존성의 증명)

  • This study derives a generalized PSD formula in the LTV phase noise theory for noisy oscillators. The derived formula analytically proves that the LTV phase noise theory can predict the conservation of the power in the noisy oscillation signals. Additionally, the derived formula allows the theory to account for the behavior of the power spectrum over the entire frequency range including the regions around higher harmonics as well as fundamental frequency.

  • The purpose of this article is: firstly, to survey architect Rem Koolhaas' preservation theory by reviewing his essays, books, exhibitions, and research projects focusing on preservation-related issues; and secondly, to formally analyse OMA's remodeling projects from 1970's to the present. From this analysis, this article tries to classify OMA's remodeling projects into four distinct categories and to establish, respectively, four generally-applicable remodeling strategies: 1)'Interior-oriented', 2)'Juxtaposition', 3)'Infill' and 4)'Cohesion.' Finally, this article argues that these remodeling strategies can be interpreted as a consistent pursuit of integration of various programmatic elements.

  • 최근 기록보존업무가 강화되고 공공기관의 기록물 관리법이 제정, 시행되게 됨에 따라 문헌정보학계는 물론 역사학계, 행정학계에서도 나름대로의 학문적 이론을 토대로 기록보존학을 자신의 학문영역으로 흡수 통합하려는 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 문헌정보학 관점에서 도서관과 기록보존소의 기능과 업무에서 공통점과 차이점을 살펴보고 현재 각 국에서 시행되고 있는 기록보존제도의 주요 내용을 비교하는 데 있다.

A Study on the Improvement Directions of Appraisal for Archival Values - Focused on example of ROK Army's Repository - (기록물 보존가치 평가 개선방안에 관한 연구 - 육군 특수기록관 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This thesis is performed to suggest an objective and effective optimization plan of appraisal for archival values. Even though saving all of archives and records and passing them to descendants would be a strong preservation method, but preservation expenses cannot be ignored. Additionally the appraisal for archives is completed by selecting and preserving high-value records, preserving all of records seems not to be effective. In this aspects archivists have tried to find the appraisal standard to ensure the objectivity of it, however, existing studies cannot bring out positive method because of focusing on analyzing only theoretical analysis on appraisal. This study divides appraisal for archives in 3 steps; inquiry for the records creators, appraisal of archivists, appraisal of appraisal experts, and suggests the standard to increase objectivity and confidency of appraisal. The optimization plan of appraisal for archival values with the results of this thesis would influence on the revitalization of reappraisal for the archives in repository and archive of Korea.

  • Iwata 등은 SPN 구조에 기반한 블록 암호들 중 Serpent에 대한 의사 난수성을 분석하였다 [2]. 그들은 Serpent의 구조를 최대한 보존한 상태에서 의사 난수성을 분석하기 위하여 Serpent의 Diffusion layer의 특성을 그대로 보존하여 일반화 한 후 이론을 전개하였다. 본 논문에서는 Serpent가 취한 Diffusion layer 뿐만 아니라 SPN 구조에 기반한 블록 암호들이 취할 수 있는 임의의 Diffusion layer에 대하여 적용 가능한 일반적인 이론을 도출해낼 것이다.

A Variational Numerical Method of Linear Elasticity through the Extended Framework of Hamilton's Principle (확장 해밀턴 이론에 근거한 선형탄성시스템의 변분동적수치해석법)

  • The extended framework of Hamilton's principle provides a new rigorous weak variational formalism for a broad range of initial boundary value problems in mathematical physics and mechanics in terms of mixed formulation. Based upon such framework, a new variational numerical method of linear elasticity is provided for the classical single-degree-of-freedom dynamical systems. For the undamped system, the algorithm is symplectic with respect to the time step. For the damped system, it is shown to be accurate with good convergence characteristics.

물체의 충돌 시 탄성파에 의한 질량중심의 이동 효과에 대한 해석

  • 두 물체의 충격운동량-충격 및 탄성파 발생의 순으로 작용하도록 하면 계 내에서 충돌 후 생기는 운동량의 관성 속도와 충돌기간동안 발생하는 탄성파의 충격에너지 전달속도가 다른 경우가 있다. 이것은 충돌기간동안 총 운동량은 보존되나 선 운동량이 비 보존되는 경우가 있어서 충돌기간동안 비 보존된 내부 운동량의 시간 적분만큼 충돌을 가한 질량중심이 이동했다는 의미이다. 충돌기간동안 충격파는 탄성파에 근사시키고 그것은 군속도에 근사시켜 이론적 근거를 만들고 실험에 의해 확인했다. 폐쇄된 계 내에서 내부에너지를 이용하여 특별한 두 물체의 충돌기간동안 비 보존되는 운동량 때문에 질량중심이 이동되는 것에 대해 해석한다.

Rod Impact Test for the Determination of Dynamic Yield Stress of Metals (금속재료의 동적항복응력 결정을 위한 봉충격시험법)

  • A new theory based on the modified momentum and energy conservation has been proposed in order to overcome the drawbacks included in previous theories which are used for the determination of dynamic yield stresses and the investigation of dynamic behavior of metals. Then the improvements suggested by the new theory have been manifested through the analysis of the error included in the measurement of deformed length and through the comparison between the new theory, existing theories, and experimental results performed by previous workers. Meanwhile rod impact test has been performed which uses a compressed- air system for the acceleration of flat-ended cylindrical free-cutting brass rods. From the geomtrical measurements of deformed length, the dynamic yield stress of free-cutting brass has determined.
