A Comparative Analysis on the AAC Service Delivery System between the U.S. and Korea (미국과 한국의 AAC 서비스 전달체계 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare AAC service delivery system between Korea and U.S.A for appling effective 'AAC service delivery system. This delivery system complement the missing part in system of the current method and narrow blind area for system. The result of this research, increase suppling item of assistive communication device in public benefit and provide delivery system through construct infrastructure by assistive technology center, special education support center, developmental disorder support center, speech therapy center in each local area. Furthermore, assistive technology-related institute and academy develope training programs for human resources to delivery AAC service.

Usage intention and recognition of necessary functions for ICT-based care devices in older adults living alone (독거노인의 ICT 기반 돌봄 보조 기기 사용의향 및 필요 기능 인식에 대한 기술적 연구)

  • This study intended to examine the willingness to use as well as necessary functions for ICT-based care assistance devices in older adults living alone. A total of 241 older adults living alone from a city participated in the study. Study results show that many older adults living alone are willing to use ICT-based care assistance devices at their home and the functions of care assistance devices that they perceived as necessary were diverse. In addition, there were differences in perception of functional necessity by socio-demographics and medical and functional characteristics of older adults living alone. In particular, there were significant differences in the functions perceived as necessary according to the presence of osteoporosis, depression, insomnia, and limitations in daily activities. Our study findings suggest that the functions of ICT-based care devices should be developed in various ways in order to help healthy aging in place. Findings also imply that it is necessary to provide individualized services and customized care assistance devices according to individual's medical and functional characteristics and needs.

Korean Translation and Psychometric Properties of Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction Assistive Technology 2.0 (QUEST 2.0의 한국어 번안 및 심리측정학적 특징)

  • The purpose of this study was to translate QUEST 2.0 in Korean with valid translation process and to measure psychometric characteristics. Translation process was consist of six steps. Internal consistency was analyzed by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Test-Retest reliability was analyzed by Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient. Internal consistency of 'Assistive device' was .88, 'Services' .92. There was no statistically significant difference according to repetitive measure. The spearman correlation coefficient was .64 for "Assistive Device" and .66 for "Services". This result reflects K-QUEST 2.0's (Korean-Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction Assistive Technology 2.0) safety, consistency, and predictability in aspect of measure. In this study, the K-QUEST 2.0 was translated into Korean and the reliability of K-QUEST 2.0 was tested. Decisively, the K-QUEST 2.0 can be applied to evaluate user satisfaction of assistive technology.

Implementing Accessible Themed Roads through the Analysis of Electric Wheelchair User Experiences

  • In this paper, we propose a barrier-free course route navigation service named "Theme Road" aimed at improving the mobility and convenience for elderly electric wheelchair users with walking disabilities. To achieve this goal, we conducted a user survey through shadowing and in-depth interviews to gather insights on the challenges experienced by elderly electric wheelchair users. We identified potential solutions for each inconvenience through co-creation workshops, resulting in a set of design considerations and app functionalities. Using persona development and service scenarios, we designed and implemented the "Theme Road" service as a dedicated navigation application for barrier-free course navigation. Unlike conventional route navigation and mapping services, our study stands out by offering a unique approach that combines recommended destinations and safe routes based on experiential analysis from elderly electric wheelchair users.

  • 본 논문은 병원과 지역사회에서 제공하는 재활 서비스를 연계하여 재활 단계별 개인 맞춤 재활서비스를 제공하기 위한 재활운동 빅데이터 플랫폼과 재활 서비스를 지원하는 재활 운동 기기간의 데이터 수집을 위한 인터페이스의 설계에 관한 것이다. 재활 운동 빅데이터 플랫폼은 병원과 지역사회에서 생성되는 재활 관련 데이터를 수집하고 이를 가공, 유통하기 위한 데이터 서비스와 수집된 데이터를 예측, 분석하여 개인 맞춤형의 단계별 재활을 지원하기 위한 다양한 서비스를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 재활 운동을 보조하는 재활 운동 기기에서 생성되는 다양한 유형의 데이터를 재활 운동 빅데이터 플랫폼으로 전송하고, 수집된 데이터를 플랫폼 내외부에서 활용 가능하도록 제공할 수 있는 인터페이스에 대하여 설명한다.

  • This study is aimed to introduce the newly developed mobile application for effective provision of assistive devices for people with disabilities in South Korea. By combining of ICF code and ISO 9999 code, more effective way of searching user fit assistive device information and selecting appropriate assistive devices were possible. 10 people with visual impairment were recruited for an usability testing. For the data analysis, paired t-test were used and confidence interval was 95%. The result showed newly developed mobile application was more effective in comparison with on-line based assistive device information. The outcome of this study will enhance the provision of assistive devices for people with disabilities more effectively within better user understanding of their needs and compensate for their body function as well as environmental barriers.

  • 최근 주요 IT 업체의 마케팅 전략은 하드웨어적인 성능 및 가격 위주의 시장전략에서 제품 및 서비스에 대한 사용자의 편의성과 만족도를 극대화시키는 감성 UI(User Interface)/UX(User eXperience)에 바탕을 둔 소비자 감성 지향형 전략으로 이동해 가고 있다. 스마트 시대의 핵심은 감성과 기술의 소통이며, 미래의 정보 서비스는 보고 듣는 것에서 만지고, 느끼고, 기기와 소통하게 함으로써 제품과 서비스의 가치가 결정되는 감성 기반의 서비스가 될 것이다. 감성정보 서비스 기술은 사용자와 기기가 교감하는 디지털 인터페이스를 통해 새로운 형태의 의사 소통 방식과 감성전달 메커니즘으로 소비자의 현재 정서를 인지하고 감정의 정화/승화/억제를 보조하여 보다 사실적이고 실감적인 미디어 소비를 지원할 것이다. 본고에서는 미래 감성 ICT 생태계의 기반이 되는 감성 UX에 대하여 방송 통신망을 바탕으로 한 감성정보 서비스의 현재 모습과 기술동향에 대해 기술한다.

  • 모바일 상의 단문메시지 서비스는 등장한 이례 꾸준히 사용량이 증가하는 추세이며, 현재 세계적으로 가장 많이 사용되는 모바일 서비스이다. 모바일 기기에서 단문 메시지 작성의 불편함을 개선하기 위한 기술로 하드웨어적인 입력 방법 개선과 소프트웨어적인 입력보조 기능이 꾸준히 개발되었다. 소프트웨어적인 방법은 범용성이 넓고 적용이 쉽다는 장점이 있지만 제한된 자원에서 구현상의 어려움이 있어 연구가 미비한 분야이다. 본 논문은 소프트웨어적으로 단문 메시지의 작성을 보조하는 방법을 제시한다. 일상 생활의 반복성에 초점을 맞추어 반복 작성될 메시지에 대해 기존의 메시지를 제시해 자동적으로 응답하도록 하는 방법을 제안한다. 자동적으로 응답 메시지를 선택하기 위한 비교사 학습과 추론 기술로 "메시지 네트워크"를 제안하고, 실험을 통해 고안한 방법의 가능성을 보였다. 실험 결과로부터 반복적인 메시지의 작성에 제시한 방법이 유용함을 알 수 있었다.

Development of IoT Smart Mobility Service Design for People with Disabilities in the Era of Digital Transformation (디지털 트랜스포메이션 시대 교통약자를 위한 IoT 스마트 모빌리티 서비스 디자인 개발)

  • In the era of digital transformation, the transportation underprivileged remains as an underprivileged class without the benefits of technological advances. Electric assist devices for the People with disability are inadequate to provide services suitable for the current traffic environment, although the mobility of the People with disability is improved. In this paper, we develop IoT smart mobility by deriving essential elements through user satisfaction surveys to efficiently move physical distances based on the experience of users using existing electric assistive devices. Based on the data collected through user satisfaction survey, quantitative analysis using TF-IFD and qualitative analysis based on QFD are performed to determine the importance of user requirements. For the evaluation of IoT smart mobility design results reflecting essential functions, usability verification is conducted by forming an expert evaluation team in various fields. In the future, we plan to conduct a service design study that can improve mobility convenience and provide mobility service solutions by designing to provide efficient public services by utilizing IoT smart mobility to the People with disability.

  • Recently, N-screen service and secondary device have gotten an attention from public. Also, we can experience N-screen service through various digital devices. N-screen means multimedia technology which can seamlessly consume multimedia content. Secondary device means auxiliary multimedia device which can consume content related to main content through adjunct connection to main device. Not only be electronic manufactures interested in N-screen technology and services but also digital devices applied for N-screen have been released. But it has limitation that user can only consume content to be purchased from content company server not device of user. This paper proposes the system that composes effective and various N-screen multimedia service through MPEG-4 LASeR (Lightweight Application Scene Representation) PMSI (Presentation and Modification of Structured Information) as international standard technology which can provide scene description including many instruction for dynamic update of scene.
