The laboratory tests and field plate load test were carried out to evaluate the reinforcement effect of geocell for road construction. The geocell-reinforced subgrade shows the increment of cohesion and friction angle with comparison of non-reinforced subgrade. In addition, the field plate load test was performed on the geocell-reinforced subgrade to estimate the bearing capacity of soil. The direct shear test was conducted with utilizing a large-scale shear box to evaluate the internal soil friction angle with geocell reinforcement. The number of cells in the geocell system is varied to investigate the effect of soil reinforcement. The theoretical bearing capacity of subgrade soil with and without geocell reinforcement was estimated by using the soil internal friction angle. The field plate load tests were also conducted to estimate the bearing capacity with geocell reinforcement. It is found out that the bearing capacity of geocell-reinforced subgrade gives 2 times higher value than that of unreinforced subgrade soil. The settlement and the distribution of deformation were also estimated by using the finite element method. The magnitude of settlements on the geocell-reinforced subgrade and unreinforced subgrade are 6.8cm and 1.2cm, respectively.

Recently, many researches have been conducted about reinforced concrete structures strengthened with FRP plates. In case of structures strengthened with FRP plates, the issue of premature debonding FRP plate has been raised through many previous researches. The purpose of this paper is what structural behavior and flexaural capacity of reinforced concrete beams which are strengthened for flexure is investigated about the using secondary ironware in the method of external bonded CFRP plate, and the method of near surface mounted CFRP-Rod. Also, in order to evaluate flexural capacity, experiments of the reinforced concrete beams with exteranl bonded CFRP plate and near surface mounted CFRP-Rod have been compared and investigated.
Rock bolt is one of the most important supports for tunnelling to prevent excessive ground relaxation at the primary tunnel excavation stage. It forms a ground arch band by confining the ground around a tunnel. Rock bolt has various effects, such as support or hanging effect, internal pressure effect, arching effect, ground improvement effect etc. Most studies on rock bolt focused on the concept of support, but only a few researches on the ground reinforcing effect by pre-tensioning a rock bolts. In this study, large scale model tests are performed to investigate the ground reinforcing effect of rock bolts for regularly jointed rocks. Simple beam model was built to find out the reinforcing effect of jointed rocks, which was reinforced by pre-tensioned rock bolts. Settlement of model beam was analyzed through measuring its sagging for various installation intervals.

An experimental research on the possibility of using fiber reinforced concrete precast tunnel segments instead of traditional reinforced concrete(RC) segment has been performed in europe. This solution allows removing the traditional reinforcement with several advantages in terms of quality and cost reduction. Full-scale bending tests were carried out in order to compare the behaviour of the segments under flexural actions on both rebar reinforced concrete and rebar-fiber reinforced elements. The test results showed that the fiber reinforced concrete can substitute the traditional reinforcement; in particular the segment performance is improved by the fiber presence, mainly in terms of crack.

In order to prevent brittle failure of concrete, steel fiber reinforcement is effective composite material. However ductility of steel fiber reinforced concrete may be limited due to shrinkage caused by large content of cement binder. Chemical prestressing for steel fiber reinforcement in cement matrix can be induced through expansive admixture and this can increase reinforcing effect of steel fiber. In this study, mechanical performances in concrete with CSA (Calcium sulfoaluminate) expansive admixture and steel fiber reinforcement are evaluated. For this work, steel fiber reinforcement of 1 and 2% of volume ratio and CSA expansive admixture of 10% weight ratio of cement are added in concrete. Mechanical and fracture properties are evaluated in concrete with steel fiber reinforcement and CSA expansive admixture. CSA concrete with steel fiber reinforcement shows increase in tensile strength, initial cracking load, and ductility performance like enlarged fracture energy after cracking. With appropriate using expansive admixture and optimum ratio of steel fiber reinforcement, their interactive action can effectively improve brittle behavior in concrete.

This research dealt with the effect of steel-fiber reinforcement on the compressive strength of ultra high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) and compared with that in normal steel-fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC). With wide range of compressive strength of UHPCC, experiments on the fiber reinforcement effect confirmed that the compressive strength in UHPCC is also improved by adding fibers as in normal SFRC. The experimental results were compared with previous researches about reinforcement effect by adding fibers, which are limited within 100MPa compressive strength. The comparison revealed the linear relationship between $f'_{cf}-f'_c$ and RI regardless of the magnitude of compressive strength, from which a general equation to express the effect of fiber reinforcement, applicable to various SFRC's with wide range of compressive strength including UHPCC.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the normalized behaviors of existing bridge foundations reinforced by micropiles. In order to do numerical method a finite element program was used to predict the micropile behavior and quantify their reinforcing effects on existing bridge foundations. In addition, the installation effects of battered micropiles on existing foundations were compared with vertically reinforced bridge foundations. Based on the study performed, it was found that the use of battered micropiles more efficiently reduces displacement of existing foundations than vertically installed micropiles under vertical and horizontal loadings, respectively. The batter angle of micropiles was also found to be most effective at about $15^{\circ}{\sim}20^{\circ}$ in reducing the vertical displacement. The horizontal reinforcing effect continues to be larger with an increase in batter angles. So, it is believed that the results presented could give an idea to enhance In-service performance of existing bridge foundations reinforced by micropiles.

This paper aims at experimentally investigating the relationship between tensile load and average strain in the tension zone of SFRC beam. Also, it is attempted to find post cracking tension behavior of SFRC under tensile loading condition. The tension stiffening test is conducted on the long prizm of SFRC which embeds reinforcing bar in both ends of member.
From this study, an empirical equation which represents the tension stiffening effect(i.e.effect of increasing tensile-~3trengthening contnbuted by SFRC when the reinforcing bar embeded in the SFRC member is under tensile loading condition) as a function of the average strain is presented .
