This study aims to identify the awareness and performance level of hospital infection control in medical technicians working in small and medium-sized hospitals. The experiment was conducted in 235 medical technicians (medical laboratory technologist, radiological technologist, and physical therapist), and for statistical processing, SPSS Ver.23.0 was used to conduct mean and standard deviation, analysis of variance, and regression analysis. As a result, it was found that the major cause of improper infection control was lack of experts ($3.17{\pm}1.18$) and performance level was statistically significantly lower than awareness of infection control. "I took no measures after infection accident" was responded the highest at 40.0%(94 persons), and in "I reported to the head of department after disinfection, examination, and/or vaccination," the standardized regression coefficient ${\beta}$ was -0.265, p=0.025, which suggested that there was a significant negative (-) impact. Infection control level showed a significant positive correlation with training and infection control instructions. Therefore, it was found that medical technicians in small and medium-sized hospitals required high skilled manpower in infection control, training, infection control instructions, etc. Through this study, more effective infection control is considered to be possible.
The purpose of the study is to investigate infection management status of long term care hospitals and infection prevention knowledge of caregivers. This is descriptive study to investigate the factors affecting caregivers' infection control performance in long term care hospitals. The data collection period was from August, 2018, and a total of 197 caregivers from 8 long term care hospitals. The data analysis were done Win SPSS 20.0 with t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Infection prevention knowledge was positively correlated with infection control performance (p=<.001). The factors influencing performance in a long term care hospital caregivers were over seventy years old (t=2.50, p=.013), eight-hour working time (t=-2.62, p=.010), nursing staffing First grades (t=2.48, p=.014), and infection prevention knowledge (t=2.96 p=.003), which explained 12.9% (F=6.70 p<.001). In summary, we recommend to develop infection education interventions to improve caregivers' infection control performance in long term care hospitals and to improve of the function in long term care hospitals.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the health belief, knowledge and performance of the infection control among nursing staffs in long term care hospital. Data from 146 nursing staff working at eight nursing hospitals in C city were collected for the period during September, 2020. Examining the infection control performance of the subjects, the general information showed that the ease of use of infection control personal protective equipment (β=-.198, p<.05), health belief (β=.124, p<.05), perceived susceptibility(β=.104, p<.05) which is a subgroup of health belief, perceived benefits(β=.111, p<.05) had an effect on infection control performance.
This study is to examine the infection management cognition and to practice of dental hygienists about their general characteristics, type of workplace. 354 dental hygienists in Daegu and Kyungbuk cities. The questionnaire survey was performed from April to May, 2015. These showed that factors of dental infection management according to workplace depended existence and nonexistence that chief of station and program of infection management, education of infection control(p<.001). Also cognition of dental infection control according to workplace drawed the protection individual(p<.05), asepsis procedure(p<.01), control of dental equipment(p<.001), control of infectious waste(p<.01) and laundry(p<.001), to practice of dental infection control according to workplace drawed the protection individual and asepsis procedure(p<.001), methods of disinfected and sterilized(p<.05), control of dental equipment and laundry(p<.001), control of infectious waste(p<.05). As above results, in order to minimize the infection prevention in the dental clinic, the regular infection control education for infection control of dental hygienists required, infection control guidelines place at the dental office.
In this study, a survey was conducted and analyzed to provide basic data on hospital infection control measures and education by identifying awareness and practice of hospital infection control among workers at general hospitals in Busan. As a result of conducting a t-test and one-way ANOVA to see the difference in general variables, the awareness and practice of personal hygiene management were generally low, and the awareness and practice of equipment hygiene management were high. In all areas except for men's personal hygiene management, the level of awareness was higher than the level of practice, confirming that the level of practice was insufficient compared to the level of awareness of infection control. As a result of Pearson's correlation analysis, people with high awareness of infection control showed a high level of practice, so it was thought that raising the awareness of infection control among hospital workers would be effective in preventing hospital infection. Therefore, it is considered that it is necessary to raise the awareness of infection control among workers through continuous education on hospital infection control, and to make efforts of hospital workers to practice it.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of infection control in long term care hospitals. Data were gathered from 156 long term care hospitals that received certification evaluation from May 1, 2016 to July 31, 2016. We used a questionnaire consisting of 85 items regarding the status and perceived importance of infection control. The data were analyzed using the SPSS / WIN 21.0 program. All of the hospitals have infection control regulations, 80.4% of them have an infection control committee and 86.0% of them employ an ICP(infection control practitioner) who holds this position in addition to another. Hand hygiene showed the highest score at 4.47 in the perceived importance of infection control. Employee education and compliance with the validity period of sterilized products showed the highest frequency and perceived importance among the infection control activities. The above results show that almost all of the long term care hospitals have infection control regulations, but that these regulations are not properly implemented, because of the lack of applicable regulations on the policy level. Therefore, it is necessary to develop infection monitoring standards and infection control guidelines for long term care hospitals and provide the infection control practitioners with training in how to apply them.
The purpose of this study is to examine radiologists' awareness and performance of hospital infection control, providing basic information needed to improve and educate how to control hospital infection. The subjects' awareness and performance of hospital infection control were respectively 141.05 and 138.15 points in average score on a 150-point scale. In all sub-areas of the control, the higher the awareness was, the higher the performance was, but the latter was relatively lower than the former. Factors that were having statistically significant effects on that awareness included the necessity of infection control education, participation or non-participation in infection prevention education and recognition or non-recognition of patients' disease state. And factors that were having statistically significant influences on that performance included participation or non-participation in infection prevention education, recognition or non-recognition of patients' disease state and the foresaid awareness itself.
The aim of this study was conducted to investigate the level of awareness and performance of the physical therapists on nosocomial infection and evaluate potential factors as associated with awareness and performance in order to provide fundamental data for the development of program and policy on the prevention of it. The data were collected from 405 physical therapists. The research instrument was self-administered standardized questionnaire including general characteristics, education status, necessity of the education on nosocomial infection, and awareness and performance for prevention of nosocomial infection. Responses were determined as 5-Likert scales and data were summarized as percentage, mean and standard deviation. Data were analysed using independent t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient(${\alpha}=0.05$). The results of this study show that most physical therapists have not received education on nosocomial infection. For this reason, they have a low level of the awareness and performance on nosocomial infection, but they strongly recognize the necessity of the program and education for the prevention of nosocomial infection. Thus, these program and education are needed in each college as an academic curriculum, as well as in hospitals.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of infection control knowledge and standard precaution practice and to identify effecting factors on standard precaution practice among nurses in small and midium-sized hospitals. A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 258 nurses from 7 hospitals between July and August 2021. The mean score of infection control knowledge and standard precaution practice was 7.25 and 3.61, respectively. There were significant differences in standard precaution practice according to clinical experience (r=.123, p=.047) and position (F=5.356, p=.005). Infection control knowledge and standard precaution practice were closely correlated (r=.421, p<.001). Position (β=-.187, p=.025) and infection control knowledge (β=.408, p<.001) had an effect on standard precaution practice. It could be possible to enhance the standard precaution practice through convergence education program related to infection control among staff nurses.
