  • In the disaster of collapse, an immediate response is needed to prevent the damage from worsening, and damage area calculation, response and recovery plan should be established. This requires accurate detection of the damage affected area. This study performed the detection of the damaged area by using UAV which can respond quickly and in real-time to detect the collapse accident. The study area was selected as B-05 housing redevelopment area in Jung-gu, Ulsan, where the demolition of houses and apartments in progress as the redevelopment project began. This area resembles a collapsed state of the building, which clear changes before and after the demolition. UAV images were acquired on May 17 and July 9, 2019, respectively. The changing area was considered as the damaged area before and after the collapse of the building, and the changing area was detected using CVA (Change Vector Analysis) the Representative Change Detection Technique, and SLIC (Simple Linear Iterative Clustering) based superpixel algorithm. In order to accurately perform the detection of the damaged area, the uninterested area (vegetation) was firstly removed using ExG (Excess Green), Among the objects that were detected by change, objects that had been falsely detected by area were finally removed by calculating the minimum area. As a result, the accuracy of the detection of damaged areas was 95.39%. In the future, it is expected to be used for various data such as response and recovery measures for collapse accidents and damage calculation.

  • Thresholding is important step for detecting binary change/non-change information in the unsupervised change detection. This study proposes new unsupervised change detection method using Hyperion hyperspectral images, which are expected with data increased demand. A graph is drawn with applying the range average method for the result value through pixel-based similarity measurement, and thresholding value is decided at the maximum distance point from a straight line. The proposed method is assessed in comparison with expectation-maximization algorithm, coner method, Otsu's method using synthetic images and Hyperion hyperspectral images. Throughout the results, we validated that the proposed method can be applied simply and had similar or better performance than the other methods.

  • Change detection, which finds changes in remote sensing images of the same location captured at different times, is very important because it is used in various applications. However, registration errors, building displacement errors, and shadow errors cause false positives. To solve these problems, we propose a novle deep convolutional network called CADNet (Change Attention Dense Siamese Network). CADNet uses FPN (Feature Pyramid Network) to detect multi-scale changes, applies a Change Attention Module that attends to the changes, and uses DenseNet as a feature extractor to use feature maps that contain both low-level and high-level features for change detection. CADNet performance measured from the Precision, Recall, F1 side is 98.44%, 98.47%, 98.46% for WHU datasets and 90.72%, 91.89%, 91.30% for LEVIR-CD datasets. The results of this experiment show that CADNet can offer better performance than any other traditional change detection method.

  • Various algorithms such as Chronochrome(CC), Principle Component Analysis(PCA), and spectral unmixing have been studied for hyperspectral change detection. Change detection by spectral unmixing offers useful information on the nature of the change compared to the other change detection methods which provide only the locations of changes in the scene. However, hyperspectral change detection by spectral unmixing is still in an early stage. This research proposed a new approach to extract endmembers, which have identical properties in temporally different images, by Iterative Error Analysis (IEA) and Spectral Angle Mapper(SAM). The change map obtained from the difference of abundance efficiently showed the changed pixels. Simulated images generated from Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) and Hyperion were used for change detection, and the experimental results showed that the proposed method performed better than CC, PCA, and spectral unmixing using N-FINDR. The proposed method has the advantage of automatically extracting endmembers without prior information, and it could be applicable for the real images composed of many materials.

  • Self-healing is one of the techniques that assure dependability of mission-critical system. Self-healing consists of fault detection and fault recovery and fault detection is important first step that enables fault recovery but it causes overhead. We can detect fault based on model, the detection tasks that notify system's behavior and compare normal behavior model and system's behavior are heavy jobs. In this paper, we propose architecture-based multi-level self-adaptive monitoring method that complements model-based fault detection. The priority of fault detection per component is different in the software architecture. Because the seriousness and the frequency of fault per component are different. If the monitor is adapted to intensive to the component that has high priority of monitoring and loose to the component that has low priority of monitoring, the overhead can be decreased and the efficiency can be maintained. Because the environmental changes of software and the architectural changes bring the changes at the priority of fault detection, the monitor learns the changes of fault frequency and that is adapted to intensive to the component that has high priority of fault detection.

  • The semantic web is an emerging paradigm in the information retrieval and Web-based system. This paper deals with a Web change detection system which employs the semantic web and ontology. While existing Web change detection systems detect the syntactic change, the proposed system focuses on the detection of the semantic change. The system detects the change only when the web has semantic change. To achieve this, the system employs the domain-specific ontology (e.g., computer science professional person information in the paper). The Web pages regarding before and after change are converted according to the ontology. Then the comparison is performed. The experimental result shows the semantic-based change detection is more useful than the syntax-based change detection.

  • Collective traffic data (BPS, PPS etc.) for detection against the distributed denial of service attack on network is the time sequencing big data. The algorithm to detect the change point in the big data should be accurate and exceed in detection time and detection capability. In this work, the sliding window and discretization method is used to detect the change point in the big data, and propose five nonparametric test statistics using empirical distribution functions and ranks. With various distribution functions and their parameters, the detection time and capability including the detection delay time and the detection ratio for five test methods are explored and discussed via monte carlo simulation and illustrative examples.

  • Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Day/Night Band (DNB) data help to enable rapid emergency responses through detection of the artificial and natural disasters occurring at night. The DNB data without correction of lunar irradiance effect distributed by Korea Ocean Science Center (KOSC) has advantage for rapid change detection because of direct receiving. In this study, radiance differences according to the phase of the moon was analyzed for urban and mountain areas in Korean Peninsula using the DNB data directly receiving to KOSC. Lunar irradiance correction algorithm was proposed for the change detection. Relative correction was performed by regression analysis between the selected pixels considering the land cover classification in the reference DNB image during the new moon and the input DNB image. As a result of daily difference image analysis, the brightness value change in urban area and mountain area was ${\pm}30$ radiance and below ${\pm}1$ radiance respectively. The object based change detection was performed after the extraction of the main object of interest based on the average image of time series data in order to reduce the matching and geometric error between DNB images. The changes in brightness occurring in mountainous areas were effectively detected after the calibration of lunar irradiance effect, and it showed that the developed technology could be used for real time change detection.

  • In order to monitor nuclear activity in inaccessible areas, it is necessary to establish a methodology to analyze changesin nuclear activity-related objects using high-resolution satellite images. However, traditional object detection and change detection techniques using satellite images have difficulties in applying detection results to various fields because effects of seasons and weather at the time of image acquisition. Therefore, in this paper, an object of interest was detected in a satellite image using a deep learning model, and object changes in the satellite image were analyzed based on object detection results. An initial training of the deep learning model was performed using an open dataset for object detection, and additional training dataset for the region of interest were generated and applied to transfer learning. After detecting objects by multitemporal and multisensory satellite images, we tried to detect changes in objects in the images by using them. In the experiments, it was confirmed that the object detection results of various satellite images can be directly used for change detection for nuclear activity-related monitoring in inaccessible areas.
