유한요소법에 의한 Duplex 스테인레스 강의 초소성 해석 (Superplstic Forming Analysis of Duplex Stainless Steel with Finite Element Method)

  • In recent years, there has been a considerable interest in the application of super plastic forming in the aircraft and automotive industries. This requires a detailed design of the technological process in order to exploit its peculiar potentialities better. Nowadays, the finite element method is used to plan the sheet metal forming processes whose simulation requires determination of material constants for super plastic materials. The present work is aimed to show a simple method to characterize super plastic materials duplex stainless steel which was formed by a constant gaspressure to hemispheres with and without back pressure. The forming operation was performed using an in-house designed and built biaxial forming apparatus. The temporal change of dome heights of hemispheres were measured for applying the pressures. The flow stresses and strain rates developed at the top of the dome during the forming step were shown to follow closely the flow stress - strain rate relationship obtained from the strain rate change tests performed at the same temperature.

  • This paper is concerned with the thermo-mechanical behavior including temperature dependent strain-rate sensitivity of steel sheet for an auto-body. In order to identify the temperature dependent strain-rate sensitivity of SPRC35R and SPRC45E, uniaxial tension tests are performed with the variation of the strain-rates from 0.001 /sec to 200 /sec at environmental temperatures varied from $-40^{\circ}C\;to\;200^{\circ}C$. The thermo-mechanical response at the quasi-static state is obtained with the static tensile test and at the intermediate strain-rate is from the high speed tensile test. Experimental results show that the strain-rate sensitivity increases at low temperature. It represents that as the strain-rate increases, the variation of flow stress becomes sensitive on the temperature. The results indicate that the flow stress of SPRC35R is more dependent on the changes of strain-rate and temperature than those of SPRC45E.

  • Polycrystalline materials such as steels(BCC) and aluminum alloys(FCC) show the strain hardening and the strain rate hardening during the plastic deformation. The strain hardening is induced by deformation resistance of dislocation glide on some crystallographic systems and increase of the dislocation density on grain boundaries or inner grain. However, the phenomenon of the strain rate hardening is not demonstrated distinctly in the rage of $10^{-2}$ to $10^2/sec$ strain rate. In this paper, tensile tests for various strain rates are performed in the rage of $10^{-2}$ to $10^2/sec$ then, specimens are extracted on the same strain position to investigate the microscopic behavior of deformed materials. The extracted specimens are investigated by using the electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results which show the effect of texture orientation, grain size and dislocation behavior on the strain rate hardening.

  • 본 연구에서는 충격횡압력을 받는 선체 판부재의 붕괴강도 특성을 분석하고 충격하중 효과를 고려한 간이 구조설계식을 제시하고자 한다. 충격횡압력하에 판부재의 붕괴거동을 분석하기 위해 기존의 실험결과와 더불어 범용 비선형 유한요소해석 프로그램인 STARDYNE을 이용하였다. 이론적 방법으로는 먼저 강소성이론을 이용하여 정적 횡압력을 받는 판부재에 대한 붕괴강도식을 도출하였다. 또한, 변형률속도 효과를 고려하여 충격 횡압력 문제에도 적용하였다. 실제 판부재에 적용 예로써 충격횡압력을 받는 강판부재와 알루미늄합금 보강판부재에 대한 붕괴거동을 분석하였다.

횡충돌 하중을 받는 비보강 강판의 구조거동에 대한 크기 효과 (Scale Effects on the Structural Behavior of Steel Unstiffened Plates Subjected to Lateral Collisions)

  • The scale effects on the permanent deformations and fractures of structures subjected to impact loadings have been aware by structural engineers for a long time. Experimental investigations have been performed with various structures to demonstrate the effects, but very few are directly related with marine structural elements. Furthermore, the causes of the scale effects have not clearly been answered yet. In this study, to quantify the scale effects on the permanent deflections, lateral collision tests were performed on steel unstiffened plates and the numerical analyses of the tested models were also conducted using a commercial package, Abaqus. After the substantiation of the numerical tool using the test results, a parametric study was carried out considering and neglecting the strain-rate hardening. Based upon the parametric study results, it may be concluded that the main cause of the scale effects on the permanent deflections of steel unstiffened plates subjected to lateral collision loads is the strain-rate effects.

차체용 고장력 강판의 동적 인장 특성 평가 (Dynamic Tensile Characteristics of the High Strength Steel Sheet for an Auto-body)

  • An important challenging issue in the automotive industry is the light-weight, safe design and enhancement of crash response of an auto-body structures. These objectives lead to increasing adoption of high strength steel sheet for inner and outer auto-body members. This paper evaluates the dynamic tensile characteristics of high strength steel sheets, HS45R, TRIP60, DP60 and DP100, along the rolling direction and transverse direction. Static tensile tests were carried out at the strain rate of 0.003/sec using the static tensile machine (Instron 5583). Dynamic tensile tests were carried out at the range of strain rate from 0.1/sec to 200/sec using a high speed material testing machine developed. The tensile tests acquire stress-strain relation and strain rate sensitivity of each material. The experimental results show two important aspects for high strength steels: the flow stress increases as strain rate increases; the strain hardening decreases as the tensile stress increases. The experiments also produce interesting results that the elongation does not decrease even when the strain rate increases.

  • INCONEL 718, nickel based superalloy, has good formability, high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties at high temperature. Owing to theses attractive properties, it is utilized in applications such as combustion system, turbine engines and nuclear reactors. In such applications, components are typically required to be tolerant of high stress impact loading. This may cause material degradation and lead to catastrophic failure during service operation. Accurate understanding of material's mechanical properties with various strain rates is required in order to guarantee the reliability of structural parts made of INCONEL 718. This paper is concerned with the dynamic material properties of the INCONEL 718 at various strain rates. The dynamic response of the INCONEL 718 at the intermediate strain rate is obtained from the high speed tensile test and at the high strain rate is from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test. The effect of the strain rate on dynamic flow stress, work hardening characteristics, strain rate sensitivity and elongation to the failure is evaluated with the experimental results. Experimental results from both the quasi-static and the high strain rate up to 5000/sec are interpolated in order to construct the Johnson-Cook model as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulate and design the structural parts made of rNCONEL 718.

  • This study addresses evaluation of performance of hardening model for a titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) based on the artificial neural network (ANN) regarding the strain rate and the temperature. Uniaxial compression tests were carried out at different strain rates from 0.001 /s to 10 /s and temperatures from 575 ℃ To 975 ℃. Using the experimental data, ANN models were trained and tested with different hyperparameters, such as size of hidden layer and optimizer. The input features were determined with the equivalent plastic strain, strain rate, and temperature while the output value was set to the equivalent stress. When the number of data is sufficient with a smooth tendency, both the Bayesian regulation (BR) and the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) show good performance to predict the flow behavior. However, only BR algorithm shows a predictability when the number of data is insufficient. Furthermore, a proper size of the hidden layer must be confirmed to describe the behavior with the limited number of the data.

  • 본 논문에서는 초기균열을 갖고 있는 폐포형 구조, 발포알루미늄의 축방향 기계적 거동을 실험 및 유한요소해석으로 연구하였다. 재료시험에서 MTS 사의 10kN Landmarks 를 사용하여, 모드 I 형상의 15mm/min 의 하중속도로 변위를 제어하였다. 또한 유한요소해석 범용프로그램인 ABAQUS 6.10 으로 3 차원 형상의 실험과 동일한 조건으로 모델을 구성하여 해석을 수행하였다. 실험의 축방향 변위-하중 그래프와 시간에 대한 균열 길이를 기반으로 에너지 해방률을 계산하였으며, 이 값을 해석에서 파손 에너지 조건으로 사용하였다. 결과적으로 변위 값에 따른 하중 거동을 확인할 수 있었으며, 발포알루미늄이 접착제에 비해 상대적으로 큰 밀도와 탄성계수를 가지므로 발포알루미늄의 변형이 상대적으로 작다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

웨이블릿 변환의 특성을 이용한 얼굴 인식 성능 개선 (Performance Improvement of the Face Recognition Using the Properties of Wavelet Transform)

  • 본 논문에서는 웨이블릿 변환의 특성을 이용한 얼굴인식 방법을 제안하여 인식성능 향상에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 사용한 이산 웨이블릿 변환은 모웨이블릿의 특징과 비슷한 Daubechies D4 필터이다. 웨이블릿 변환영역 중 LL 대역의 데이터만을 이용할 경우 원본 데이터에 비하여 크기가 줄어들게 되어 인식과정의 속도와 메모리 사용량을 줄일 수 있게 된다. 또한 2차원 데이터의 변형없이 손실을 줄여 인식률을 향상시키기 위하여 2차원 LDA 방법을 적용하였다. 그리고 여기서 얻은 특징벡터를 이용하여 SVM을 수행하도록 하였다. 실험은 Matlab 프로그램을 통하여 ORL 얼굴 데이터베이스와 Yale 얼굴 데이터베이스를 이용하여 실험을 하였고 기존의 방법들과 인식률과 수행시간을 비교를 함으로써 제안한 방법의 우수성을 입증하였다.
