From the floristic point of view, the Baekdudaegan, a main mountain range of the Korean peninsula, in the region of Mt. Deog-yu, belongs to the southern province in Korea, as the species like Cephalotaxus koreana, Lindera obtusiloba, Ilex macropoda and Stewartia koreana. are ranged in this region. But the species of the Northern element such as Betula costata, Betula ermani, Heloniopsis orientalis and Disporum ovale are also recorded in the region. Above the sea level from 1,000m, many sub alpine plant species are recorded. Rare and endangered plant species which are categorized by the Office of Forestry were 10 species such as Lilium cernum, Paeonia obovata, Abies koreana, Disporum ovale, Lilium distichum, Tricyrtis dilatata, Clematis chiisanensis, Bupleurum euphorbioides, Rhododendron schonoskii and Iris ensata var. spontanea. The protected plant species which are categorized by the Ministry of Environment were recorded only Lilium cernum. The Korean endemic plant species were recorded as 22 taxa; 12 families, 21 genera, 20 species 1 varieties, and 1 forma. Among them the plant species such as Cephalotaxus koreana, Abies koreana, Hosta capitata, Polygonatum lasianthum var. coreanum and Tricyrtis dilatata are representative ones in the region.
The vascular plants recorded from the 11 sites of coastal sand dune in North Gyeongsang Province are as follows: 204 taxa, 2 hybrids, 1 form, 22 varieties, 1 subspecies, 178 species, 132 genera, 43 families. These areas also present rare plant (Glehnia littoralis); 20 taxa, 20 species, 20 genera, and 15 families of floristics special plants; 46 taxa, 2 variety, 44 species, 30 genera, and 12 families of naturalized plants. The ratio of urbanization and naturalized index is 16.14% and 22.55% respectively. Life form spectrum is Th-$R_5-D_4$-e type. The number of species recorded from the coastal sand dune in Hujeong area turned out to be the highest (44.6%), and the coastal sand dune in Heseo area showed the highest naturalized index (31.58%).

Vascular plants of Mt. Bokgyesan were composed of 80 families, 250 genera, 350 species, 51 varieties and 9 forma, totaling 410 taxa. 15 species including endemic genus Hanabusaya among the 410 taxa were Korean endemic, and 63 taxa of specially designated plants which were determined by the Ministry of Environment. The naturalized plants were 6 families, 10 genera, 11 species, 1 variety, totaling 12 taxa. Life form spectra was H-D4-R5-e type, and the use of plants were composed edible 49.8%, pasture 38.3%, medical 33.2%, ornamental 11.2%, respectively. The vegetation of Mt. Bokgyesan were classified Quercetalia mongolicae community group composed with Pinus densiflora-Quercus mongolica community, Betula schmidtii Quercus mongolica community and typical community, and Juglans mandshurica community present in the valley of southwestern area.
The Specific Plant Species such as N degree (2 species) and V degree (5 species) which is categorized by the Ministry of Environment are appeared as 7 species. II degree species among Endangered species of wild flora is Abeliophyllum distichum, and the Rare and Endangered Species which is categorized by the Korea Forest Service are enlisted as the five taxa. The Bukhansan is one of the phytogeographic ally important areas among national parks of Korea because this region is located in the northern limit of Southern Plant Types, such as Carpinus laxiflora, Cornus kousa, Styrax japonica and Zanthoxylum piperitum. The flora of the area was enlisted as 638 taxa, 103 families, 362 genera, 541 species, 87 varieties, and 10 forms. Naturalized Species was identified as 58 taxa, 16 families, 52 genera, 54 species and 4 varieties. The Ratio of Naturalized and Urbanization Index was 9.09% and 20.21%, respectively.
The morphological variation was analysed to examine previous hypotheses on the taxonomy of B. amurensis complex which includes B. amurensis Rupr. var. amurensis, B. amurensis var. quelpaertensis (Nakai) Nakai and B. amurensis var. latifolia Nakai. The results from the univariational and principal components analyses employing 22 putatively diagnostic characters indicate that B. amurensis var. quelpaertensis is distinct from var. amurensis in the length and width of leaves, angle of leaf apex, distance between spinose teeth, length of internode, number of flowers per inflorescence, whereas B. amurensis var. latifolia is different from other varieties in the angle of leaf apex and leaf length/width ratio. In principal component analysis, the characters of the leaf including leaf width and length were the main characteristics to distinguish those three taxa. The evidence both from the principal components analyses and current geographical distribution pattern suggest that retaining the varietal status for the two taxa, B. amurensis var. latifolia and B. amurensis var. quelpaertensis is reasonable.
An unrecorded variety, Viola betonicifolia var. albescens (Nakai) F. Maek. & T. Hashim., was reported from Jeonju, Imsil, and Jinan in Jeollabukdo province, Korea. Viola betonicifolia var. albescens shares several characteristics with its related species V. patrinii Ging. (i.e., white flowers, long triangular blades, winged petioles, green pedicels, and a rounded sepal appendage), but is distinct from V. patrinii, which has a glabrous winged petiole, colorless upper petals, glabrous upper petals, and higher elevation habitats, in that it has a pubescent winged petiole, striate-colored upper petals, bearded upper petals, and lower elevation habitats. It is also distinguished from V. lactiflora Nakai, which has glabrous wingless petioles, red pedicels, and a toothed sepal appendage.
Lee and author (2000) rearanged the list of mushrooms recorded in Korea, containing 1,554 species 388 genera from 90 families for the systematic classification of Korean mushrooms at Korea Forest Research Institute. In September, 2002, Lee, Tai-Soo and Kab-Hee Yoon made public ‘The Index of Korea-Japan Mushroom names in Korea’ that listed 1,610 species from 396 genera, 90 families and 23 orders of mushrooms recorded in Korea. Among the listed taxa, 1,369 species, 297 genera, 65 families, 15 orders belong to Basidiomycotina and 241 species, 99 genera, 25 families and 8 orders belong to Ascomycotina. A total of 56 species were newly added to the list of recorded Korean mushrooms for a period of 2 years. On the other hand, a total of 75 species, 3 varieties and 2 formae were added to the list of recorded Korean mushrooms by the author, and they were published by many researchers from 2001 to 2004. Among the published taxa, one forma, 20 species, 16 genera, 12 families belong to Ascomycotina and one forma, 3 varieties, 55 species, 33 genera, 17 families belong to Basidiomycotina.
The investigated Varcular plants in Youngsan River Streams of Downtown in Gwangju Metropolitan City consist of total 437 taxa: 2 forms, 49 varieties, 386 species, 265 genera, 91 families. Among 53 taxa of hydrophytes, emerged plants were 16taxa, floating-leaved plants were 10taxa, suvmerged plants were 10taxa, and free-floating plants were 3taxa and swamp plants were 14taxa. Based on the list of Rare and Endangered plants, 5taxa were recorded such as Hydrocharis dubia, Euryale Ferox, Penthorum chinense, Prunus yedoensis, Nymphoides coreana. And Korean endemic Plants were appeared as 5taxa: Poa annua, Forsythia koreana, Paulownia coreana, Galium koreanum, Aster koraiensis. From the specific plant species sorted by classes, class I has 10taxa, class II has 2taxa, class III has 2taxa, class IV has 3taxa, class V has 5taxa. Naturalized plant were listed as 62taxa: 15families, 44genera, 59species, 3varieties, and naturalization index was 14.19%. The ecosystem disturbance plants assigned by the Ministry of Environment, 3taxa were recorded: Paspalum distichum, Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior, Solanum carilinense.
The study was performed to understand the actual vegetation by using the phytosociological method on Hypochoeris radicata community group in Jeju-Island. 1. Tracheophyte belonged to the flora species is composed of 194 taxa which comprise 47 families,136 genera, 171 species, 22 varieties and 1 forma (Naturally plants 16 families, 47 genera, 67 taxa, including 64 species, 3 varieties). 2. According to the character species, the Hypochoeris radicata community group vegetation was classified into two communities; Erigeron annuus - Conyza sumatrensis, Setaria viridis var. pachystachs -Zoysia sinica community, distributed species. 3. This species is distributed from the shore to 1,700m the sea, on Jeju Island. 4. In terms of dominance and sociability of Hypochoeris radicata, the Seohong-dong, Seogwipo city site ranked highest site and the Seongsan-ri, Namjeju-gun site ranked lowest. 5. Catapodium rigidium which is belonged Gramineae was for the Hirst time found in JeJu.
The vegetation and plant resources of Paeaknokdam, the crater of Mt. Halla, was investigated from 1996 to 1998. The vegetation was classified into Diapensia lapponica var. obovata-Tofieldia fauriel association and Festuca ovina-Carex erythrobasis association. The latter was divided into Rhododendron mucronulatum var. ciliatum-Empetrum nigrum var. japonicum subassociation, which was composed partly of Abies koreana-Betula ermani var. saitoana variant. The plant resources of 162 taxa were composed of 49 families, 122 genera, 127 species, 2 subspecies, 30 varieties and 3 formae, of which 63 taxa were newly found in this area. Among the investigated plants, 27 taxa were endemic to Korea or Cheju islands, 39 taxa were rare or endangered, and 65 taxa were identified as alpine plants. One hundred and twenty-one taxa(75.6%) were identified to be useful: 82 for ornament, 75 for medice, 66 for food, 17 for nectar-producing, 15 for pasture, and 10 for industry.
