The objective of this study was to analyze the characteristics of combined 1D/2D inundation simulation of riverside farmland using the Hydrologic Engineering Center - River Analysis System (HEC-RAS). We compared and analyzed inundation simulation results between 1D and combined 1D/2D hydraulic simulation using HEC-RAS. Calibration and validation of stream stage were performed using three rainfall events. The coefficient of determination ($R^2$) and root mean square error (RMSE) between simulated and observed stream stage were 0.935 - 0.957 and 0.250 m - 0.283 m in calibration and validation, respectively. The inundation area showed no significant difference in 1D and combined 1D/2D simulation ($8.48km^2$ in 1D simulation, $8.75km^2$ in combined 1D/2D simulation). The average inundation depth by 1D simulation was 1.4 m deeper than combined 1D/2D simulation. In the lower inundation depth, the inundation area by combined 1D/2D simulation was larger than inundation area by 1D simulation. As the inundation depth increased, the inundation area by 1D simulation became wider. In the case of the 1D/2D combined simulation, low elevation areas along the river bank were inundated widely. Compared to 1D/2D combined simulation, the flood radius in some sections was longer in 1D simulation. In the 1D analysis, because the low altitude riverside farmlands are also assumed to stream, it is calculated that riverside farmlands have the same stage as the mainstream when the stream is overflowed. Therefore, the inundation area seems to be overestimated in those sections. In other regions, the inundation areas tend to be broken depending on overflow by each stream cross-section. In the case of river flooding, the overflow is expected to flow to the lower area depending on the terrain, such as the results of the combined 1D/2D simulation. It is concluded that the results of combined 1D/2D inundation simulation reflected the topographical characteristics of low-lying farmland.

Yield prediction model of rice based on the boundary line analysis of the relationships between rice yield and meteorological conditions during rice growing period was reported in the previous report (Kim et al, 2001). Using the 15-year data of the 20 locations used for the model formulation and of the 12 locations not used, the model was tested for its predictability of location to location, year to year, and variety to variety variation of rice yield. The model predicted reliably the mean yield differences among locations, the yearly yield variation in each location, and the yield variation by variety. However, the model showed relatively lower predictability for the years of cool weather injury especially in mountainous locations. In conclusion, the model using boundary line analysis could be used to predict the yield responses to meteorological conditions during rice growth period and the locational, yearly, and varietal variations of rice yield. And the predictability of the present yield prediction model might be improved by including the boundary line analysis for the other factors such as soil characteristics, fertilization levels, etc.

A thermal time-based two-step phenological model was used to project flowering dates of Japanese cherry in South Korea from 1941 to 2100. The model consists of two sequential periods: the rest period described by chilling requirement and the forcing period described by heating requirement. Daily maximum and minimum temperature are used to calculate daily chill units until a pre-determined chilling requirement for rest release is met. After the projected rest release date, daily heat units (growing degree days) are accumulated until a pre-determined heating requirement for flowering is achieved. Model calculations using daily temperature data at 18 synoptic stations during 1955-2004 were compared with the observed blooming dates and resulted in 3.9 days mean absolute error, 5.1 days root mean squared error, and a correlation coefficient of 0.86. Considering that the phonology observation has never been fully standardized in Korea, this result seems reasonable. Gridded data sets of daily maximum and minimum temperature with a 270 m grid spacing were prepared for the climatological years 1941-1970 and 1971-2000 from observations at 56 synoptic stations by using a spatial interpolation scheme for correcting urban heat island effect as well as elevation effect. A 25km-resolution temperature data set covering the Korean Peninsula, prepared by the Meteorological Research Institute of Korea Meteorological Administration under the condition of Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change-Special Report on Emission Scenarios A2, was converted to 270 m gridded data for the climatological years 2011-2040, 2041-2070 and 2071-2100. The model was run by the gridded daily maximum and minimum temperature data sets, each representing a climatological normal year for 1941-1970, 1971-2000, 2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100. According to the model calculation, the spatially averaged flowering date for the 1971-2000 normal is shorter than that for 1941-1970 by 5.2 days. Compared with the current normal (1971-2000), flowering of Japanese cherry is expected to be earlier by 9, 21, and 29 days in the future normal years 2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100, respectively. Southern coastal areas might experience springs with incomplete or even no Japanese cherry flowering caused by insufficient chilling for breaking bud dormancy.

This study was carried out to evaluate the relationships between stand attributes and litterfall amounts in a 28-year old Quercus acutissima stand. Eighteen sampling plots of $20m{\times}20m$ were chosen and litterfall was collected from May 2005 to December 2006. There was no correlation between stand attributes(tree density, mean diameter at breast height, mean height, basal area) and litterfall amounts except for flower and miscellaneous litter for the study period. There were no significant relationships between leaf litter and basal area(r=0.02, 0.05; P=0.93, 0.83) and between leaf litter and tree density(r=-0.10, 0.05; P=0.85, 0.69). Also, leaf litter was affected neither by mean diameter at breast height(r=-0.08, 0.30; P=0.73, 0.22) nor by mean height(r=-0.24, 0.09; P=0.34, 0.70). Other litter amounts such as bark, branch, and acorn showed no relationships with the stand attributes (P>0.05). The lack of significant relationships between litterfall amounts and stand attributes could be due to the closed canopy with a complete crown cover in this mature oak stand.

Using a structural model, this study aims to verify the association between job stress, burnout, and self-efficacy levels of health teachers responsible for school health. Structured questionnaires were administered to 814 health teachers, and validated through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study results show that job stress of the health teacher was 2.9±0.64 and burnout was 2.6±0.52, which was slightly lower than the median of the Likert 5-point scale, while self-efficacy was 4.1±0.51. Various sub-factors contributed to the scores: 'student and family' and 'peer teacher's perception' were high for job stress, while 'work in charge' was high for burnout. Job stress of health teachers resulted in increased burnout and decreased self-efficacy. Furthermore, increased burnout significantly decreased self-efficacy. Hence, job stress affected burnout, and burnout affected self-efficacy. Our data clearly demonstrates that job stress is very important to reduce burnout of health teachers and increase their self-efficacy. Therefore, various efforts are required to lower job stress. This study will help to establish new policies and practical improvement plans to reduce job stress and exhaustion of health teachers, and consequently increase their self-efficacy.

This study investigated the relationship among gait variables and physical fitness variables for Korean elderly people. Two hundred elderly people aged 65 to 85, (100 men and 100 women) participated in this study. They performed senior fitness test consisting of 6 tests, 3 additional physical tests (vertical jump, one leg stand, and grip force), body composition measures, and gait test. The gait test used shoes having an inertia measurement device in the outer-soles. The results indicated that the stride length, 6-min walking, lean body mass, and dumbbell curls were significantly affected by age (the above 75 group vs. the below 75 group). Among 33 measured parameters, the principal component analysis (PCA) revealed five PCs such as gait characteristics, physical features, gait variability, and fitness levels. In addition, the correlation analysis showed that the preferred walking speed was significantly, positively associated with stride length and single support time, whereas it was negatively associated with double support time and gait variability.(Ed note: please confirm my modification) In conclusion, sarcopenia should be avoided in elderly people, and resistance exercise is highly recommended to help elderly people maintain their gait ability.
The Vampire has relatively universal images in through the cultural and verbal usages. The comic Higajima and movie display the latest image of Japanese Vampire of asian mode of production. After the Meiji political reformation of 18th Century, Japanese had rapidly changed into European style in every places. However, the Higajima is denied the structural changes, it is insisted that the changing is only the skin deep and colour of hair but the structure of the society is same as feudal Japan. Asian mode of production is claimed by Karl Marx, according to him, it is before the historical developing model in Europe and it was controversial. The major character of modern Japanese history would be the change of hierarchy of king-shogun-samurai-peasant based on the regional ground. The feudal structure is changed by the Meiji reformation and Japan was rushed for the westernized country rather than the asian mode of production. However, Higajima argued that the changing is just the clothes of ruler but the democracy and individual citizenship was lost in that reformation. Vampire is cursed creature that cannot see the sun and it has not the functioned as a human organ. For human it is dead but this creature actively moves and stronger than human and much superior than human in every aspects. It is managed the feeding through the suck the human blood and power to seduction. Even it is not exist, it is quite symbolic phenomenon of cultural usage of superior entity of chain of feeding. The aim of this paper is display the symbolic code Vampire of Asian mode of production in Higajima and political struggling of Japan in actual. To search of the cultural meaning and possibility of the Korean solution of modernity.
For a long time, Disney has made animations including world views such as family-focused, conservative ideology, happy ending, etc. for families. Periodical situation and spectators' demands have been changed little by little, but Disney is still a company who is the most successful both nominally and virtually in animation industry. For the secrets of their success, there is fantasy world of fabricated animation, thoroughly organized story and image. When spectators watch animations, their sufficient immersion in the fantasy is to let them forget realities. In the introduction of Disney animations, spectators turn off the switch of realities and turn on the switch of fantasy world through the procedure to recognize and confirm virtual world sufficiently. In the switch of the introduction used frequently by Disney, there are four methods. First is to start while opening the cover of storybook. Second is to start while storyteller gives a talk directly. Third is to start with live action film and continue to animation. Fourth is musical method. Those four switches play a role of the gate which distinguishes spectators' realities from Disney's fantasy clearly. The process makes an opportunity to set spectators who feel uneasy due to the vague boundary between realities and fantasy at ease and let them immerse in animation sufficiently with mind at ease.
To develop cellulase and xylanase-producing strain by protoplast fusion, alkalophilic Bacillus sp. F204 and K17 were treated with NTG(N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine) and isolated anti-biotics resistant strains of S20 (Km$^r$ , Cm$^r$) and G70 (Str$^r$). The frequency of protoplast formation was about 95% when cells of mid-log phase were treated with 200$\mu\textrm{g}$/ml Iysozyme at 37$^{\circ}C$ for 30-45 minutes. Under addition of 0.4-0.5M sodium succinate, 0.5% casamino acid, 1.5% polyvinylpyrrolidone, 25mM MgC1$_2$ and 50mM CaC1$_2$ to the regeneration medium, the regeneration frequency of Bacillus sp. F204 and K17 was 24.9% and 26.2%, respectively. The fusion frequency was 6.6$\times$10$^{-6}$ in the presence of 30% polyethylene glycol 6000 containing 50mM $Ca^{++}$ at 45$^{\circ}C$ for 5 minutes. Cellulase complex and xylanase activities of fusant were compared with parental strains.

The present study was designed to examine how sea tangle intake contributes to the content of bone calcium and breaking force of femur with growing female rats. Weaned rats were fed on experimental diets consisting in four levels of sea tangle powder; $0\%$ (control), $0.5\%$, $1.0\%$ and $1.5\%$ for 4 and 8 weeks. Body weight gain and feed intake were not significantly affected by added amount of sea tangle. Bone breaking strength, ash content and calcium levels of the femur of rats fed on diets with sea tangle were higher than those of control groups (p<0.05). But moisture content weight and length of femur did not show any significant difference among groups. TP, ALB, TC, TG, AIP, osteocalcin, GOT and GPT levels in serum did not show any significant difference through the total feeding period but calcium and phosphorus contents of serum increased with increase in feeding period, significantly in $0.05\%$ level by added amounts of sea tangle. Calcium levels in feces increased significantly (P<0.05), but ash levels were not changed significantly by added amount of sea tangle. We could expect from this results that the ingestion of sea tangle (Kjellemaniella crassifolia) could be helpfull to increase bone calcium content and calcium absorption as well as to intensify the femur stength and to increase the calcium content of rats.
