The Effects of Abscisic Acid Application Time and Times on Fruit Coloration of 'Kyoho' Grapes (Abscisic acid의 처리시기 및 횟수가 포도 '거봉'의 착색에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried to investigate the optimum time and times of abscisic acid (ABA) treatment for the coloration in 'Kyoho' grapes. The L-phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) enzyme activities were showed highly in both ABA treatments at veraison and 10 days after veraison. However, PAL enzyme was slightly higher in ABA treatment at 10 days after veraison than in that at veraison. Anthocyanin content showed a tendency that were increased during fruit development after veraison in all treatments, and was the highest in ABA treatment at 10 days after veraison. Fructose and glucose as soluble sugars were detected by HPLC and showed little differences in all treatments. In times of ABA treatment, PAL activity showed a tendency that decreased after increased in all treatments. PAL activity in 2 times treatment of ABA was higher than other treatments. Also, anthocyanin content was highest in 2 times treatment of ABA, as 5 folds of control and folds of 1 time treatment of ABA. Both fructose and glucose contents in all ABA treatments was slightly higher than control.

  • The purpose of this study was to give a quantitative analysis for assessing the tarnish resistance of alloys at the artificial saliva, 0.9% NaCI solution and Ringer's solution. In light of development in low-nobility alloys, it is important that tarnish test is standardized to analyse the tarnish properties of the compositions. There are concerns with the long term chemical stability of these alloys and the resistance to tarnish. Chemical stability is a complex problem involving alloy composition, nobility, microstructure and environment.

25년 장기간 동작된 태양전지 모듈의 열화모드 및 열화메커니즘 분석

  • 본 연구에서는 1986년에 국내 섬 지역에 설치된 태양전지 모듈을 대상으로 전기적 특성값의 열화 및 열화 원인에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 태양전지 모듈의 초기 최대 출력값은 50 W였고, 5인치 단결정 실리콘 태양전지 36개로 구성되어 있었다. 첫째로, 육안 검사를 통해서 태양전지 모듈의 열화 현상을 관찰하였다. 태양전지 모듈의 절연성은 IEC 61215의 기준으로 측정하였다. 태양전지 모듈의 전기적 특성평가를 통해서 최대 출력값의 변화량을 측정하였고, EL(Electroluminescence) 측정을 통해서 태양전지의 열화를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 분석된 주요 열화 모드는 봉지재 (Encapsulant)의 변색(Discoloration) 및 박리(Delamination)현상이었다. 봉지재의 변색된 부분 및 변색되지 않은 부분의 태양광 반사도를 측정한 결과 변색된 부위의 반사도가 증가한 것을 확인하였다. 두번째로 최대 출력전압을 태양전지 모듈에 인가한 상태에서 태양전지 각각의 온도를 T.C (Thermocouple)을 이용하여 측정하였고, 이를 통해서 태양전지의 열화와 온도와의 관계를 분석하였다. 마지막으로 태양전지 모듈의 단면분석을 통해서 봉지재의 박리현상 및 리본와이어의 솔더 접합계면을 관찰하였다. 또한, 봉지재를 제거한 후에 SEM&EDX를 통해서 리본와이어 및 금속전극의 부식현상을 분석하였다.

  • Electrochromic materials based on conducting polymers with pendant chromophores as well as their electrochromic properties are described. The conducting polymers described aye polypyrrole, polythiophene, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), poly (cyclopentadithiophene), and poly (1,4-bis [2- (3,4-ethylenedioxy) thienyl] benzene). The chromophores described are viologen and perylenetetra-carboxylic diimide. When the wavelength ranges of absorption of the conducting polymer and the chromophore aye not overlapping, multiple electrochromism was achieved. When the wavelength ranges are largely overlapping, higher contrast was achieved. An easy method for prediction of the film thickness for maximum contrast of a given electrochromic material is also described.

  • Benzyl viologen was synthesized and the electrochromic properties was examined. At an applied voltage of 2.6 V the electrocoloration was appeared but electrooptical response abruptly decreased after a certain period of time. It was a cause that the quality of the ITO film was degraded, e.g. the conductivity of the ITO film reduced from the original value. The ITO surfaces under some different conditions were observed by XRD and SEM.

Effects of Selected Stabilizers on the Color Deterioration of Crude Pigment Extract from Schizandra fruit (Schizandra Fructus) (여러 가지 안정화 물질이 오미자 색소 추출물의 가열 변색에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of selected stabilizers and sugars on color deterioration of anthocyanin in Schizandra fructus were examined at $100^{\circ}C$ for $120{\sim}180$ min. Among four test sugars, it was found that fructose accelerated the thermal color deterioration while maltose retarded the color deterioration by 40%. Maltodextrin and ${\gamma}$-cyclodextrin showed the highest stabilizing effect on the thermal color deterioration of crude pigment extract from Schizandra fructus(CPES) containing 2 mg% of anthocyanin. Addition of maltodextrin or ${\gamma}$-cyclodextin at 5% retarded thermal color deterioration of CPES. In gel system, 5% of maltodextrin also retarded the color deterioration by $15{\sim}20%$ during storage at $25^{\circ}C\;and\;35^{\circ}C$.

Research for Investigation on the Browning of Paper due to the Corrosion of the Staples Used (스테이플러 철심에 의한 종이손상의 원인 연구)

  • Since its development in the United Kingdom, the stapler has been used extensively to bind books. Staples comprising almost entirely of iron, first made in the early 1900s, are used to staple the cores of books. These staples change the colour of paper to brown and this browned paper ultimately crumbles. Basic research is being performed on solutions to prevent the deterioration in the quality of paper in the area around the staples. In this study, the cause of this browning of paper in the area was investigated. SEM-EDS, optical microscopy and FT-IR were used to analyze a browned area of three paper samples. It was found that the browned area had shortened fibres. In addition, iron was detected in this area. The corrosion of this iron led to this area of the paper being partially covered by iron(III) oxide, the product of the corrosion, as determined by FT-IR spectroscopy.
