Effect of Storage Tank Structure Variation on Fuel Shiftting (저장 탱크 구조변경이 연료유 이송에 미치는 영향)

  • To strengthen the existing regulations with respect to carbon emissions in the marine industry, there has been an increase in the number of studies focusing on realizing improvements in the utilization of vessels. While the development of new techniques related to these improvements can be costly, in this paper, we discuss a cost-effective method that may be applied directly to existing ships. The experimental data obtained suggests that the greatest reduction in energy loses can be realized by installing a double-partition wall on the storage tank of the ship, among other methods.

  • Czochralski (CZ) growth process is one of the most important techniques for growing high quality sapphire single crystal for LED application. In this study, the inductively-heated CZ growth processes for the sapphire crystal of 300 mm length have been analyzed numerically using finite element method. The hot zone structures were modified with the crucible geometry change and the additional insulation layer installed above the crucible. The results show that the solid-liquid interface height decreased from about 80 mm at initial stage to 40 mm after mid-stage due to achieve the growth speed balance. Also the optimal input power of the modified system was similar with the original one due to the compensation effects of the crucible geometry and additional insulation. The crystal temperature grown by the modified CZ grower was increased about 10 K than the original one. Therefore the sapphire crystal of 300 mm height was grown successfully.

Changes of Mooring Force due to Structural Modification of a Barge Ship (바지선 구조변경이 계류력 변화와 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • Structural modifications of a ship may cause a fatal accident such as sinking and wrecking of ship. Especially, barge ship can be easily reconstructed to load more bulk cargo. In this study, for a real accident case, change of mooring force due to structural modification was analyzed to evaluate accident risk. A two dimensional dynamic model for the barge ship was constructed to compute mooring forces with related to floating motion. The equation of motion was established in Matlab code and buoyancy was calculated by using direct integration of submerged volume. The results showed that wind force, current force, and mooring force after rebuilding was approximately 4.3 kN, 14 kN, 1,561 kN respectively. The maximum force of mooring force according to the length of mooring cable were 1,614 kN at 30 m of mooring cable. Thus, an arbitrary modification of ship lead instability and unreliable result so that illegal rebuilding of ship should be avoided.

  • 고급복합재료(advanced composite material)는 여러 가지 훌륭한 장점에도 불구하고 건설기술자에게는 그 이론이 너무 복잡하여 건설구조에 대한 응용이 지연되고 있다. [$\alpha/\beta/\beta/\gamma/\alpha/\alpha/\beta$]r, $\alpha$=-$\beta$, $\gamma$=0$^{\circ}$ 또는 90$^{\circ}$ 와 같은 몇 가지 배향각을 갖은 적층판은, r이 증가함에 따라, $B_{i,j}$강성이 0으로 접근한다(1995). 건설구조물은 그 치수가 커서 r이 증가해도 지간 대 두께비가 충분히 커서, 횡방향 변형율(${\varepsilon}_{xz}$,${\varepsilon}_{yz}$)의 영향이 무시될 수 있다. 이 경우 판의 지배방정식은 간단한 특별직교이방성판의 식으로 변화된다. 김덕현은 토목구조물에 흔히 적용될 수 있는 이러한 배향각을 가진 적층판의 지배방정식을 취급이 간단한 특별직교 이방성 판의 경우로 변경시킨 다음 해석을 더 간단히 진행할 수 있도록 기술자들이 유사 등방성 상수(quasi-isotropic constant)를 사용하여 낮익은 등방성판의 방정식을 사용하여 답을 구한 다음 그가 개발한 "수정계수(correction factor)"를 사용하여 "정확한"해를 구하는 방법을 발표한바 있다(1991).는 방법을 발표한바 있다(1991).

Numerical Simulation on a Reacting Flow Field with Various Injection conditions (소형가스터빈용 인젝터의 분무 특성에 따른 반응 유동장 전산 해석)

  • This work shows the result of numerical simulation on a reacting flow by varying atomization properties which can be obtained from a injector for a small and low power aircraft gas turbine engine. Because the atomization properties mainly affect on the performance of the engine, a lot of efficiency tests are needed when a new injector is developed. Nowadays researches has been actively performed using computational analysis. Using commercial package CFD-ACE+, basic studies on the reacting flow field have been conducted. Those results show that the reaction rate is increased when higher pressure and wider angle spray condition are used. More smaller parcels can also enhance the fuel-air reaction.

  • The main objective of thermal design for a space-borne FPA(Focal Plane Assembly) is to provide stable thermal environment during imaging operation and thus maintain the image quality. An FPA must be maintained within its operating temperature range and cooled down to its initial temperature soon enough for the next imaging operation. This paper describes the study result on performing trade-off studies for FPA thermal design by using simplified thermal node analysis about FPA preliminary design. It also describes the verification results of the study by comparing thermal analysis results and trade-off study results. According to results, we can conclude that this approach is useful for simple and quick trade-off studies without thermal analysis based on thermal math models.

  • 수도계량기(이하 "수량계")는 액체용 적산부피계로 물 사용량을 적산 계량하기 위한 기계기구 또는 장치이며 수량계 검정기준에 의해 검사기준 합격제품을 사용하서 수도요금을 징수합니다. 사실상 국내계량에 관한 법률에 의거하여 전이유량비가 6.3배수(2014년) > 4.0배수(2016년) > 1.6배수(2017년)로 점점 향상되며 2017년 기준으로 국제법정계량기구(OIML)의 성능과 같은 1.6배수까지 향상되어 국내의 수량계 기술기준이 많은 부분 향상되었습니다. 그러나 국제법정계량기구(OIML)는 현재 1.6배수의 80배수까지 검사기준에 합격에 반하여 현제 국내의 검사기준은 1.6배수의 100배수까지만 합격기준을 가지고 있습니다. 이러한 기준은 점차 발전해가고 있는 후발국가에 속하는 자국의 검사기준이 너무 갑작스럽게 국제법정계량기구(OIML)의 기준보다 높은 검사기준을 시행하며 많은 문제가 발생한 것 같습니다. 위와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위하여 여러 복합적인 부품으로 이루어진 수량계의 유량 및 유속에 영향력이 있다고 보여지는 특정 부품 혹은 부위의 개선 및 개발로 해결할 수 있지 않을까 하는 의구심에 연구를 시작되었습니다. 유량 및 유속에 영향을 끼치는 유입부의 스트레이너, 내부 임펠러의 변경으로 성능검사에서 영향을 끼치는지를 유체역학 및 유동해석 등을 통하여 테스트 후 각각 단계 및 상황별 목업금형을 제작하여 현재 국내검사기준으로 진행되는 성능테스트인 기차테스트를 진행하였습니다. 먼저 수량계의 특성상 수량계 내부의 유량을 유체역학 및 유동해석으로 정확히 뽑아내는 것이 불가능하여 유입부 유출부의 유량의 흐름을 기준으로 유체역학 및 유동해석을 진행하였습니다. 테스트 후 그 결과 값으로 유입부의 스트레이너의 삽입 각도를 0°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 270°로 각각 제작하여 테스트를 진행하였으며, 내부 임펠러는 straight, SR, SL, SL R70, SL R60, R75, SR R65 형상으로 각각 제작하여 테스트를 진행하였습니다. 전반적으로 기존의 수량계보다 높은 성능을 보여주었으며, 특정 스트레이너의 삽입각도 및 임펠러의 형상에서는 기존보다 훨씬 유수율이 절감되는 결과값이 나왔습니다. 그로 인해 검사기준에 쉽게 부합할 수 있으며 물 사용량을 보다 정확히 계측하여 정확한 수도요금을 부과하여 국세 낭비로 인한 경제적 손실을 감소할 수 있을 것 같습니다.

Effects of Baffle Structure Variation on Heat Transfer Performance in a Shell-Tube Heat Exchanger (배플 구조변경이 Shell-Tube 열교환기의 열전달성능에 미치는 영향)

  • Shell-tube heat exchanger is widely applied in industrial field by easily manufacturing as to various size and flow patterns. In this study, by changing baffle's cut direction, tilt angle and rotational angle as well as by using SST (Shear Stress Transport) $k-{\omega}$ turbulence model in ANSYS FLUENT v.14, the heat transfer rate and pressure drop characteristics of inner shell will be analyzed to improve heat transfer ability. As a result of analysis, heat transfer performance according to cut direction of baffle has been improved with vertical model B and angle $45^{\circ}$ model C than horizontal model A. In addition, the tilt $10^{\circ}$ of the baffle and rotational angle $0^{\circ}-90^{\circ}-180^{\circ}-270^{\circ}$ of model D showed better result in heat transfer rate and pressure drop.

Analysis on Running Safety for KTX Vehicle (KTX차량의 주행 안전성 해석)

  • Lateral vibration at the tail of KTX train was found during the acceptance test. In order to settle the problem of lateral vibration, the wheel conicity was changed 1/40 to 1/20. However, we should evaluate the running safety of vehicle with 1/20 wheel conicity because modification of wheel conicity may cause the running performance to be worse and critical speed to reduce. In this paper, we calculate critical speed of KTX bogie as wheel conicity increase and analyze the running safety for KTX that has 20 car trainset formation using VAMPIRE. and compare with the test results of KHST to validate analysis results on high speed line. A analysis results show that critical speed of 0.3 wheel conicity is over 375km/h and curving performance of 1/20wheel conicity is better than 1/40. Also, we examinate the running performance of KTX to check out possibility to increase speed of KTX on conventional line. A analysis results show that it is possible to increase up to 10% the speed of KTX on tangent line but KTX on a curved line should be operated with the speed of conventional train.

  • This study numerically evaluates the heat transfer characteristics of a 360-Wh Li-ion battery pack. The analysis was done in ANSYS CFX using different cell arrangements, cell holders, and case materials for a personal mobility device program. A total of four cases of cell arrangements were considered, along with various materials for both the cell holder and the case, such as polypropylene, aluminum, and magnesium alloy. Out of the four cell arrangements, model 2 showed the best heat transfer performance, while aluminum showed the best heat transfer performance for the cell holder and case.
