Herpetofauna of the Naesorak in Soraksan National Park (설악산 국립공원 내설악의 양서, 파충류상)

  • Herpetofauna of the Naesorak in Sorasan National Park was carried out both June 30, 1997~July 3, 1997. 6 species of 5 Families in Amphibian and 3 species of 3 families in Reptilian were observed in thes survey. It was observed relatively poor biota to Kaya, Sokri, and Chri National Park in Korea. There were three Specific Endangered Animal assigned by Minister of Environment such as Bufo stejnegeri, Rana dybowskii and Eremius argus. Especially Eremius argus was abundantly distributed around Limansuryonjang. So Limkansuryonjang should be conserve for Eremias argus's stable environmental condition.

  • 본 논문은 연층형 생물체의 형태를 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 고정된 카메라에 제약된 공간상에서 움직이는 생물체를 인식하기 위하여 다음과 같은 과정을 거친다. 먼저 배경 영상을 추출한 후 배경 영상과 현재 영상의 차영상을 통하여 물체의 이진화 영상을 생성하여 세선화 작업을 거친 후 마지막으로 변환된 이미지에서 대표점을 추출하여 패턴 생성기의 입력 데이터로 사용한다. 생물체의 형태 인식 방법은 문자 인식 방법과 몇 가지 차이점을 가지는데 문자의 경우 'q'와 'b'가 다르게 인식되지만 생물체의 경우 이 두 형태는 단지 하나의 형태가 회전한 결과이므로 두 형태를 동일하게 인식해야 한다. 그러므로 패턴 생성을 위한 입력 데이터도 다른 형태를 띄게 된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 지렁이, 뱀 등과 같은 물체의 행동 분석을 하기 위한 기초 데이터를 생성하는 좋은 방법이 될 수 있다.

Development of Quadrupedal Robot Mimicking the Motion of Snake (뱀의 구동원리를 이용한 4족보행 로봇의 개발)

  • Snake robots are slower than wheeled robots or legged robots, while they have an excellent terrainability in a disastrous area. Considering their advantages and disadvantages, a legged robot whose legs are snake robots, 'Quadnake' was proposed in this research. Five motions of the snake were analyzed. Applying these motions, Quadnake could implement eight kinds of motions which snake robots and quadruped walking robots can implement. As a result of it, Quadnake can have the advantages of both a snake robot and a walking robot. It is expected to move stably in a harsh terrain with snake's motion and move fast with walking.

  • A checklist of snake eels (Ophichthidae) from Korea is presented including information, such as synonyms, distribution, occurrence records and key to species of 7 genera and 14 species. Also, we suggest change of the Korean names for the snake eels (Ophichthidae) "Ba-da-baem-gwa" to "Ba-da-baem-jang-eo-gwa", and it's members, because Korean names of snake eels (Ophichthidae) is similar to those of sea snake (Hydridae).

The Healing Effect of 'Self-archetype' Manifested in the Analysis of 'Hunger' and 'Compulsive Overeating' : Investigation Focused on the 'Serpent' Imago ('배고픔'과 '폭식충동'을 주소로 하는 내담자의 분석과정에서 발현된 '자기원형'의 치유적 기능 : '뱀'의 상징을 중심으로 한 고찰)

  • Objectives : In this study I made investigations how 'strange hunger' and 'compulsive overeating' threatening the ego could be resolved and healed. And I aim to present a healing model of psychotherapy and analysis as one of methods of treatment for 'eating disorder'. Methods : The analysands of this study were outpatients who visited the department of psychiatry of Yong-In Mental Hospital from March 2008 to February 2017 with 'hunger' and 'compulsive overeating' as their chief complaints. This study is based on the detailed records of the process of analysis including dreams and visions. Results : 1) Throughout the process of analysis that explore both consciousness and unconsciousness(dream, vision), hunger and compulsive overeating is improved and healed in all analysands. 2) The Imago of 'Snake' appeared in dreams and visions of all analysands. 3) By suffering impulse rather than acting it out, impulse transformes itself into 'Imago'. As impulse transforms into 'Imago' and reveals the 'meaning' of it, ego-threatening power of impulse weakens and mood is calmed. And as a result, synthesis of consciousness and unconsciousness and creative transformation of personality can be possible. Conclusions : In some people, 'hunger' and 'compulsive overeating' are 'creative impulses' that aim 'Self-realization' which can be fruited as creative transformation of personality and as creative transformation in the relation with the world. 'Creative impulses', which often can be experienced as instinctive impulse or emotional suffering unless ego realizes the meaning, reveal the meaning in dreams or visions through 'Imago' and 'Symbol'.

Studies on the Herpetofauna for the Biodiversity Conservation of Population Community Analysis and Species Diversity in the Gyebangsan Area Kangwondo (생물다양성 보존을 위한 강원도 계방산 지역 양서, 파충류의 종다양성 및 군집분석에 관한 연구)

  • Amphibian and Reptilian specimens which were surveyed in Gyebangsan during both from Apr. 26, 1995 to Oct. 15, 1995 and from Apr. 13, 1996 to July 28, 1996 were observed 9 Species in 5 Families on 2 Orders and 10 Species in 3 Families, 5 Fimilies, 9 Species and Reptiles were 2 Suborders, 3 Families on 2 Suborders, respectively. Bombina orientalis was revealed dominant species and Bufo stejnegeri was distributed abundant on this investigation area than other survey studies. Relatively large number of larvae of Rana dybowskii were found among the stream and small ponds at the Suchung-gol valley. There were 5 species of Specific wildlife species in Korea as Hynobius leechii, Rana dybowskii, Onchodactylus fischeri, Bufo stejnegeri and Bufo bufo gargarizans. Meanwhile Bufo stejnegeri were endemic species in Korea. 6 Species among 10 Species which were observed Reptiles in this survey Scincella laterale laterale, Dinodon rufozonatus rufozonatus, Agkistrodon brevicaudus, Agkistrodon saxatilis, Amphiesma vibakari ruthveni and Enhydris rufodorsata were Specific wildlife in Korea. Scincella laterale laterale and Takydromus amuriensis were habitated very abundant in Suchung-gol region. Habitat density of Takydromus amureinsis at Suchung-gol region was 36 individuals/ha. Total number of pressed to death individuals caused by press on the road from May to July, 1995 were 404 specimens in 10 Species. The 1,2,3 and 4 Stations where were found the largest number of death individuals caused by press on the road should considered to construct Eco-corridor to reduced the death individuals with small pipes beneath the road as a migration route. Onchodactylus fischeri have around 500m as moving distance and home range for lifelong and it were the climax of broad-leaved tree and highly moisture area that abundantly region of Onchodactylus fischeri.

  • The forest communities of this area were studied phytosociologically by the method of Z$\ddot{u}$rich-Montpellier school. 1) Forest vegetation in this area divided into mountain forest(Pinus densiflora-Alnus hirsuta community) and plateau(Basin) forest(Weigela subsessilis-Athyrium yokoscense community). 2) Mountain forest(I. Pinus densiflora-Alnus hirsuta community) divided into I-A. Carpinus laxiflora group, I-B. Acer mono group., I-A. Carpinus laxiflora group is further subdivided into I-A-1. Styrax obassia subgroup, I-A-2. Lindera erythrocarpa subgroup, I-A-3. Typical subgroup, I-A-4. Zanthoxylum schinifolium subgroup. 3) Plateau(Basin) forest(II. Weigela subsessilis-Athyrium yokoscense community.) divided into II-A. Carpinus laxiflora group, II-B. Carpinus cordata-Actinidia arguta group, II-C. Typical group. II-A. Carpinus laxiflora group is further subdivided into II-A-1. Symplocos chinensis for. pilosa subgroup, II-A-2. Typical subgroup. II-A-3. Acer mono subgroup. The flora of vasicula plants distributed in Mt. Kasan area was 105 families 350 genera, 515 species, 87 varieties, 2 subspecies and 12 formae in total 616 taxa (This amount to some 64.7% of the whole plant (952 kinds) in Mt. Palgong nature area.).

The Current Status of Korean Lizards (Reptilia: Squamata) (한국산 도마뱀류의 현황)

  • We reconsidered the taxonomy of lizards in Korea on the basis of morphological characters of collected specimens and previously published data. A total of 138 specimens were used in this study, which were collected from April 1996 to October 2005, From the observations, we presented keys to classify Korean lizards. Also, we indicated sampling sites for each species on the Korean map. In addition, we added some remarks on the distribution of Gekko japonicus, the study of genus Scincella and the synonym of genus Takydromus. Especially, it was uncertain whether the southern Korean Peninsula is a natural habitat of Takydromus tachydromoides oldi which will be necessary in further study.

Development of a Snake Robot for Unstructured Environment (비정형 환경에 적용하기 위한 뱀 로봇 개발)

  • This paper shows the development of a snake robot (KAEROT-snake V) which consists of 16 1-DOF actuator modules and head module. The modules are connected serially and the joint axis of each module is rotated by $90^{\circ}$ with respect to the previous joint so that the snake robot can move in the 3D space. A tail actuator module includes slip-ring and metal connector. KAEROT-snake IV developed in prior research could move in the 3D space and climb up in a narrow pipe. But its design was not appropriate to the unstructured tough environment and its speed was somewhat slow. A new actuator module is designed to enclose all parts of the module so that any wire is not exposed. The size and weight of the new module was slightly reduced. And the rotation speed and torque of the joint was increased by about twice when compared with pre-module. An embedded controller was developed so small that it can be mounted inside the module. The performance of the developed robot was demonstrated through various locomotion experiments.
