  • When it comes to a country's traditional ideas. that country's geographic setting and religious thought show the people's consciousness, and the characteristics of historic sites and relics show their cultural aspects. Our country has 5000-year cultural history. Especially, the Baekje cultural history created very remarkable relics in our history. With regard to Baekje's own patterns and workmanship, their ornaments were more focused on the beauty of soft and voluptuous curves than that of Goguryeo and Silla This study researched design characteristics of ornaments and symbolic aspects of the patterns by focusing on crowns, crowns' accessories, earrings, necklaces, chignon ornaments of the Baekje's ornaments, To put emphasis on Baekje's ornaments by comparing Baekje's ornaments with Goguryeo's and Silla's. This study collected data on Baekje's ornaments, and reviewed domestic references and specialty publications at the Buyeo National Museum, Gong-ju National Museum, home and abroad, and studied the images of Baekje's metal crafts and patterns through theses. Baekje had splendid and glorious artistic culture, but there are not many historical data and supportive relics left these days. Therefore, a lot of attention, researches and development on Baekje culture are needed. This study found that the ornaments of the Baekje era have not only ornament functions but also the people's creative mind. The culture contents in recent technological development and industrialization change people's recognition, and now they have interest in Baekje culture. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to widely popularize Baekje by studying the patterns of the Baekje era more and developing various and new designs.

  • This paper presents a new information on animal husbandry practice in the Baekje period using stable isotope analysis of 17 animal bones excavated from the Pungnaptoseong Fortress. Stable carbon isotope evidence implies that wild animals such as deer and pigs had mainly $C_3$-based diet whereas domestic cattle and horses might have consumed more $C_4$ plants. In addition, we propose one potential that domestic pigs show higher nitrogen isotope values in comparison with wild boar because they were possibly fed by humans.

  • History is bound to change according to the interpretation of modern people, and based on this, we must find the will to practice for our future. In order to examine the ideology of a country, we can know the cultural aspect of that country through its religious ideology and its cultural heritage. This paper focuses on the stone pagoda of the Baekje period. In order to collect data on the 5-story stone pagoda of Jeongnimsaji, I would like to study the formative features of the 5-story pagoda of Jeongnimsaji by visiting the Jeongnimsaji Museum and familiarizing myself with domestic and foreign professional books, preceding papers, and references based on prior research.

  • We analyzed the provenance and petrographic characteristics for the rock properties from stone-lined tomb and stone chamber tomb at the Dorim-ri site of the Baekje Kingdom, located in Cheonan. The two tombs consist of 10 kinds of rocks including gneiss, diorite, and andesite. The major rock type is gneiss (54.3%), which composes the main chamber walls of the tombs. Diorite (11.3%) and andesite (10.6%) also make up a large percentage of the rocks, tending to be used to fill the space between the main chamber walls. Thus, the stones appear to have been used according to their shape and the disposition of the site, respectively. Investigation of their provenance, confirmed their source area to be near the Ipjang Reservoir, about 1 km away from the site, and their procurement was probably conducted via a waterway. This result might serve as basic data regarding the material procurement system of ancient tomb culture and for preservation measures for archaeological sites.

  • Dujeong-dong site of Cheonan is known as the site of Baekje period in the first half of the fourth century. This study investigated the visible properties and the chemical composition of the 18 pieces of the glass found in the site, and considered scientific properties and periodic interrelationship of the glass on the basis of the analysis result. The observation of the visible properties and microstructure of ancient glass was performed with both an electron microscope and an optical microscope, and the chemical composition was conducted by way of both quantitative and qualitative analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) with Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(EDS). In the analysis result, various chemical composition systems are identified in the glass beads of Dujeong-dong site, such as lead-barium, soda and potash glass, and also different shapes were found such as gold foil glass beads, tubular beads, and round beads. It is estimated that the classification of glass by means of its chemical composition was also closely related to the color of glass.

  • The Baekje's cotton fabrics were excavated from 'Neungsan-ri temple site in Buyeo' (September 1999-April 2000) and stored at Buyeo National Museum after conservation treatment. In this study, it carred out non-destructive, chemical and morphological analysis for fiber identification, also considered on influx, features and difference between the 'Baek-cheop-po(Three kingdom period's cotton fiber)' and 'Mok-myeon(imported by Munikjeom, late Korea dynasty)'. As a result, the fiber proved cellulose fiber through analytical researches like color reaction, FT-IR(chemical analysis). It was also confirmed lumens, typical dimensional structure(morphological analysis) as an features of cotton fiber. The fiber was the first evidence in ancient Korea's cotton. But it can not prove that whether weaving were made in Baekje's area. However there were documentation that people in Beakje make cloth to silk fabric from 'Mahan period'. We can suppose that they have had an old weaving techniques. This study has a great historical, academic values as the only evidence for the hypothesis of a weaving technique of the Baekje's cotton. Through comparison to each region's ancient cottons, we can investigate the species of Baekje's cotton and ancient Korea cotton's influx.

  • In this paper, we proposed an augmented reality(AR) service for the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner of Beakje - one of Korea's national treasures - using smart glasses. The proposed AR service was developed using Microsoft's HoloLens 2, MRTK, and Unity programs. The proposed service starts when the user wears HoloLens 2 and looks at a QR code next to the displayed the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner. Then, the proposed service visually provides users with the historical explanation of the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner and the objects in it. In particular, the proposed service augments virtual 5 musicians of the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner so that users can experience the performance culture of the Baekje era. Therefore, we can provide users with the value and meaning of the cultural heritage of the Baekje era as an expanded experience by using the virtual 5 musicians to overcome the current temporal and spatial constraints. We can confirm whether the proposed AR service is provided to users through HoloLens 2, in harmony with the Great Gilt-bronze Incense Burner of Baekje, a cultural heritage.
