GHGs Emissions Calculation Method and Influence Factors (온실가스 배출량 산정 방법 및 영향 요인 연구)

  • Purpose: Greenhouse gases are one of the major causes of global warming, a global disaster. In this study, the priority that affects when calculating the GHG emissions in the road sector is accurately calculated based on the speed of individual vehicles from the existing section average speed. I have the purpose of finding a possible factor. Method: A comparative analysis is conducted between the conventional method of the general passage section, the rest area section, the entrance section, and the confluence section of the highway and the speed-based emission calculation method of individual vehicles. Result: As a result of analyzing a total of 6 sections of the Gyeongbu Expressway, it was found that the standard deviation of the speed and the congestion of the sections had a great influence. Conclusion: When comparing the existing GHG emission calculation method with the speed-based emission calculation method of individual vehicles, it is clear that the speed-based method of individual vehicles is more precise. However, since it is difficult to apply it all over the country, this study compares the existing method with the speed-based method of individual vehicles and presents factors that have a significant difference.

  • 국내 도시는 1960년대이후의 산업화에 따라 인구와 산업이 도시로 집중되어 급속하고 거대한 성장을 이루었고 대기오염 현상의 다양화, 복합화로 인해 스모그와 시정장애 등 새로운 오염현상이 심각해지고 있다. 도시지역 대기중의 오염물질 농도수준은 오염 배출원의 분포 및 배출강도 그리고 지역의 지형, 기상 요인 등 많은 요인에 따라 좌우된다. 특히, 대도시는 경제ㆍ사회ㆍ문화 등 다양한 요소들이 복합적으로 상호 작용하는 유기체적인 공간으로 특정 지역에로의 집중과 분산이 일어나면서 다양한 공간구조(예; 신시가지, 산업단지 등)를 만들어 가고(이광국 등) 이런 변화에 따라 대기오염의 공간적 분포 경향 역시 달라져 갈 것이다. Evaluation of $N_2O$ Emissions with Changes of Soil Temperature, Soil Water Content and Mineral N in Red Pepper and Soybean Field (고추와 콩 재배에서 토양온도, 토양수분과 무기태질소 변화에 따른 아산화질소 배출 평가)

  • Importance of climate change and its impact on agriculture and environment has increased with a rise of greenhouse gases (GHGs) concentration in Earth's atmosphere. Nitrous oxide ($N_2O$) emission in upland fields were assessed in terms of emissions and their control at the experimental plots of National Academy of Agricultural Science (NAAS), Rural Development Administration (RDA) located in Suwon city. It was evaluated $N_2O$ emissions at different soil water content, soil temperature, and mineral N conditions in a upland cultivating red pepper and soy bean. The results were as follows: 1) There were significant correlation between amount of $N_2O$ emissions and soil temperature, soil water content and mineral N conditions showed $0.528^{**}$, $0.790^{***}$ and $0.937^{***}$ in red pepper field and $0.658^{***}$, $0.710^{***}$ and $0.865^{***}$ in soybean field, respectively. 2) From the contribution rate analysis as to contribution factors for $N_2O$ emission, it appeared that contribution rate was in the order of mineral N (71.9%), soil moisture content (23.6%), and soil temperature (4.5%) in pepper field and mineral N (65.5%), soil moisture contents (19.2%), and soil temperature (15.2%) in soybean field.

Evaluation of CO2 Emission to Changes of Soil Water Content, Soil Temperature and Mineral N with Different Soil Texture in Pepper Cultivation (고추재배에서 토성별 토양수분, 토양온도, 무기태질소 변화에 따른 CO2 배출량 평가)

  • Several researchers have proposed models or equations to predict soil $CO_2$ flux from more readily available biotic and abiotic measurement. Tree commonly used abiotic variables were N mineral and soil temperature and soil water content. This study was conducted to determine $CO_2$ emission to mineral N, soil water content and soil temperature with clay loam and sandy loam in pepper cultivation in 2004~2005. $CO_2$ flux in the upland with different levels of soil water potential was measured at least once in two weeks during the cropping period in the pepper cultivation plots. Soil water potential in the clay loam and sandy loam soils was established at -30kPa and -50kPa by measuring the soil gravimetric water content with two replications. $CO_2$ emission rate from the differently managed plots was highly correlation coefficient to between the mineral N ($R=0.830^{**}$, $0.876^{**}$) and soil temperature ($r^2=0.793^{**}$, $0.804^{**}$) in the clay loam and sandy loam, respectively. However, the relationships between $CO_2$ emission and soil water content were non-significant. $CO_2$ emissions at sandy loam soils was lower to 21~37% than at clay loam soils for both soil water conditions without differences in yield. At difference levels of soil water conditions, $CO_2$ emission at -50kPa decreased to 37.5% in comparison with that at -30kPa. From the path analysis as to contribution factors of GHGs, it appeared that contribution rate was in the order of soil temperature (54.9%), mineral N (32.7%), and soil moisture content (12.4%).

계절 및 지역에 따른 참나무의 이소프렌 배출특성

  • 졸참나무와 상수리나무를 대상으로 계절에 따른 지역(금성산, 지리산 지역)별 이소프렌 배출특성이 비교되었다. 여름철의 지역적 차이는 졸참나무의 경우 다소 약하게 나타났으며, 상수리나무의 경우에는 거의 비슷하게 나타났다. 그러나, 가을철 졸참나무의 경우에는 금성산 지역이 지리산 지역보다 높은 배출속도를 보이는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 지역적 차이가 나타난 것은 성장조건, 기후, 토질 등의 요인이 이소프렌 배출특성에 영향을 주었기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

Exploring Residents' Attitudes in Multifamily Housing Toward Food Waste Zero-Emission System with Fermentation and Extinction Technology (발효·소멸 기술을 이용한 음식물 쓰레기 무배출 시스템에 대한 공동주택 거주자의 태도에 관한 분석)

  • As environmental sustainability becomes a key consideration in policy-making, more responsible consumption and utilization in daily life concern both health and quality of life. To address inequities in health in relation to environments, waste management has taken more progressive ways, and one of them is biomass-to-energy conversion that utilizes energy recovery from food waste. By extension, a food waste zero-emission system using fermentation and extinction technology gains much attention, so that this study is designed to examine residents' attitudes toward recycling food waste produced at home and toward food waste zero-emission system. Utilizing a survey questionnaire, this research collected data from 400 individual units of multifamily housing estates nationwide, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings indicate that food waste generated at home was highly water-contained and produced in the stage of food preparation before cooking while respondents viewed that food waste collection and treatment needed to be improved. It's noted that respondents strongly supported the use of food waste as a energy source and would have the use of the food waste zero-emission system built in kitchen sink. Regression analysis showed that educational attainment of housewives, cooking style, and planning food purchase were statistically significant factors in the attitude of the responded residents toward recycling food waste while none of the factors were in the attitude toward the food waste zero-emission system.

  • This study analyzes the factors affecting China's carbon emissions from 1985 to 2016. In recent years, the whole industries of China are in the midst of industrialization and have several problems. Now, the low-carbon economy has become the main task of China's economic development. This study analyzes the factors affecting China 's carbon emissions by selecting relevant data onto the Chinese yearbook and using a time series model. The analysis shows that related industries continue to innovate and increase the use of green energy such as electricity, but coal is still the largest share of the energy consumed. As energy use efficiency increases and industrial R&D investment increases year by year, carbon emissions are increasing every year. In addition, there is a stereotype that industry is the biggest factor affecting carbon emissions. The research found that the impact of the industry on China's carbon emissions is declining gradually. While controlling industrial carbon emissions, keeping continue to improve technology development and focusing on carbon emissions from other industries are critical to reduce overall carbon emissions. Based on the empirical results, if we can change stereotypes starting from the nature of the data, we will quickly reach a low carbon sustainable development economy.

EKC Hypothesis Testing for the CO2 Emissions of Korea Considering Total Factor Productivity: Focusing on the CO2 Emissions by Region and GRDP (총요소생산성을 고려한 한국의 CO2 배출량에 대한 EKC 가설 검증: 지역별 CO2 배출량과 GRDP를 중심으로)

  • This research tested the EKC (Environment Kuznets Curve) Hypothesis using the $CO_2$ Emissions by region and GRDP. We built the panel data set on the 15 local government region from 1990 to 2010 for this analysis. GRDP, population and total factor productivity was considered as the factors influencing on the regional $CO_2$ Emissions. Analysis method in this research is panel GLS model as Lantz and Feng (2006). The results show that the EKC hypothesis did not hold in Korea but there is inverted U relationship between the $CO_2$ Emissions and total factor productivity. As the total factor productivity grows, the $CO_2$ increased but decreased after a certain level.

The Return Migration of Koreans in Central Asia to the Russian Far East (중앙아시아 고려인의 러시아 극동 지역 귀환 이주)

  • The purpose of this study is to systematically explain and discuss the return migration of Koreans in Central Asia to the Russian Far East. The Koreans' return migration is explained by the combination of push and pull factors inherent in the host and home countries. The structural or institutional push factors in Central Asia include the linguistic policy of a country, civil war, ethnic conflicts, while the micro ones are the Koreans' high concern of their children's education and the improvement of a socio-economic status. The macro pull factors operated in the Russian Far East are the permission to use the housing facilities and land previously controlled by military authorities and the laws of recovering the koreans' basic right and honor, while the micro ones are the networks of relatives and friends living in Central Asia and the Russian Far East. The two aspects related to the Koreans' return migration are also discussed. Firstly, the return migration of Koreans in Central Asia is interpreted as a migration of ethnic affinity. Secondly, the establishment of an autonomous district of Koreans in the Russian Far East is discussed.

  • The Kyoto Mechanisms allows a supplementary means for compliance, CDM(Clean Development Mechanism) and JI(Joint Implementation) projects. The investment in CDM projects is increasing rapidly as the first implementation period began in 2008. This paper seeks to determine factors affecting the price of primary CER using UNFCCC CDM Project Development Document(PDD) data. This study employs the Cluster analysis and the GLS(Generalized Least Squares) method.
