  • It is studied that the measuring method of the spectral emissivity by using hemispherical mirror with an inclined observation hole. The in-service calibration method of mirror reflectivity is also dealed with. It is possible to apply this method on measuring emissivity of conductor or non-conductor.

  • 우리나라는 한국전쟁 후 전쟁고아 해외입양이 많이 이뤄져, 한 때 '아기 수출국'이라는 꼬리표를 달고 있었다. 전쟁이 끝나고 50년이 지난 지금도 여전히 많은 아이가 외국으로 입양되고 있다. 입양인들은 대개 한국에 대한 그리움을 품고 살지만 또 다른 한편에는 버려졌다는 원망을 간직하고 있다. 이처럼 상처 많은 입양인에게 고국은 그리움과 배신이 교차하지만 꼭 한번은 방문해 보고 싶은 나라였다. 이들에게 고국방문의 용기와 희망을 북돋워주는 이가 있다. 바로 진흥문화 박경진 회장이다.

A Numerical Method for One-dimensional Inverse Heat Conduction Problem Using Laplace Transform (라플라스 변환을 이용한 1차원 열전도의 수치해석)

  • An numerical method to estimate thermal diffusivity has been developed for one-dimensional unsteady heat conduction problem, when the temperatures are know at two positions in a semi-infinite body. Using the closed form solution which has already derived an explicit solution for the inverse problem for one-dimensional transient heat conduction using Laplace transform technique, we first estimate the surface temperature. The thermal diffusivity can be estimated by using the estimated surface temperature and measured temperatures, which include some uncertainties. The estimated surface heat flux and thermal diffusivity are found to be in good agreement with those of the experimented conditions. This method will be extended to the simultaneous measurement of thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity.

  • The theoretical model for the transient probe method is the modified Jaeger model which is used perfect line source theory. The transient probe technique has been developed for the simultaneous determination of thermal conductivity, diffusivity and volumetric heat capacity of liquids. The Levenberg-Marquardt iteration method is adapted to obtain thermal property within nonlinear range. Experimental results of liquids were found to agree well with recommended thermal property data.

  • A mathematical model of freeze drying by sublimation was suggested and used to estimate the drying time. Under the various conditions, the drying time of pure water and carrot was numerically calculated for the suggested model. Optimal policies of freeze drying were investigated experimentally in a laboratory freeze dryer. It was found that the shortest drying times could be obtained when the chamber pressure and condenser temperature were kept at their lowest values and the best method of heat transfer for sublimation was the conduction involving radiation. The sublimation drying period was finished when the bottom temperature of material could be reached at near $0^{\circ}C$ from frozen temperature.

  • Six sigma activities in an information and communication technology company in Korea are introduced. Korea Telecom(KT) was a public company for a long time and became a private enterprise not long ago. Although this company adopted many innovation programs, they were not effective because of the company's characteristics : long-time government-owned and information service industry. This paper describes the reason why KT introduced six sigma, some implementation strategy, and key factors to successfully deploy it. This paper is expected to be helpful to public or service industry in which it is very difficult to implement innovation activities.

  • The objective of the present work is to evaluate the evaporation heat flux of deposited droplet on the hot surface by using of inverse heat transfer technique. On the basis of measured temperature, a integral form solution is determined for the transient temperatures beyond the two positions by using Green's function technique. This method first approximates the temperature data with a half polynomial series of time. we compared this result with constant radius model in single phase regime, nucleate boiling regime, film boiling regime respectively. this paper performed the experiments as following conditions: (a)the surface temperature is within the range between $80^{\circ}C\;and\;160^{\circ}C$ in the conduction, (b) droplet diameter are 2.4 and 3.0mm. (c) surface roughness is $0.18{\mu}m$.

  • Effects of physical properties of garlic paste and freeze dry control parameters on the sublimation drying time were investigated to verify optimal operating method in freeze drying. A mathematical model of freeze drying by sublimation was suggested and used to estimate the drying time of garlic paste. Under various conditions, the drying time of garlic paste was calculated using the computer program for the suggested model. Among the physical properties of garlic paste, melting temperature was evaluated the most important factor in affecting the drying time. In supplying methods of the required heat energy for sublimation, it would be the best way to control the upper plate temperature and the lower plate temperature independently.

Effects of the in-process calibration from IR detector for thermal diffusivity measurement by laser flash method (레이저 섬광법에 의한 열확산계수 측정시 적외검출소자에서 실시간 온도보정이 미치는 영향)

  • For measuring the thermal diffusivity by laser flash method, raw data have to be calibrated using temperature data. We have developed in-process calibration method and polynomial calibration in which thermal diffusivity can be calibrated during measuring, This method is different from existing temperature pre-process calibration method and exponential calibration having various source of error. Using this new calibration method, measurement accuracy was improved about 1∼2% compare to the value by the existing method. We also studied more accurate fitting curve as in Figure 4 was shown the result of measuring output characteristics of IR radiometer with temperature. As illustrated in data, in-process calibration method and polynomial calibration equation is proper than pre-process calibration method and exponential calibration.

  • The variation of thermal diffusivity with respect to rolling reduction is experimentally determined by flash technique. Copper alloy is used as an experimental and specimens are cut from the slab produced by rolling process with different percent reduction in thickness along the rolling direction and with 30.deg. 60.deg. and 90.deg. angle to the rolling direction. It is found that thermal diffusivity is slightly decreased as rolling reduction increased, and it has tendency that thermal diffusivity is increased slightly as its angle approached to 90.deg. at same rolling reduction.
