ESPRIT target position estimation with uniform linear array and uniform circular array (등간격 선형어레이와 등간격 원형어레이 레이더를 위한 ESPRIT 표적 위치 추정 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an ESPRIT based algorithm for target position estimation with uniform linear array (ULA) and uniform circular array (UCA) at transmitter and receiver, respectively. When UCA is adopted at the receiver, unlike the case of ULA at the receiver, the rotational invariance of the received signal is satisfied. Although there has been an attempt to resolve this issue, the problem of direction of departure estimation has not been considered. In this paper, we provide an ESPRIT based algorithm to simultaneously estimate transmitter elevation angle, receiver elevation angle, and receiver azimuth angle, taking into account the transmitter antennas as well as the receiver antennas.

Identification of Sound Source Location Generated by Shock Wave for Medical Treatment (의료용 충격파에 의해 발생하는 음원 위치의 확인)

  • When the piezoelectric extracorporeal shock wave lithotripter is operated. sounds are generated. In this paper, we present a fact that the sounds are radiated undoubtedly from the object to be hit by the shock waves. For this results. we use the method to identify the sound source location of the radiated sounds by estimating the distance and the bearing from the sound source using one hydrophone. In addition. we investigate the relation between the radiated sounds and the vibrations of the objects using bronze models of disc type with clear vibrating characteristics and present the results of experiments to be analyzed.

A Study of Improved CSP coefficient using Synchronous Addition Methods in Target tracking System. (표적추적 시스템에서 동기가산법을 이용한 CSP계수 향상에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 표적 추적 시스템에서 센서 어레이에 입사되는 표적신호에 대한 센서 출력 신호간의 지연시간 추정(TDE:Time Delay Estimation)을 위해 백색상호 상관법(CSP:Cross-Power Spectrum Phase Analysis)을 이용한다. 그러나 음파의 다중경로 전달특성 및 배경잡음의 영향으로 인해 CSP계수는 많은 클러터(Clutter)를 포함하게 되고 결국 방위 추정 오차의 요인이 된다. 따라서 센서 어레이 중심좌표를 기준으로 대칭 배열된 센서쌍(Pair)에 대한 CSP계수를 동기가산 하여 실제 표적 방향 이외의 방향정보를 제거하는 방법을 제안한다. 시간에 따라 각도를 변침하는 표적에 대한 표적기동분석 (BOTMA:Bearings Only Target Motion Analysis)을 위해 매 관측시간마다 동기가산을 행한 CSP결과를 누적하여 방위각 궤적을 형성하였을 때 시간 Window에 따라 약간의 차이는 있지만 약 10dB의 궤적 추적 성능을 확인하였다.

Localization Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks Using a Directional Antenna (지향성 안테나를 이용한 무선 센서 네트워크에서의 위치 인식 알고리즘)

  • The proposed algorithm to be explained in this paper is the localization technique using directional antenna. Here, it is assumed that anchor node has the ability to transfer the azimuth of each sector using GPS modules, sector antenna, and the digital compass. In the conventional sensor network, the majority of localization algorithms were capable of estimating the position information of the sensor node by knowing at least 3 position values of anchor nodes. However, this paper has proposed localization algorithm that estimates the position of nodes to continuously move with sensor nodes and traveling nodes. The proposed localization mechanisms have been simulated in the Matlab. The simulation results show that our scheme performed better than other mechanisms (e.g. MCL, DV-distance).

  • In recent days, some techniques to prevent from radar detection have been applied on aircraft system. RWR(Radar Warning Receiver) can be used for estimating the source location of the aircraft which emits radar pulse. Current existing method of localizing radar pulse emission source is using AOA(Angle Of Arrival) and most techniques are focused on finding exact AOA to find exact location. In this case, however, the exact AOA does not always result in finding exact source location while target aircraft is moving fast. In this paper, a localization method using the phase delay of the radar pulse's low frequency applies and so a scanning method for the interest area does in order to estimate exact source location by using phase delay.

  • In sonar systems, the passive ranging of a target is an active research area. This paper analyzed the performance of passive ranging based on an array invariant method for different environmental and sonar parameters. The array invariant developed for source range estimation in shallow water. The advantages of this method are that detailed environmental information is not required, and the real-time ranging is possible since the computational burden is very small. Simulation was performed to verify the algorithm. And this method is applied to sea-going experimental data in 2013 near Jinhae port. This study shows the performance of ranging for source orientation, transmission signal length, and length of a receiver through numerical simulation experiments. Also, the results using nested array and uniform line arrays are compared.

  • In active sonar system, aspect angle and length of a target can be estimated by calculating the cross-correlation between left and right split-beams of a LFM(Linear Frequency Modulated) signal. However, high-resolution performances in bearing and range are required to estimate the information of a remote target. Because a certain higher sampling frequency than the Nyquist sampling frequency is required in this performance, an over-sampling process through interpolation method should be required. However, real-time implementation of split-beam processing with over-sampled split-beam outputs on a COTS(commercial off-the-shelf) DSP platform limits its performance because of given throughput and memory capacity. This paper proposes a cumulative processing algorithm for split-beam processing to solve the problems. The performance of the proposed method was verified through some simulation tests. Also, the proposed method was implemented as a real-time system using an ADSP-TS101.

A Study on DOA Estimation Using Dipole Array Antenna Based on MoM (MoM 기법에 의한 다이폴 배열 안테나의 신호 방향 추정 방법 연구)

  • Direction estimation of signal of interest has been an important issue in radar and communication system. Generally, DOA(Direction Of Arrival) methods have been researched in the field of signal processing with ideal array sensors. However, there are some problems in array antennas such as the input signal distortions in amplitude and phase, due to the mutual coupling between array elements. In this paper, we propose a new method of DOA estimation in the dipole array antenna by using the method of moment(MoM) to compensate the mutual coupling effects between array antenna elements. Also, the proposed method is applied to the estimation of azimuth(${\phi}$ ) and elevation(${\theta}$) angles using uniformly linear dipole array under noisy environments.

  • Attitude determination algorithms for aircraft and land vehicles use earth gravitational vector and geomagnetic vector; hence, magnetometers and accelerometers are employed. In dynamic situation, the output from accelerometers includes not only gravitational vector but also motional acceleration, thus it is hard to determine accurate attitude. The acceleration compensation method treated in this paper solves the problem to compensate the specific force vector for motional acceleration calculated by a GPS receiver. This paper analyzed the error from the corrected vector regarded as a constant by conventional acceleration compensation method, and improve the error by rederivation from measurements. The analyzed error factors and improvements by the proposed algorithm are verified by computer simulations.

A Novel PV Tracking System Control Considering the Power Loss with Change of Insolation (일사량 변화에 다른 전력손실을 고려한 새로운 태양광 추적 시스템 제어)

  • In this paper proposes a novel tacking algorithm regarding the power loss when operating a tracking system for a rapidly changing insolation to improve the power of PV hacking system. The tracking system of sensor method used in a conventional PV power station is unable to exactly track a sun position when lacking in the intensity of radiation and has the problem is malfunction of tracking system by a rapidly changing climatic. The tracking system of program method spends too much energy on the unnecessary operation of tracking system because that is unable to adapt itself to a outside factor of climatic environment. In case of tracking an azimuth and altitude of the sun in realtime, therefore, the actual PV power is less increasing than the power of tracking system fixed a specific position. To reduce the power loss, this pap proposes a novel control algorithm of the tracking system. Also, this paper is analyzed efficiency of traditional solar tracking method and proposed method, prove validity of proposed algorithm through demonstrable study.
