  • In order to evaluate the sensor`s look direction bias in the Landsat TM image and to estimate trends of primary geological lineaments, we have attempted to systematically compare lineaments in TM image, relief shadowed DEM's, and actual lineaments of geologic and topographic map through the Hough transform technique. Hough transform is known to be very effective to estimate the trend of geological lineaments, and help us to obtain the true trends of lineaments. It is often necessary to compensate the preferential enhancements of terrain lineaments in a TM image occurred by to look direction bias, and that can be achieved by utilizing an auxiliary data. In this study, we have successfully adopted the relief shadowed DEM in which the illuminating azimuth angle is perpendicular to look direction of a TM image for assessing true trends of geological lineaments. The results also show that the sum of four relief shadowed DEM's directional components can possibly be used as an alternative. In Euiseong-gun area where Sindong Group and Mayans Group are mainly distributed, geological lineaments trending $N5^{\circ}$~$10^{\circ}$W are dominant, while those of $N55^{\circ}$~$65^{\circ}$ W are major trends in Cheongsong-gun area where Hayang Group, Yucheon Group and Bulguksa Granite are distributed. Using relief shadowed DEM as an auxiliary data, we found the $N55^{\circ}$~$65^{\circ}$ W lineaments which are not cleanly observed in TM image over Euiseong-gun area. Compared with the trend of Gumchon and Gaum strike-slip faults, these lineaments are considered to be an extension of the faults. Therefore these strike-slip faults possibly extend up to Sindong Group in the northwest parts in the study area.

  • An Electro-Optical Tracking System (EOTS) is an electric optical system with EO/IR cameras, laser sensors, and an IMU. The EOTS calculates coordinates of targets, using attitude and acceleration measured by the IMU. In particular for an armed aircraft, the performance of the weapon system depends on how quickly and accurately it acquires the target coordinates. The IMU should be operated after alignment is complete, to meet the coordinate accuracy required by the weapon system so the initial stabilization time of the IMU should be reduced, by quickly measuring the attitude and acceleration. Alignment is the process of determining the initial attitude by resolving the attitude error of the IMU, and the IMU of mission equipment such as an airborne EOTS, uses velocity matching based on the velocity from GPS/INS for aircraft navigation. In this paper, a method is presented to improve the transfer alignment performance of the airborne EOTS, by maneuvering aircraft and the mission equipment. First, the performance factor of the alignment was identified, as a heading error through the velocity matching model and simulation results. Then acceleration maneuvers and attitude changes were necessary, to correct the error. As a result of flight tests applied to an EOTS on a OOO aircraft system, the transfer alignment performance was improved as the duration time was decreased, by more than five times when the aircraft accelerated by more than 0.2g and the EOTS was moving until 6.7deg/s.

  • Hall sensors of BLDC(brushless DC) motor are used to detect a position information for a control mechanism, which implements an algorithm for velocity and position control. Actual azimuth and altitude were measured to evaluate a control precision. The measurement revealed comparatively good accuracy that the measured values were $2.02^{\circ}$ and $1.01^{\circ}$ respectively, and the maximum error falls within $1.86^{\circ}$. The developed monitoring system of photovoltaic generation plants is a LCU(Local Control Unit) based on an integrated monitoring system which supports 1:N method for multiple simultaneous connections, remote control and real-time system state monitoring.

  • This paper presents a new point navigation guidance law which is useful for unmanned helicopters. Predicting the future position, the guidance law generates velocity and heading commands, which are used as input to autopilot. This method differs from conventional guidance law in that it reorients the direction of flight velocity vector directly, not by bank angle indirectly. For flight tests, we have developed a flight control system for a R/C helicopters. The system consists of a flight control computer, navigation sensors, and a ground station The results of the test show that the proposed law guides a unmanned helicopter along a line path within a given area. In the future, we are planning to extend the guidance law to the mission of path following. i.e., waypoint navigation.

  • In this paper proposes a novel tacking algorithm regarding the power loss when operating a tracking system for a rapidly changing insolation to improve the power of PV hacking system. The tracking system of sensor method used in a conventional PV power station is unable to exactly track a sun position when lacking in the intensity of radiation and has the problem is malfunction of tracking system by a rapidly changing climatic. The tracking system of program method spends too much energy on the unnecessary operation of tracking system because that is unable to adapt itself to a outside factor of climatic environment. In case of tracking an azimuth and altitude of the sun in realtime, therefore, the actual PV power is less increasing than the power of tracking system fixed a specific position. To reduce the power loss, this pap proposes a novel control algorithm of the tracking system. Also, this paper is analyzed efficiency of traditional solar tracking method and proposed method, prove validity of proposed algorithm through demonstrable study.

  • In this paper proposed the solar tracking system to use a fuzzy based on PC in of order to increase an output of the PV(Photovoltaic) array. The solar tracking system operated two DC motors driving by signal of photo sensor. The control of dual axes is not an easy task due to nonlinear dynamics and unavailability of the parameters. Recently, artificial intelligent control of the fuzzy control, neural-network and genetic algorithm etc. have been studies. The fuzzy control made a nonlinear dynamics to well perform and had a robust and highly efficient characteristic about a parameter variable as well as a nonlinear characteristic. Hence the fuzzy control was used to perform the tracking system after comparing with error values of setting-up, nonlinear altitude and azimuth. In this paper designed a fuzzy controller for improving output of PV array and evaluated comparison with efficient of conventional PI controller. The data which were obtained by experiment were able to show a validity of the proposed controller.

  • The CleanSYS(Clean SYStem) is operated to monitor air pollutants emitted from specific industrial complexes in Korea. So the industrial complexes without the system are directly monitored by the control officers. For efficient monitoring, studies using various sensors have been conducted to monitor air pollutants emitted from industrial complex. In this study, hyperspectral sensors were used to model and verify the equations for estimating the concentration of $NO_2$(nitrogen dioxide) in air pollutants emitted. For development of the equations, spectral radiance were observed for $NO_2$ at various concentrations with different SZA(Solar Zenith Angle), VZA(Viewing Zenith Angle), and RAA(Relative Azimuth Angle). From the observed spectral radiance, the calculated value of the difference between the values of the specific wavelengths was taken as an absorption depth, and the equations were developed using the relationship between the depth and the $NO_2$ concentration. The spectral radiance mixed gas of $NO_2$ and $SO_2$(sulfur dioxide) was used to verify the equations. As a result, the $R^2$(coefficient of determination) and RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) were different from 0.71~0.88 and 72~23 ppm according to the form of the equation, and $R^2$ of the exponential form was the highest among the equations. Depending on the type of the equations, the accuracy of the estimated concentration with varying concentrations is not constant. However, if the equations are advanced in the future, hyperspectral sensors can be used to monitor the $NO_2$ emitted from the industrial complex.
