The establishment of orthodontic web server multimedia database system for continuing education (임상교정 교육용 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 웹서버 구축에 관한 연구)

  • The Objective of this research was to construct the multimedia database system that was necessary for the education of the practitioners and the students. To establish this system, there were technical problems as follows 1) The processing of the images, 2) The rapid processing of the information with the computer network, 3) The development of diagnosis tools, 4) The technique to establish the database system, 5) The link between the database system and the internet, and 6) The method to educate through many cases. The analysis for diagnosis and treatment planning were provided as two parts : model analysis and cephalometric analysis. As a model analysis, arch length discrepancy and Bolton tooth ratio were provided for the part of patient information. Cephalometric analyses were provided in the part of initial diagnosis. The Cephalometric analysis ver 2.0 and the PowerCeph pro 3.3.5 were used to show Tweed, Steiner and Jarabak analysis. In the main part, Kim's analysis and some measurements were added. Monitoring of Commercial Red Pepper Powders for Their Irradiation Status (물리적 확인시험법을 이용한 시판 유통 중인 고춧가루의 방사선 조사여부 판별 모니터링)

  • Ten commercially available red pepper powders were investigated using photostimulated-luminescence (PSL), thermoluminescence (TL) and electron spin resonance (ESR) analyses to confirm their irradiation status. The application of PSL, TL, and ESR analyses was also confirmed by in-house irradiation. In PSL-based screening, all samples gave negative photon counts (<700 PCs). The PSL calibration dose (1 kGy) showed a low sensitivity of 4 samples, while the others provided reliable screening results. TL glow curves demonstrated maximum peaks after $250^{\circ}C$ for the 6 samples; however 4 samples gave complex TL glow curves with maximum peaks in the range of $185-260^{\circ}C$ (radiation-specific), which could be the effect of an irradiated component in low concentration as the TL ratios of all samples were <0.1. Radiation-specific ESR features were absent in the all commercial samples. Variable irradiation detection properties were found; where the TL analysis showed the possible presence of an irradiated component in 4 samples requiring further monitoring and investigation.

Effect of Irradiation Time after Harvesting and Irradiation Dose on its Storability of Potatoes (감자 수확후(收穫後) 방사선(放射線) 조사시기(照射時期) 및 조사선량(照射線量)이 그 저장성(貯藏性)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • In order to determine the optimun condition for the long term storage of potatoes by irradiation combined with natural low temperature, the dose range and irradiation time after harvesting of two varieties were investigated. Although optimum dose of potatoes and was different according to the variety 12.5krad seemed optimum untill 15-30 day after harvesting and 15krad was for later than 45 day after harvesting. The sooner the irradiation was efficient after harvesting. Optimum dose irradiated group were better in change of sprouting, rotting, weightloss and shrivelling and was extended the storage period more than four months compared with control at natural low temperature storage room.

Verification of Viscosity Measurement for Identifying Irradiated Brown Rice (현미의 방사선 처리여부 판별을 위한 점도측정법의 검증)

  • Brown rice of Korea and China was irradiated at doses ranging from 0 to 15 kGy to verify the identification properties of viscosity measurement by determining the relationship between starch content and specific parameters. The starch contents of brown rice were 71.52 and 64.58% for rice of Korea and China, respectively. Additionally, a higher starch content was associated with a higher viscosity. The viscosity and the corresponding specific parameters decreased significantly as the irradiation dose increased, and these changes were influenced by the spindle speed (50, 150, 300 rpm), with a higher effect being observed at lower speeds. The determination coefficients ($R^2$) describing the relationship between irradiation dose and viscosity values ranged from 0.9423 to 0.9567 in Korean samples and from 0.9119 to 0.9387 in Chinese samples. The viscosity and the corresponding specific parameters enabled identification of the non-irradiated and irradiated brown rice from 30 unknown samples with an accuracy of 90%. Based on these findings, the viscosity and specific parameters can be applied as an additional tool for screening of irradiated brown rice.

  • Iterative reconstruction of CT takes a long time because projection and back-projection are alternatively repeated until taking a good image. To reduce the reconstruction time, we need a fast algorithm for calculating the projection which is a time-consuming step. In this paper, we proposed a new algorithm to calculate the line integral and the algorithm is approximately 10% faster than the well-known Siddon method (Jacobs version) and has a good image quality. Although the algorithm has been investigated for the case of parallel beams, it can be extended to the case of fan and cone beam geometries in the future.

  • 2014년 12월, 한국수력원자력의 사이버테러, 이란의 원자력 농축시설을 대상으로 한 사이버공격 등 국내외에서 원자력시설을 대상으로 한 사이버공격이 발생하고 있다. 이에 따라, 사이버보안 중요성이 증가하면서 방사선 재해방지와 공공의 안전을 위한 효과적인 규제체계의 필요성이 증가하였다. 한국원자력통제기술원은 개정된 방사능방재법에 따라 2014년부터 사이버보안 정기검사를 수행하고 있으며, 정기검사에 활용할 취약점 점검툴을 통해 정기검사의 효과성 및 수행능력을 향상시키고자 한다.

Effect of Corona Discharge on the Changes in Quality and Pasteurization of Ginseng Powder (코로나방전 처리 인삼분말의 살균효과 및 품질변화)

  • As a newly emerging pasteurization method for improving the shelf-life of powdered ginseng, the corona discharge generated at high voltage conditions was examined for its effects on microbial pasteurization, physicochemical characterization, and sensory evaluation. The pasteurizing effects of corona discharge on total bacteria, yeast, molds, and coliforms increased with increasing voltage. However, corona discharge treatment of 5 kv/cm did not show significant effects of pasteurization on the yeast, molds, and coliforms. Treatment with 20 kv/cm reduced about 95% of the total bacteria $(6.14{\pm}0.04{\rightarrow}\;4.59{\pm}0.04$) and coliforms ($2.43{\pm}0.05{\rightarrow}\;1.00{\pm}0.05$) and 99% of the yeast and molds ($4.65{\pm}0.06{\rightarrow}\;2.73{\pm}0.06$). The proximate analysis, minerals, free sugars, crude saponin, and colors of the control ginseng and the ginseng treated with 20 kv/cm were not significantly different at p<0.05. Corona discharge of up to 20 kv/cm did not affect the proximate analysis, minerals, free sugars, crude saponin, and colors of the powdered ginseng. Sensory evaluation scores on color, flavor, taste and overall acceptability between the control ginseng and ginseng treated with 20 kv/cm corona discharge were not significantly different at p<0.05 level. Consequently, corona discharge treatment is thought to be a good alternative pasteurization method for improving the shelf-life of powdered ginseng due to its effective pasteurization, maintenance of nutrients and good sensory characteristics.

  • 스프린트는 치주처지료에서 부가적 처치법으로 널리 사용되고 있으며, 한편, 디지털 공제 활영술은 기존방사선촬영술의 한계점을 극복하기 위해 기발된 새로운 방법이다. 이번 연구에서는 치근활택술 단독시행시와 스피린트 병행 처치시의 효과를 임상적, 방사선학적으로 비교하였다. 중정도의 성인성 치주염을 가진 20명의 환자를 대상으로 하되 10명은 치근활택술 단독으로, 나머지 10명은 스프린트 병행처치로 처치하였다. 임상적, 방사선학적인 평가는 처치전, 처치후 6개월에 행하고, 임상적 평가의 경우 3개월에 추가로 실시하였다. 이번 연구에서 사용된 임상 지수로는 치태지수, 치은지수, 치은퇴축, 치주낭깊이, 임상부착수준, 임상부착증가, 탐침시출혈, 치아동요도 등이며, 방사선학적 평가는 기존 방사선촬영술에 의한 방법과 디지털 공제촬영수렝 의한 방법으로 행하였다. 디지털 공제 촬영술에 의한 평가시, 영상은 Digora 프로그램에 의해 획득하고 Emago 프로그램으로 처리 하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 처치후 3개월에 치태지수, 치은지수, 치은퇴축, 치주낭깊이, 임상적부착수준, 탐침시 출혈 등의 임상지수들이 변했으며, 특히 이러한 변화는 치주낭깊이, 치은퇴축, 탐침시출혈에서 유의성이 있었다. ( p<0.05 ) 그러나 두군간 차이는 인정되지 않았다. ( p>0.05 ) 2. 처치후 6개월에도 치태지수, 치은지수, 치은퇴축, 치주낭깊이, 임상적부착수준, 탐침시출혈, 치아동요도 등의 임상지수들이 변했으며, 특히 이러한 변화는 치주낭깊이, 치은퇴축, 탐침시출혈, 치태지수, 치아동요도에서 유의성이 있었다. ( p<0.05 ) 그러나 두 군간 차이는 인정되지 않았다. ( p>0.05 ) 3. 켄달 상관분석시, 임상적 평가와 기존 방사선 촬영술에 의한 평가사이의 관련성을 낮았으며 거의 0에 가까운 수치를 보였으며 (r=0.110, p=0.639 ) 임상적 평가와 디지털 공제 방사선 촬영술에 의한 평가사이에서 약간 높은 관련성을 보였다. ( r=0.257, p=0.315 ) 즉 치주치료후의 골변화는 디지털 공제 방사선 촬영술에 의한 평가시 기존 방사선 사진보다 임상적 부착증가와 더욱 긴밀한 관련성을 보여준다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때, 스프린팅 처치는 치주 치료에 있어 치근활택술에 부가적 표과를 제공하지 못한다.

Radiation Grafting of Hydrophilic Monomers onto Polyester

  • Radiation grafting of acrylic acid and 4-vinylpyridine at room temperature has been studied by an impregnation method to improve the hygroscopic properties, the antistatic behavior and the dyeability of polyester fabric. Polyester fabric was impregnated with acrylic acid or aqueous emulsion of acrylic acid-4-vinylpyridine by immersion at 25$^{\circ}$or 7$0^{\circ}C$. The impregnated fabric was irradiated under nitrogen gas with ${\gamma}$-rays from Co-60. When acrylic acid grafted polyester fabric was treated with sodium carbonate, calcium acetate and potassium persulfate, tne rate of water absorption was increased and most parts of polyacrylic acid formed were extracted off from the fabric with 0.1% solution of sodium hydroxide at 10$0^{\circ}C$. In the case of the impregnation of a mixture of acrylic acid and 4-vinylpyridine the petcent of grafting has been shown to be proportional to the ratio of 4-VP/AA and radiation dost. Estimating by contact angle measurements of water on the various polymer surfaces, the antistatic behavior was decreased with the increase of grafting percent. The investigation of electron micrograph disclosed the existence of certain type of discontinuities in the acrylic acid grafted polyester fiber which was treated with various salts.

Detection of Irradiated Starches from Korea and China by Viscometric Method (국산 및 중국산 전분의 감마선 조사 여부 검지를 위한 점도 측정)

  • A study was carried out to establish the detection method for irradiated cereals. Starchs were ground and irradiated at 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, 10 and 15 kGy using a Co-60 irradiator. The viscosities decreased in all samples by increasing irradiation dose. The viscosity of the potato, corn and sweet potato from Korea dropped from 35.00$\pm$ 0.34, 11.86$\pm$0.86 and 14.02$\pm$0.62 in the control to 11.38$\pm$0.92, 2.98$\pm$0.80 and 2.74$\pm$0.80, respectively, in the samples irradiated at 15 kGy. These trends were similar to samples from China. Regression expression and coefficients of viscosity of potato, corn and sweet potato starch from Korea were 0.97 (y=-4.6197x+38.284), 0.88 (y=-1.5146x+12.023) and 0.88 (y=-1.5146x+12.023), respectively, those of viscosity of starches from China were 0.69 (y=-28.849x+152.25), 0.81 (y=-3.38x+20.56) and 0.88 (y=-2.668x+18.505) at 50 rpm. All samples resulted in a decrease in specific parameter by increasing rpm after irradiation. Parameter values showed dose-dependent relationship between unirradiated and irradiated samples and indicated that all values of unirradiated samples were higher than the those of irradiated ones. These results suggest that the detection of irradiated potato, corn and sweet potato starch at various irradiation doses is possible by the viscometric method.
