음식물 찌꺼기의 고온.호기적 속성 발효를 위한 토양 균주 분리

  • 본 연구에서는 음식물 찌꺼기를 원료로 생균 발효사료를 생산하기 위해 단시간 호기적 발효에 필요한 고온성 균주를 개발하고자 하였다. 폐기물 처리장이나 경작연수가 10년 이상 경과된 농경지 야산의 토양 등 유기물질이 많은 장소에서 채취한 토양은 종균원으로 이용하였다. 1차 Screening을 통해 재배지(B group), 폐기물 처리장(F group), 야산(W group)에서 채취한 토양과 시판 발효용 종균제로부터 고온성 세균들을 분리한 뒤 고온.호기적 속성 발 효에 적합한 균주를 가려내기 위해 발효실험을 통한 2차 screening을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 재배지 토양으로부터 Bl, B2, B3, B4, B6, 폐기물 처리장으로부터 Fl, F2, 야산으로부터 W1, W3, W4 등의 세균이 선발되었다. 이들 중 특히 B6는 발효개시 4시간만에 생균수가 1.3$\times$$10^{9}$m1에 이르러 높은 중식속도를 나타냈고, 8시간만에 최고치인 7.5$\times$$10^{9}$ml까지 증가하여 호기적 고온성 속성 발효에 적합한 균주로 사료되었다.

  • In this work, it was investigated that various aspects of process, application situation, merits and short-coming results of the thermophilic methane fermentation with highly concentrated organic waste substances such as sewage sludges, food wastes and excretions. The merits of this methane fermentation were that it had a very fast reaction rate and was possible to proceed in high loads. It was also high in mortality for pathogenic microorganism and the digested sludge was more hygienic. However, the short-comings were that more energy was required for heating in the fermentation facility, no surplus energy could be gained from low concentration of organic waste, the fermentation treatment dropped level of water quality, thus burdens discharging process of water. Especially, the high concentration of methane fermentation could possibly lack nutritious salt and could face the disturbance by ${NH_4}^+-N$, a proper alternative was required. In general, thermophilic methane fermentation was considered as a better mean in disposing of cow excretion and food waste which were highly concentrated organic wastes. On the other hand, under the condition where the concentration of waste material was low and the high concentrate waste material became higher than 3,000 mg/L in ${NH_4}^+-N$, thermophilic methane fermentation resulted less desirable outcome.

  • 이 글에서는 폐기물의 분류 및 정의, 수거.운반 기술, 전처리 기술에서부터 중간처리기술로서 소각 및 기타 퇴비화, 메탄발효, 열분해, 고체연료, 사료화, 알콜발효, 식용작물재배 기술 그리고 최종처분기술로서 매립기술 및 해양티기 등 폐기물 처리기술의 전반을 포괄적으로 살펴보았다. 폐기물은 마치 인간의 삶을 대변이나 하듯이 복잡다다한 성분을 포함하고 있어서 중간처리 및 최종처분기술의 개발에만 노력을 기울일 수는 없으며, 정확한 분류와 수거 및 운반 체계의 최 적화, 그리고 수거된 폐기물의 선별을 포함하는 전처리 조작등이 폐기물 구성성분의 특성에 맞는 처리기술과 함께 유기적으로 연계되도록 해야 하며, 이를 위한 총체적 폐기물관리시스템의 토 착화는 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않는다. 아울러 폐기물 처리의 공학적인 측면이외에도 국민의 절대적인 협조와 정책적인 뒷받침이 선행될 때만이 이 땅에서 폐기물처리로 인한 문제가 사라질 수 있을 것이며, 환경기술을 또다른 국제무역장벽의 하나로 구체화하려는 그린라운드(G.R.; green round)에 적극적으로 대웅하여 폐기물처리기술을 포함한 여타 환경기술을 세계화하고 수출하는 계기도 마련되어지리라 판단된다.

  • Organic wastes are not disposing object but renewable resources. One of those ways of rendering to resources, composting is environmentally friendly way as to aspect of recycling of resources. Regardless of ways, composting goes through the main processes which are fermentation process and curing process. In the study, mobile composting device was developed with the experiments which were performed to solve the problems of fermentation and curing process. Since reaction vessel is rotated, it does not cease in the middle of agitation because of foreign. In addition, it mixed as well. With maintaining uniform temperature of reaction vessel by controlling amount of air, fermentation and curing are easy to use. Its economic feasibility is better than the existing fermentation equipments. Furthermore, it benefits to reduce the personnel and materiel maintenance cost, and mass produce composting product which use organic waste. Especially, although it needs less space, it has effect to provide transferable composting device with available area to increase by contacting organic waste to air.

  • 유기성 폐기물을 이용하여 생물학적 수소생산 통합화 시스템 연구를 수행하였다. 통합화 시스템은 유기성폐기물의 전처리, 2단계 혐기발효 및 광합성 배양으로 구성된 생물학적 수소생산 공정, 초임계수 가스화 공정, 생산된 가스의 저장, 분리 및 연료전지를 이용한 전력 생산으로 구성되었다. 실험에 사용된 유기성 폐자원은 식품공장 폐수, 과일폐기물, 하수슬러지이며, 전처리는 폐기물에 따라 열처리 및 물리적 처리를 하였으며, 전처리된 시료는 생물학적 수소생산 공정에 직접 적용되었다. Clostridium butyricum 및 메탄 생성조에서 발생하는 하수슬러지중의 미생물 복합체는 수소생산 혐기 발효공정에 사용되었으며, 광합성 수소생산 미생물인 홍색 비유황 세균은 광합성 배양에 사용되었다. 생물학적 공정에서 발생하는 미생물 슬러지는 초임계수 가스화 공정으로 수소를 발생하였으며, 슬러지 중의 COD를 저하시켰다. 생물학적 공정 및 초임계수 가스화 공정에서 발생하는 수소는 가스탱크에 가입상태로 저장한 후, 95%순도로 분리하였으며, 정제된 수소는 연료전지에 연결하여 전력 생산을 하였다.

Composting of Food Waste by Non-Stirrer Sealed Fermenter and Change of NaCl content in Soil during the Pepper Cultivation (무교반 밀폐형 발효조를 이용한 음식물류폐기물 퇴비화 및 작물재배 중 염분의 함량 변화)

  • This study was carried out to investigate on the change of NaCl content during the food waste composting and on the safety of food waste compost(FWC) manufactured by the non-stirrer sealed fermenter. Plant culture test with pepper crop was also performed to see the effect of FWC, which was produced by the G co. ltd., on the growth of peper and migration of NaCl in soil. The culture test was performed at the farmland in Chungnam National University. The results were as follows; the NaCl content was gradually accumulated during food waste composting process, probably through water evaporation. Sodium concentration was, however, remarkably decreased at the final stage due to the desalting effect by water which was concentrated on the ceil of the fermentor. The analysis of chemical properties and humidity parameters on the food waste compost revealed that the product is quite a good qualified one. More than 0.5 tons of FWC application on red pepper cultivation caused diminished effect on the yield and the accumulation of salts on soil.

반혐기성 가수분해/산 발효조에서의 음식폐기물 발효 균주 탐색

  • Pilot scale(2.5 ton) three-stage methane fermentation process was developed for the rapid production of methane from food wastes in our laboratory. Eleven strains responsible for the primary semianaerobic hydrolysis/acidogenic fermentation system were isolated and characterized. Among them, the number of gram positive bacteria was eight and that of gram negative bacteria was three. They were rod and showed positive reaction to catalase. The strain K5 was found to have the highest enzyme activities of amylase and protease.

Processing and Fermentation of Food Wastes with MS Microorganism Complex for Swine Feeds (MS 미생물복합군에 의한 음식폐기물의 양돈사료화를 위한 적정처리공정)

  • In order to investigate the proper processing of food wastes with miraculous soil-microorganisms (MS) for final use of swine feeds, calory, amino acid and fatty acid in food wastes were determined in relation with fermentation process with MS microorganism complex. Aflatoxin test was also performed to check safety of the fermented food wastes. Calory of food wastes was determined in average $7.60\;Kcal{\cdot}g^{-1}\;D.W.$ In finally processed food wastes, total content of amino acid was $93.0\;mg{\cdot}g^{-1}]\;D.W$, showing 18.5% of increase by the anaerobic fermentation. Essential and non-essential amino acids were measured at respectively 34.43 and $58.56\;mg{\cdot}g^{-1}\;D.W.$ Leucine, phenylalanine, isoleucine and threonine of essential amino acids and proline and glutamic acid of non-essential amino acids were highly composed as compared to others. The composition of fatty acid in food wastes was also increased by anaerobic fermentation for 3 weeks. Palmitic acid, oleic acid and palmitoleic acid were more important in quantity. Present results indicate that food wastes properly processed with MS have enough calory and are safe from aflatoxin, and that anaerobic fermentation with MS microorganism in an efficient process for hydrolyzing protein and lipids in food wastes.

  • 유기성 폐기물은 음식물쓰레기, 농ㆍ수ㆍ축산폐기물, 식품가공산업 폐기물 등에서 주로 발생되고 있다. 이러한 유기성 폐기물은 함수율이 70∼85% W.B.정도로 높고 부패성이 크기 때문에 악취 및 침출수 등의 여러 가지 환경유발 가능성이 높은 것으로 평가되고 있다. 최근에는 이러한 젖은 폐기물의 매립장 반입이 규제되고 있으며, 함수율이 높아 직접 소각도 어려운 실정이므로 유기성 폐기물의 안정화, 감량화 및 재자원화를 위한 처리기술개발이 시급한 실정이다.(중략)

  • In order to use food wastes for the source of fermented feed for pigs, this study was aimed to produce better culture inoculum by the aeration and addition of pig' s blood meal as sub nutrient. For the preparation of inoculum as bacterial strain, Lactobacillus brevis isolated from pig intestine, and a yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae from strawberries were used. Molasses and whey were used as main ingredients for the culture solution as well as yeast extract and other ingredients as sub nutrients. As the experimental result, aeration showed a positive effect to enhance viable cell count or retarding death phase. Although sub nutrient yeast extracts were replaced with pig's blood meal, fermentation characteristics were almost similar to that of yeast extract. When the inoculum was stored at room temperature, L. brevis and S. cerevisiae maintained the viable cell concentration of approximately 8 log cfu/mL for 1 week. 2 Days after the culture solution was mixed with food waste, the number of unwanted bacteria had rapidly increased, but E.coli was not detected for 5 days.
