Structural and Thermal Characteristics of Synthesized SiC by Carbothermal Reaction and Sol-gel Method (Carbothermal 반응법과 졸-겔법에 의해 합성된 SiC의 구조적 특성과 열역학적 특성)

  • SiC is synthesized by sol-gel and carbothermal reaction method from various carbon sources and Si source and characterized through the results of DSC and XRD. More SiC has been formed in carbothermal reaction than sol-gel method. From the XRD results, the degree of formation of SiC increases in the order of petroleum cokes, activated carbon, artificial graphite all in two introduced methods. Based on the DSC data, the enthalpy values for the exothermic reaction decrease in the order of activated carbon, petroleum cokes, artificial graphite in carbothermal reaction methods, while those for the endothermic reactions increase in the reverse order. But, the enthalpy values for the exothermic reactions decrease in the order of petroleum cokes, activated carbon, artificial graphite in sol-gel methods.

  • The fires were occasionally occurred by the quicklime, used in soil conditioners and stall disinfectant, in the stables and shed especially during the rainy season. Accordingly, we observed that spontaneous ignition by the exothermic reaction was happened through the revival experiments. As a results of revival experiments, we confirmed that fire had been occurred by exothermic energies in the case of heat accumulation.

  • In this study the physico-chemical characteristics of solid waste and the thermagravimetric analysis of waste investigated. It was found that the combustible component, water and ash were 61%, 32%, 7% respectively. The amount of combustible component was much higher than those of others. It was shown that the total carbon and hydrogen of the waste 94% and the high heating value was 2897,883(Kcal/kg). The thermagravimetric analysis showed that the weight loss of wastes occurred as temperature increased, and the rate was higher in the temperature range of $300^{\circ}C$ to $500^{\circ}C$.

  • The burning rate of solid propellant is one of the key parameter associated with the dynamic characteristics of combustion and the combustion performances. In the AP propellants, the evaporation on the reacting surface as well as the decomposition of the propellant is of great importance in determining the overall burning rate. In this study, a theoretical analysis was conducted to obtain the expression for burning rate in the steady state combustion with the energy and species equations in the condensed phase when the radiative heat flux partially contributes to the total heat transfer to the propellant surface.

$U_3O_8$ 분말의 염화물 전환에 관한 연구

  • 우라늄 염화물의 생성을 위한 U$_3$O$_{8}$ 분말의 염화반응에 대한 열역학적 해석을 수행하여 실험조건을 도출하였고 이를 실험적으로 확인하였다. U$_3$O$_{8}$ 분말의 탄소, 염소와의 염화반응은 비가역 발열반응으로서 아르곤 기체분위기에서는 옥시염화물의 생성이 억제된 우라늄 염화물들을 생성할 수 있었다. 염화반응 적정온도 범위는 863~1065k로서 이 온도범위에서의 반응종결시간은 U$_3$O$_{8}$ 분말 60g을 기준으로 약 4시간 이내였고, 반응온도가 높을수록 반응속도가 빠르게 나타났다. 우라늄 염화물의 비휘발 회수율은 생성된 우라늄 염화물 총량의 30% 이내로 낮게 나타났다.

  • In the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient(API) manufacturing company, since the product is produced by the chemical reaction, fire and explosion are frequently occurred in the process of inputting the raw powder as the chemical reaction stage. There are not many studies on safety measures through analysis of cause of accident in the actual chemical reaction stage. In this study, we investigated the heat flow in the boron removal reaction process to investigate the risk in the chemical reaction stage. The study reaction process was performed by using the reaction calorimeter for the products synthesized at the actual raw material in pharmaceutical factory. The risk was estimated by comparing the maximum temperature of the synthesis reaction, which can generate heat due to the failure of cooling in the actual manufacturing process, and the technical temperature. These results are applied to commercial manufacturing sites and safety measures to control the risk of runaway reaction due to reaction heat are suggested.

  • 오종(五種) 약침액(藥鍼液)(약침액(藥鍼液)의 명칭(名稱) : V. OK. I. HO. B)의 안전성(安全性)을 실험적(實驗的)으로 검토(檢討)하기 위하여 급성독성여부(急性毒性與否)를 연구보고(硏究報告)한 이후 발열성시험(發熱性試驗), 피부자극시험(皮膚刺戟試驗), 용혈반응(溶血反應) 및 간독성(肝毒性)과 신독성시험(腎毒性試驗)을 실시(實施)하여 유의(有意)한 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 모든 약침액(藥鍼液)은 발열성시험(發熱性試驗)과 피부자극시험(皮膚刺戟試驗), 간독성(肝毒性) 및 신독성시험상(腎毒性試驗上) 이상소견(異常所見)이 발견(發見)되지 않았으나 용혈반응(溶血反應)의 경우 일부(一部) 약침액(藥鍼液)에서 용혈반응(溶血反應)을 의심(疑心)할 수 있으므로 향후(向後) 이에 대(對)한 연구(硏究)와 세포독성(細胞毒性) 및 항원성시험(抗原性試驗)이 필요(必要) 할 것으로 사려(思慮)된다.

  • 면직물에 있어서 머서화는 고부가가치를 부여한다는 점에서 중요한 가공공정이다. 일반적으로 머서화공정은 수산화나트륨(NaOH)을 이용하여 농도 15~30%, 온도 0~4$0^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 행한다. 이와같은 머서화공정에 있어서 NaOH 용액의 농도와 온도를 변화시켜 면을 머서화한 경우의 상태도를 Figure 1에 나타내었다[1]. 셀룰로오스와 NaOH의 반응은 발열반응이므로, 온도가 높아지면 머서화가 충분히 진행되지 않는다.(중략)

  • The direct conversion of solid potassium chloride to solid potassium nitrate by the reaction of the chloride with gaseous nitrogen dioxide is suggested for the preparation of potassium nitrate. Thermodynamic calculations indicate that the free energy change is favorable at ordinary temperatures and that the reaction is exothermic. Experiments are described in which it was found that the reaction takes place at ordinary temperatures in the presence of a small amount of water with good yield. Nitrosyl chloride is produced simultaneously.
