Physical Weathering Characteristics of Mica-Schist in Sinbuk Area, Chuncheon, Korea (춘천시 신북지역에 분포하는 운모편암의 물리적 풍화특성)

  • This study shows the weathering characteristics of mica-schist affected by faulting and metamorphism through laboratory tests. Frozen-thaw test, which simulate the physical-chemical weathering processes in the laboratory, shows the important influence of foliation developed in mica-schist, resulting in $20{\sim}40%$ reduction of UCS according to weathering grade of rock. Slaking durability test was carried out for different weathering grade rock specimens and indicated that the specimens from fault area had a low durability index compared to other relatively fresh samples. XRD analysis allowed to estimate the dynamic evolution of mineral composition through wet-dry cycle in which the chlorite was the most important mineral leached out during slaking test. The creep test indicated that the main deformation produced along the foliation plane. The compacted clay minerals between discontinuity planes influence on the discontinuity shearing properties and result in a big difference between peak shear strength and residual strength. The results of laboratory tests on mica-schist show the possibility of a important deformation along the foliation plane or discontinuity.

  • The geology of the Tumbang Lapan area consists of Permian to Carboniferous metamorphic rocks, Cretaceous granitic rocks, and Permian to Tertiary sedimentary and volcanic rocks. Three faults are developed in surveyed area, and are functioned as channels of the hydrothermal solution which farmed quartz veins within tuff3. In the mineralized area, argillic and propylitic alterations are dominant. Argillic altered rocks show the alteration mineral assemblages of kaolinte+sericite+quartz+chlorite+pyrite. Mineral association in propylitic alteration is chlorite+epidote+feldspar+quartz+pyrite+ magnetite. Vein type, fracture filling, stockwork are observed in survey area. As a result of analysis of samples from quartz veins and altered rocks, some mineralized rocks showed $0.01\~4.6g/t$ of gold.

Vertically Development Processes of Jangho-ri Coastal Dune, West Coast of Korea (고창 장호리 해안사구의 수직 발달 과정 연구)

  • Samples from two boreholes of coastal dune field at Jangho-ri coast, Gochang was studied. These were analyzed by grain size analysis geochemical analysis, and the application of OSL dating method to understand the development during the Holocene. The boreholes SB8 and SB9 were classified into three different sedimentary layers by their mean grain size and geochemical characteristics. The results revealed that the upper sand layer is equivalent to the present coastal dune layer, which developed since 1,200 years ago; the silt layer in the middle to the dune slack or lagoon sedimentation layer, which developed between 1,200 and 6,000 years ago; and the sand layer at the bottom to the paleo coastal dune that developed between 6,000 and 7,000 years ago. It was proposed that the forming material of current coastal dune was supplied from the sandy flat in coastal area, while the middle silt layer was supplied from the weathered soil of a bed rock by the comparison with material of surrounding area. In the case of coastal dune, concentrated layer of sands were identified which were buried about 300 and 1,200 years ago, which is identified as the little ice age. This study confirmed the development of Jangho-ri coastal dunes after Holocene Climate Optimum period, and it is likely to assist in the understanding of coastal dunes development.

지구온난화의 경제적 영향

  • 본 논문은 산업혁명 이후의 경제활동에 의한 대기중 온실가스 농도 증가로 인해 나타나는 지표평균온도의 상승과 이에 따른 경제적 영향을 추정한다. 지표온도의 물리적 변화를 추정하기 위해 간단한 기후 모델을 이용하였다. 대기중 이산화탄소의 농도가 2배로 증가할 때 지표평균온도는 약 $1.7{\sim}5.0^{\circ}C$가량 상승하고 이 추정치는 대부분의 다른 연구결과들과 일치한다. 이 추정치에 근거해 이로 인한 경제적 피해를 비교적 자료가 풍부하고 이에 관한 연구가 많이 진행되어 온 미국의 경우를 중심으로 추산하였다. 그 결과 미국 같이 1차 산업의 비중이 낮은 나라의 경우에도 국민소득(National Income)의 0.9~2.0% 정도의 피해가 예상되며 좀더 심한 경우에는 3.48~4.35%에 이르는 비교적 커다란 경제적 손실이 예상된다. 산업의 발달이 뒤져 있고 1차 산업의 비중이 커서 기후변화의 영향을 비교적 크게 받으리라고 예상되는 개도국의 경우에는 그 피해가 국민소득에서 차지하는 비중이 훨씬 클 것이다.

  • Recently, the smart sensor technologies are rapidly developing in accordance with the technology of implementation in small-size, low-cost, and low power consumption. With these sensor technologies, especially with MEMS and NEMS, the researches on the WSN are actively performing. For the WSN, a network security function is essential even it requires high physical resource level. But the WSN with the smart sensor technologies could not be provided with enough resources for the function because of limited size, computing-power, low-power, and etc. In this paper, we introduce security and key-management protocols of WSN.

In recent years, Internet and other information technology enables more effective and efficient cooperation among research libraries. This paper reviews the methods and cases of cooperative acquisitions among research libraries, including CRL, OhioLINK, RLG Conspectus, TRLN Discussing the backgrounds and related issues. several strategies were suggested for the continuous implementation for cooperative acquisition.

  • 사초용 유채는 영양가가 높은 사료작물이며, 한랭한 조건에서도 생육이 계속되어 좁은 사료작물 포장을 효율적으로 이용할 수 있다는 관점에서 그 잠재력이 매우 크다 (Harper 및 Compton, 1980 : Jung등, 1984 : Kay, 1975 : 김등, 1986 : 이등, 1984) 그리고 식물육종 학의 발달과 더불어 사초용 유채도 많은 품종이 개발 육성되고 있다 (Toxopeus 및 Boonman, 1983). 또한 사초용 유채는 다른 유채속 식물이나 방목용 초종에 비하여 조단백질과 조회분함량 및 소화률이 높고 조섬유 함량이 낮으나, 품종과 생육환경 및 수확시기에 따라 이들 함량에 차이가 있다(Berendank, 1982, 1982, 1983, 1983 : Groppel등, 1982 ; Gupta 등, 1974 ; Harris, 1964 : Jung 등, 1984, 1986)고 보고하였다.(중략)

  • 최근 네트워크 및 정보통신 기술의 발달로 유비쿼터스(Ubiquitous) 환경이 구체화되면서 미래의 정보 기술 산업을 주도할 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(Ubiquitous Sensor Network : USN)가 주목받고 있다. 이러한 USN기반의 서비스는 각종 센서들로부터 인식된 데이터를 수집하고 이를 가공하여 사용자가 이해하기 쉽게 USN 자원에 대한 정보를 전달해야 한다. 그러나 USN자원에 대한 정보를 사용자가 이해하기 쉽도록 웹 상에서 시각적으로 표현하기 위한 연구는 보이지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 USN 데이터를 크게 센싱데이터와 메타데이터로 분류하고 이를 효과적으로 표현할 수 있는 시각적 요소들을 제안하였다. 그리고 사용자 질의에 대한 응답을 분석하여 각 응답 유형에 따라 시각적 요소를 효과적으로 조합하여 사용자가 쉽게 인지할 수 있는 웹 페이지를 설계 및 구현하였다.

A Study on the Design Direction for Green Products (그린 제품의 디자인 방향에 관한 연구)

  • In the environment of rapid economic growth and industrialization, the development of technology gave convenience and benefit to human life. Meanwhile, natural ecosystem broke down, and consumption of many natural resources and energy brought serious environmental pollution. Not a few countries have tried to protect their environments. Even in Korea, the efforts for the protection of environment has been is progress in the various fields. Also, in the field of product design, which is related to environment and conservation of resources, researches for green product has been promoted. To the people who recognized the environmental problems, the importance of green product has been attended. Green product has been known to a proper solution to the problem of pollution in biological and environmental aspects. Thus it is needed that green product should be developed and used by the people more than plain product. In this perspective, this study examines the current situation of the environmental protection movement in other countries on the pollution, and researhed the development of green products. And based on these researches, the proper design direction for design for green product will be proposed.

The Strategy for the Environmental Education through the Practical Arts(TechnologyㆍHome economics) Subject in a viewpoint of the Clothing & Textiles resources (의생활자원 관점에서의 실과(기술ㆍ가정) 환경교육방안에 관한 연구)

  • The Purpose of this study is to suggest strategies for environmental education through the Practical Arts(TechnologyㆍHome economics) Subject in a viewpoint of the clothing & textiles resources to resolve problems in the clothing life area. For this, this study was carried out through review of literature which is related with the consumption, the environmental problems, the environmental policies, and regulations of the government and new environmental technologies, of clothing & textiles industries and environmental education. The major findings of the study were as follows; 1) The environmental education system model in a viewpoint of the Clothing & Textiles resources was developed. This model system is consisted with interactions on school, government, industry, home and non-government organizations. Thus, the fact that Practical Arts(TechnologyㆍHome economics) Subject were the most effective subject to teaching the environmental education viewpoint of the Clothing & Textiles resources was confirmed. 2) The standards were analysed out to analyse the contents in the clothing area of the Practical Arts(TechnologyㆍHome economics) Subject. It were consist of 4 factors and 12 elements under the factors: Awareness of clothing & textile resources(clothing consumption, production of clothing & textile and environmental problems). Planning and buying of clothing(planning, buying), Management of clothing(understand of textile. human body & environment, laundering and Environmental pollution, arrangement & conservation) Recycling & exhaust of clothing(contribution, redesign, recycling, exhaust) 3) Analysing the current Practical Arts (TechnologyㆍHome economics) subject from the Environmental education in the clothing section, the environmental education related with clothing were taught the most in the middle school course, and environmental contents were concentrated in the recycling factors. but not so much on other factors. 4) After analysing the Practical Arts (TechnologyㆍHome economics) subject, the strategies were suggested for reinforcing the environmental education in the clothing of the Practical Arts(TechnologyㆍHome economics) subject.
