The purpose of this study was to explore the possibility of jobs for people with developmental disabilities in social farming and to derive job-creation plans. To this end, we analyzed the cases of social farms targeted for people with developmental disabilities among overseas social farming activities. And we visited and observed 5 social farms in Korea and interviewed the person in charge. The content of the study was to grasp the meaning and possibility of social farming as a job for people with developmental disabilities, and to explore ways to create a sustainable job for people with developmental disabilities in social farming. As a result of the study, social farming in Korea is in its infancy, and most of the activities are centered on agricultural experiences focused on healing and care for people with developmental disabilities. In the future, it was concluded that continuous agricultural education and activities are sufficient as suitable agricultural jobs for people with developmental disabilities. Based on these results, this study proposed a job model for people with developmental disabilities in social farming. The job model presented in this study is largely divided into a healing-oriented experience model, a care-oriented protective work model, and a social job model. In addition, a smart farm model and a plant factory model were added to the social job model.

This study explores the narrative presented by Clandinin and Connelly as a qualitative study through in-depth interviews with five field workers in art education with developmental disabilities in order to find out what kind of experiences the field workers with developmental disabilities have in the field and what the meaning of that experience is. was performed. According to the purpose of the study, personal narratives generated through individual educational experiences, cultural and social narratives to which they belong, and institutional narratives of educational institutions such as schools, welfare centers, and children's art education institutions were examined. This study is meaningful as basic data that contributes to the study of art education for the developmental disabled from childhood to adulthood, and it is suggested that the discussion be expanded through the direction of art education for the developmental disabled presented by field workers.

This study aims to identify factors of life satisfaction of the adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on the comparison between young and old. Data are collected through in-depth interview of the adults with developmental disabilities as well as via workers proxy responses at the group home. Regression model analysis is conducted based on 387 cases. The result shows that the young adults with developmental disabilities are more likely to satisfied with life when they evaluate job performance of workers at the group home and when they are more actively involved in community activities. For the old adults with developmental disabilities, life satisfaction is positively associated with their evaluation of job performance of workers at the group home as in the young adults. In addition, life satisfaction of the old adults is higher when they feel less fatigue. It is also higher for those with more choices on residence and higher level of social activities. The findings reveals that enhancement of life satisfaction for the old adults with developmental disabilities dwelling at group home require supports and services for health and social activities different from other ages. It shares the general ideas that service efforts should be made for needs and desires of the recipients. The present study suggests to expand our research interests to include the disabled in danger of early aging, such as the persons with Down Syndrome and the persons with intellectual disability and cerebral palsy, and look into their particular needs.

This study proposes a novel approach to enhancing the social inclusion and participation of individuals with developmental disabilities. Utilizing cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) technology, we designed and developed a metaverse simulator that enables individuals with developmental disabilities to safely and conveniently experience indoor handicapped handball sports. This simulator provides an environment where individuals with disabilities can experience and practice handball matches. For the modeling and animation of handball players, we employed advanced modeling and motion capture technologies to accurately replicate the movements required in handball matches. Additionally, we ported various training programs, including basic drills, penalty throws, and target games, onto XR (Extended Reality) devices. Through this research, we have explored the development of immersive assistive tools that enable individuals with developmental disabilities to more easily participate in activities that may be challenging in real-life scenarios. This is anticipated to broaden the scope of social participation for individuals with developmental disabilities and enhance their overall quality of life.

This paper aimed to reveal the needs and intentions of the people with developmental disabilities through AAC for supporting their independent living in the community and furthermore to contribute to realizing an inclusive community. From August 7 to September 11, 2020, trained researchers conducted 1to1 interviews(AAC) with 74 people recommended by specialized institutions. Data were analyzed by frequency-analysis, Chi-square-analysis and T-test using SPSS 25.0. As a result, the creation of community-level conditions(ex. housing and employment) and job aptitudes and preferences are important for the independent living and expectations and desires for social participation were high. It is different from the previous survey results through agents. It means the policy for the developmentally disabled should be based on their needs and aim for 'living in the community as a community member'. Based on these results, the implications of supporting decision-making for the ordinary lives of people with developmental disabilities were suggested.

The purpose of this research is to investigate usage related predictors to activate Adult Guardianship System of People with Developmental Disabilities. To achieve the purpose of this research, we have analyzed the survey of parents of People with Developmental Disabilities usage needs for Adult Guardianship System which is based on the Andersen's behavioral model. The study utilized data from 2011 Welfare Needs Assessment of Seoul middle and senior-aged Family with Developmental Disabilities, and the analysis method, the study applied used SPSS 22.0, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, logistic regression analysis. According to the result, the usage needs for Adult Guardianship System increases meaningfully if the parents does not have occupation, and the subject of Adult Guardianship System is male. In income and the social security system wise, the usage needs for Adult Guardianship System show remarkably large rating if the average income is high and the desire to be cared by others is high. But in case of People with Developmental Disabilities, communication skills, the degree of disability, burden of caring does not have effect on the usage needs for Adult Guardianship System. The conclusion for this research is, first, to activate vigorous usage of Adult Guardianship System, the government intervention is required. Second, the following study is needed to explain to the concept of the needs caring by others and the cultural factors relating to the usage needs for Adult Guardianship System.

Daytime activity services based on community care signify 'participatory integrated community care service' fused with diverse forms of community participation and care for adults with developmental disabilities after school graduation. They have the characteristics of lifelong care by life cycle in that adults with developmental disabilities 18 years and older receive daytime care and community participation programs. The purpose of this study is to examine community care based daytime activity services and to search for vitalization plans for daytime activity services that must unfold in the future for care programs that can be meaningful social participation opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Through literature review, we analyzed the state of daytime and social activity of adults with developmental disabilities as community care.Based on these findings, we devised ways to improve the daytime activities for the significant daytime of adults with developmental disabilities. At this, it proposed an increase of activity support vouchers, daytime activity service time expansions, expanded budget formulation for an increased number of daytime activity service subjects, expanded applications for the prioritization of the 20% of those with the most severe developmental disabilities and the composition of separate teams, and the role reinforcement of support centers for people with developmental disabilities.

This study was conducted to verify the effectiveness of the university's extracurricular program of convergence majors on lifelong education for the disabled on the performance of restaurant employment skills for high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The research method consisted of a case study procedure for three intellectual and developmental disability high school students, specifically using a single subject research technique. The study found that high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities effectively acquired and maintained restaurant employment skills through extracurricular program on convergence majors of lifelong education for the disabled. In conclusion, the university's extracurricular program on convergence major of lifelong education for the disabled was analyzed to be effective in adapting to adult life and self-reliance, including restaurant employment skills of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The rate of admission to facilities for people with developmental disabilities in Korea is very high for other types of disabilities. Therefore, 'community care', which supports life in the community for people with developmental disabilities, is very important compared to other types of disabilities. However, in Korea, families with disabilities are the problem of care and are appealing for the burden of support. This study analyzed practical cases through welfare institutional visits and interviews on support for community independence in Japan. As a result of the study, the transition of people with developmental disabilities to communities in Japan was centered on group home. The private sector is providing support for people with severe disabilities in group home to live in communities, and Sapporo City Hall is conducting private connections to solve the problem of caring for the developmentally disabled elderly parents. Accordingly, as Korean policy recommendations, it is proposed to expand group home, switch functions of living facilities for the disabled, cope with the problem of caring for the disabled by elderly parents, and provide preventive services through surveys on the actual condition of adults living alone. As practical suggestions, it is necessary to develop and distribute educational textbooks such as pictures to improve daily life skills for self-reliance, expand sufficient manpower and facilities in vocational training for self-reliance, and operate shelters for adults with developmental disabilities and their guardians.

This study was conducted to understand the current status associated with challenging behaviors of adults with developmental disabilities and review the perception of workers at lifelong education centers for the developmentally disabled. To that end, a survey and a focus group interview were conducted. The findings were as follows. First, 85.4% of people working at lifelong education centers for the developmentally disabled had experienced injury in the past year due to challenging behaviors, and those who experience injuries responded that they suffered burnout, psychological trauma, and considered changing jobs. Second, in terms of preemptive response by the organization to address challenging behaviors, 'securing individual space' and 'preemptive identification of causes of challenging behaviors' ranked the highest, with 87.5% of the respondents giving this answer, respectively. For follow-up measures, 81.3% of organizations answered that they hold meetings on individual cases and provide supervision. Third, in terms of suggestions for ways to address challenging behaviors, establishment of an organization-wide system and cooperation with related organizations were cited as needed.
