Effects of Visual Transformations on the Processing of Korean Letters (한글 낱자의 정보처리에 있어서 시각 변형의 효과)

  • Four experiments explored how the size ratio of two letter patterns affects jundgment times in a same-different matching task.Size, continuity of strokes,positions of the two vowel letters were systematically varied in order to test predictions,derved from the following hypotheses:Analogue transformation,position,use of diagnostic information,and decision sriteria.Size ratio influenced only reaction times for same responses and,more importantly,changes in the length of a horizintal line in a letter affected same responses more than the other feature.Taken together,the present experiments provide support for the diagnostic information hypothesis, while casting in doubt the other hypotheses on the nature of size transformations.

Types of Students' Responses to Anomalous Data (변칙 사례에 대한 학생들의 반응 유형)

  • In this study, the types and the characteristics of students' responses to anomalous data were investigated. The criteria for classifying students' responses were 'acceptance of validity of anomalous data', 'acceptance of inconsistency between anomalous data and initial theory', and 'change of belief in initial theory'. Seven types of responses were identified as follows: Rejection, reinterpretation, exclusion, uncertainty, peripheral theory change, partial belief change, and theory change. Absolute belief in the intial theory and doubts about methodological accuracy were found to be the major reasons for rejecting anomalous data. The students did not accept the inconsistency between anomalous data and initial theory because they ignored the experimental procedures and focused on the similarity of the experimental results.

Development of a Water Quality Model for Streams in an Upland Agricultural Watershed (농촌 유역 상단부의 소하천에서 수질예측모형의 개발)

  • A water quality model was developed for small stream at a upland agricultural watershed. A control volume method was employed to digest the severe variability of stream shape, water quality and discharge at small streams. We estimated optimum reaction coefficients and model structure using a random number generation technique. The index of agreement and coefficient of efficiency were introduced for the model calibration criterion. As the result, the reliability of model parameter estimation could be improved. The applicability of model was tested by a set of sampling results at Yongduckchun in Kimhae. The variability of water quality reaction coefficient was explored through the observed data and using the developed model. model.

Design of a Fuzzy Logic Controller Using Response Surface Methodology (반응표면분석법을 이용한 퍼지제어기 설계)

  • When fuzzy logic controllers which are designed based on plant models and intuitive base are applied to real plants, the control systems may not give satisfactory control results due to the modeling error and the lack of knowledge on the plants. In that case. the controller must be retuned by adjusting the control parameters; this retuning process may require a large number of trial-and-error evaluations and thus much time and cost. In order to resolve these problems, we propose a systematic and efficient procedure for designing a fuzzy logic controller using response surface methodology. First wc select the initial optimal conditions of control parameters using a genetic algorithm, in which a nominal plant model with intrinsic modeling errors is used. And then we determine the tinal optimal conditions of the control parameters using response surface methodology. Computer simulations are performed to verify the capability of the proposed method.

Inconsistent Activities of Titanium Oxide Photocatalysts (산화티타늄 광촉매 활성의 비일관성)

  • This study measured the photocatalytic activities of five $TiO_2$ samples commercially available in terms of the degradation rate of nine organic substrates. Efforts were made to correlate the activities with the properties of both catalysts and substrates but little correlation was found. The result clearly shows that the photocatalytic activities sensitively depend on the kind of the test substrates, which strongly supports the fact that the activity measured with one or two model compounds cannot represent the overall performance of a photocatalyst. Therefore, this multi-aspect and inconsistent activity of photocatalytic reaction should be fully understood prior to establish the standard protocol for the activity determination.

Optimization of Proteolytic Enzyme Treatment for the Production of Spirulina Extract (단백질 분해 효소를 이용한 스피루리나 추출물 제조 공정 최적화)

  • An efficient production method of spirulina extract was developed by enzymatic treatment using proteolytic enzymes. The suitable dosage of Tunicase, a cell lytic enzyme, was used to be 2.0% (w/w). To maximize solid recovery and spirulina extraction (SE) index, which indicates nucleic acid-related substances content, the dosage of Alcalase, commercially available pretense, was found to be 1.0% (w/w). By simultaneous treatments using optimal dosages of Tunicase and Alcalase, the highest SE index and solid recovery were obtained. The SE index and solid recovery of simultaneous treatments were notably enhanced by 100% ($11.4%\;{\rightarrow}\;22.8%$) and 56% ($45.2%\;{\rightarrow}\;70.7%$), respectively, than those of the non-treated extracts.

대기압 플라즈마 정밀 Etching 기술 개발

  • 본 연구에서는 DBD (Dielectric Barrier Discharge)방식의 상압 플라즈마를 이용하여 FPD (flat panel display) 공정에 사용되는 a-Si, Si3N4의 식각 공정 특성을 평가하였다. 사용된 DBD 반응기는 기존의 blank planar plate 형태의 Power가 인가되는 anode 부분과 Dielectric Barrier 사이 공간을 액상의 도전체로 채워 넣은 형태의 전극이 사용 하였으며, 인가 Power는 40kHz AC 최대인가 전압 15 kVp를 사용 하였다. 방전 가스는 N2, 반응가스로는 CDA (Clean Dry Air)와 NF3, 액상의 Etchant를 사용 하였으며 모든 공정은 In-line type으로 시편을 처리 하였다. NF3의 경우 30 mm/sec 이송속도 1회 처리 기준 a-Si 1300${\AA}$, Si3N4 1900${\AA}$의 식각 두께를 보였으며 a-Si : Si3N4 선택비는 N2, CDA의 조절을 통하여 최대 1:2에서 4:1 정도까지 변화가 가능하였다. 균일도는 G2 (370 mm${\times}$470 mm)의 경우 5.8 %의 균일도를 보이고 있다. 이외에도 NF3 공정의 경우 실제 TFT-LCD 공정 중 n+ channel (n+ a-Si:H)식각 공정에 적용하여 5.5 inch LCD panel feasibility를 확인 할 수 있었다. 액상 Etchant (HF수용액, NH4HF2)는 버블러를 사용하여 기화 시켜 플라즈마 소스를 통해 1차적으로 활성화 시키고 기존 DBD 반응기에 공급해 주는 형태로 평가를 진행하였다. 식각 특성은 30mm/sec 이송속도에서 a-Si $25{\AA}$ 정도로 가스 형태의 Etchant에 비해 매우 낮은 수준이나 Etching rate 향상을 위한 factor 파악 및 개선을 위한 연구를 진행 하였다.

  • 알루미나볼 위에 Titanium tetraisopropoxide(TTIP)를 원료로, 화학기상증착법으로 제조된 $TiO_{2}/Al_{2}O_{3}$ 볼을 이용하여 벤젠의 기상 광 분해 실험을 실시하였다. 기상분해 과정의 연속적 측정을 위하여 순환식의 반응장치를 자체 제작하였으며, PID(Photo Ionization Detector)방식의 VOCs meter를 이용하여 광조사에 의한 벤젠의 분해율을 실시간으로 측정하였다. 기상의 벤젠과 $TiO_2/Al_{2}O_{3}$ 볼의 원활한 흡착을 위해 30분간 암반응 시킨 후 광분해율을 측정한 결과 광조사에 의한 분말표면에 흡착된 VOCs의 탈착에 의한 초기 농도증가 현상이 공통적으로 측정되었으며, 흡착 면적이 작을수록 농도 증가 또한 낮게 측정되었다. 또한 최적조건을 기준으로 실시한 분해 실험 결과 60ppm이상의 고농도 영역에서는 VOCs의 분해가 비교적 느리게 진행되었지만, 60ppm이하의 저농도 영역에서는 급속한 VOCs의 분해가 측정되었다. 마찬가지로 반응 표면적이 넓을수록, 광원이 많을수록 그리고 광분해에 사용된 자외선 램프의 강도가 클수록 광반응에 의한 벤젠의 분해율이 증가하였다.

  • This paper deals with the optimum design criteria for the premium efficiency of 250 kW traction induction motor, using response surface methodology (RSM) and finite element method (FEM). The focus of this paper is found firstly a design solution through the comparison of torque according to rotor bar shape, rotor dimensions variations. And secondly a mixed resolution with central composite design (CCD) is introduced and analysis of variance (ANOVA) is conducted to determine the significance of the fitted regression model. The proposed procedure allows to be optimized the rotor copper bar shape, rotor slot, rotor dimensions starting from an existing motor or a preliminary design.

  • An efficient performance model for scramjet engines has been proposed for scramjet performance design. In supersonic air intake design, the compression angles of the wedge were determined to maximize the total pressure recovery of the intake based on Oswatisch criterion. Both combustion models of chemical equilibrium and finite-rate chemistry model are implemented, and compared each model with the results by Starkey for Waverider engine configuration. Finally, the performance model of concern has been confirmed by conducting performance analysis with hypothetical mission profile and design conditions.
