A Study on Phase Error of Orthogonal MC DS-CDMA Using Hybrid SC/MRC-2/4 (하이브리드 SC/MRC-2/4기법을 적용한 직교 MC DS-CDMA 시스템의 위상 에러에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the Hybrid SC/MRC-2/4 method in which bit synchronization and phase synchronization were not required was applied to the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA system in which each normalized subcarrier interval and processing gain had the same value, respectively, and the direct sequence spread code of each subcarrier was orthogonal. In the broadband wireless system in which multi-carrier transmission was used, a Doppler frequency shift occurred, which was caused by the difference between the highest subcarrier frequency md the lowest subcarrier frequency. In order to complement phase error caused by the shift, the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA system was analyzed so that the receiving signal could be perfectly synchronized by adjusting the PLL gain suitable for the entire system. As a result of simulations, as the PLL gain was increased, the change in the intervals was close to the case of perfect synchronization however, it became less when the PLL gain reached more than a certain value. Therefore, by selecting a proper PLL gain suitable for the system the orthogonal MC DS-CDMA can be designed in which the Hybrid SC/MRC method is applied.

  • Multicarrier code division multiple access(MC-CDMA) system that combines multicarrier modulation with CDMA offers robustness to frequency selective fading and can support higher rate data transmission with higher spectral efficiency. A new asynchronous MC-CDMA system to implement multiple data rate communications is proposed in this paper. In a W-CDMA downlink the orthogonal variable spreading factor(OVSF) code is used for variable spreading factor for various multimedia traffic. Proposed system utilizes the OVSF code that generated by generation property for spreading. The proposed MC-CDMA system use different lengths of OVSF code as a spreading code according to their data rate. The groupwise processing is accomplished by code grouping in OVSF code generation tree. For the analysis of average BER performance, numerical method and computer simulation were used. We also compare the system performance with that of a single rate MC-CDMA system used orthogonal code as a spreading code.

  • 시분할 다중화 방식을 이용한 정전 구동형 XY 스테이지의 새로운 위치 검출 방법을 제안한다. 각축의 고정자에 90도의 위상차를 가지는 여기(excitation) 신호를 주입하여 스테이지와 연결된 1개의 charge amplifier와 S/H를 이용하여 x축과 y축 방향의 위치를 검출한다. charge amplifier의 파라미터는 DC 이득이 크고 또한 신호간 간섭이 발생하지 않도록 설정한다. 제안된 방법은 XY 스테이지의 디지털 서보 제어기의 구성요소인 S/H를 사용하기 때문에 기존의 방식과는 달리 위치 신호의 검출이 안정적이고 반송 신호에 의한 고조파 왜곡과 복조 과정에서 발생되는 지연을 현저히 줄일 수 있으며 간단하게 구현할 수 있다.

  • In this parer, we analyze the preamble model in the OFDMA/TDD(OFDM-FDMA/Time Division Duplexing). Besides, under AWGN, ITU-R M.1225 Ped-B and Veh-A channel environments, we analyze capabilities of symbol timing & carrier frequency offset and performance of cell searching capabilities applied to OFDM/TDD system through computer simulation. The performance using Detection Probability, False Alarm Probability, Missing Probability, Mean Acquisition Time and MSE(Mean Square Error) is analyzed. Especially, in the case of symbol timing offset estimation, the preamble structure and its algorithm with enhanced performance are proposed and then compared with existing ones.

  • This paper presented the implementation and design of narrowband wireless MODEM for packet transmission. The MODEM consists of transmitter, receiver, and the control unit. The BPSK modulation with narrowband filtering is used. The receiver consists of functional modules such as carrier recovery, bit synchronization, lock detector, etc. We evaluated the performance of packet transmission with three MODEM sets implemented in distributed packet radio network. We confirmed the transmission of packetized data through RS232C port of PC. Also, we presented results of experimental data by using measuring instruments. The implemented MODEM in this paper is expected to be useful for the design of wireless LAN system.

  • UFMC is known as the one among novel multi-carrier modulation techniques which are designed for replacing OFDM for 5G wireless communication systems. It is the generalized model of OFDM and FBMC, which combines the advantages of OFDM and FBMC and avoids their weak points. UFMC is more robust in synchronization condition like Time-frequency misalignment compared to CP-OFDM. Moreover UFMC is more proper to burst uplink transmission like M2M 5G Communications. In this paper we analyze the BER performance in various channels and speeds. The simulation result shows that the BER performance is lowered when mobile devices are moving fast and the BER performance is so sensitive for the good channel environment.

Packet Detection and Frequency Offset Estimation/Correction Architecture Design and Analysis for OFDM-based WPAN Systems (OFDM-기반 WPAN 시스템을 위한 패킷 검출 및 반송파 주파수 옵셋 추정/보정 구조 설계 및 분석)

  • This paper presents packet detection, frequency offset estimation architecture and performance analysis for OFDM-based wireless personal area network (WPAN) systems. Packet detection structure is used to find the start point of a packet exactly in WPAN system as the correlation value passes the constant threshold value. The applied autocorrelation structure of the algorithm can be implemented simply compared to conventional packet detection algorithms. The proposed frequency offset estimation architecture is designed for phase rotation process structure, internal bit reduction to reduce hardware size and the frequency offset adjustment block to reduce look-up table size unlike the conventional structure. If the received signal can be compensated by estimated frequency offset through the correction block, it can reduce the impact on the frequency offset. Through the performance result, the proposed structure has lower hardware complexity and gate count compared to the conventional structure. Thus, the proposed structure for OFDM-based WPAN systems can be applied to the initial synchronization process and high-speed low-power WPAN chips.
