  • The bearing/sealing test (BST) facility is intended for tests of bearing and seal for turbopump of liquid rocket engine (LRE) in various media (water, liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen). The bearing test for serviceability is fulfilled with the estimation of the flow rate of cooling medium through the test bearing separator and with the simulation of axial and(or) radial loading. The purpose of seals test is the determination of magnitude of leakages through the seal and a time variation of this magnitude.

  • In the present paper, finite element analyses were carried out to evaluate the most important feature of a stent, that is. high radial strength and flexibility. Palmaz-Schatz 154 stent and two new models(stent A, stent B) were selected because they are the most representatives of tubular stents. Finite element analyses for the stent system were performed using ABAQUS/Explicit code. As a result, Palmaz-Schatz 154 stent shows sufficient radial strength but it needs some improvement in general properties such as high flexibility, low elastic recoil, low longitudinal contraction and low metal coverage area. Other two models show that sufficient flexibility, foreshortening and longitudinal recoil.

과냉각수에 분사된 증기제트의 응축특성에 관한 실험

  • 고온의 증기가 과냉각 상태의 물과 직접접촉에 의해 발생하는 응축현상(DCC Direct Contact Condensation)을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 두단계로 나누어 수행하였다. 1단계 연구에서는 간단한 원형관 형태의 수평 노즐을 통하여 증기제트가 대기압 상태의 과냉각수로 분출될 때 증기제트 및 주위의 거동을 측정·분석하였다. 수조의 온도와 증기유량의 변화에 따른 증기제트의 축방향과 반경방향 온도분포와 수조 벽면에서의 동압을 측정하였으며, 고속 비디오 카메라를 사용하여 각각의 경우에 대하여 증기제트의 분출이미지를 촬영하였다. 벽면에서의 동압은 노즐의 분출구직경과 응축수의 온도에 비례하여 증가하였다. 2단계 연구에서는 몇가지 형태의 증기분사기 축소 모형에 대한 응축성능을 비교하였다. 이때에는 수조의 온도상승으로 인해 수조가 가압되는 정도를 알아보기 위해 수조를 밀봉한 상태로 실험을 수행하였다. 실험시 수조의 압력은 시간의 경과에 따라 계속적으로 증가하였으나, 이는 방출된 증기의 불완전한 응축에 의한 것은 아니고 증기의 분출과 응축으로 인한 응축수의 부피팽창과 수조 온도의 상승으로 인한 증기압의 상승 때문인 것으로 판단된다.

  • A static performance tester for a torque rod assembly was developed to evaluate the three characteristics of the rod rubber bushing : radial spring characteristic, thrust spring characteristic, and rotational torque characteristic. Among the various schemes considered in the conceptual design stage, the final versatile type was determined to perform three different tests in one machine. The performance testing machine carried out radial spring test, thrust spring test, and torque test of the torque rod assembly. Static performance of the torque rod assembly was evaluated with the tester developed and fatigue strength of the assembly was also tested with the servo-hydraulic structural fatigue testing machine. The life of the component was found to be related with the rubber quality and adhesionability between the rubber and the steel rod. The optimum rubber hardness was experimentally found by changing the chemical compositions of rubber, and the adhesion was improved by optimizing the shape of the outer section of a the rubber, this study ensured the development of a reliable torque rod assembly.

  • The blades of supersonic turbines with low aspect ratio are usually designed to have the same cross sectional shape in radial direction. The profile diameter definition of turbines may lead to produce unintended flow passage area variations resulting performance degradation. In this paper, the effects of profile diameter definition on the supersonic impulse turbine performance have been investigated. Computational results of three different profile diameters are compared. It has been found that flow passage area variation can be achieved according to designer's intention when blade profile is defined at rotor tip diameter. Furthermore, the turbine blade profile defined at rotor tip showed better performance than the others.

  • Optical Fiber Bragg Grating sensor has a good performance to measure microscopic displacement which can measure strain of lining concrete and cylindrical structure like high intensity containment building and it can present many advantages like a corrosion resistance from the durability point of view. Then it can measure plane geometrical displacement of cylindrical structures with two-way displacement FBG sensor module. According to the test result, measurement of FBG sensor is better performance than other electric sensor system and 2D-level measurement. As a test result, Resolution of the two-way displacement sensor module with FBG sensors are more 10 times than other LVDT or 2D surveying.

  • We propose a novel design concept to improve extinction ratio by minimizing $Cv_e-Cv_o$ . Improvements of loss and fabrication error limit are also obtained by this hybrid design of the lateral shift and curved waveguide to control transfer coefficients, $Cv_e and Cv_o$ . The concept of lateral shift merges two transfer coefficients, and additional curved waveguide controls mode profile asymmetrically to help this minimizing effect of $Cv_e-Cv_o$ with no serious decrease in transfer efficiency. For a given InP based waveguide structure, the mode propagation analysis with an effective index approximation provided a calculational improvement of extinction ratio to -39 dB and fabrication error limit to $57.19\mu\textrm{m}$, with a structure design of $300\mu\textrm{m}$ waveguide curvature and $0.1\mu\textrm{m}$lateral shift. shift.

  • 조선업 및 화학공장 등 산업현장의 화재사고 중 용접$\cdot$용단작업시 불티에 의해 주위의 가연성물질을 착화시켜 화재, 폭발 사고를 일으키는 원인이 되고 있다. 이들 불꽃은 수평방향 및 틈새, 배관구멍 또는 마루나 댁의 작은 개구부 등을 통하여 비산되고 상당시간 훈소화재 형태를 유지하다 발화되어 화재의 원인이 되고 있다. 특히, 용단작업시 비산되는 불티는 $1,600^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온체로서 산소 압력에 따라 다르나 약 11 m(산소압력, 7 kg/$cm^2$)까지 비산되어 이 반경내에 있는 가연물에 착화될 수 있으므로 이에 대한 예방대책이 필요한 작업공정이다.   • A Propeller as the propulsion system of a target drone has been designed. The vortex theory has been applied for the propeller design method. A compressible effect has been removed and the Reynolds Number assumed to be constant. Design variables have been the chord length and the geometric angle of the blade. The aim of this optimum design has been an efficiency maximization. A performance of the designed propeller has been analyzed.

  • A digital testing method for measurement of radial error motions of a spindle is investigated with special emphasis on developing a computer-aided in-situ inspection for machine tool manufacturing. The method utilizes three non-contact type probes and an optical encoder, based on a special computational algorithm to eliminate undesirable offset and roundness errors of the master spindle. Details of the design of hardware and software required to realize the testing method are described. Finally, advantages and limitations of the method are discussed with several test results.
