In the application of the ecosystem-based fisheries assessment Jeonnam marine ranching ecosystem, two fisheries, funnel fishery and trap fishery, were selected as target fisheries. Black seabream, Acanthopagru schlegelii, rock bream, Sebastes inermis, gray mullet, Mugil cephalus, were selected as target species for the funnel fishery, and conger eel, Conger myriaster, was target species for the trap fishery. For assessing indicators of four management objectives, that is the maintenance of sustainability, biodiversity, habitat quality and socio-economic benefits, indicators were selected considering the availability of data, which were 5 indicators for sustainability, 3 indicators for biodiversity, 4 indicators for habitat, 2 indicators for socio-economic benefit. The Objective risk indices for sustainability and biodiversity of two fisheries were estimated at yellow zone, medium risk level. The objective risk indices for habitat and socio-economic benefit were estimated at green zone, safe level. The species risk indices (SRI) were estimated at yellow zone. The fishery risk indices (FRIs) were estimated at 1.143 and 1.400 for funnel net fishery and trap fishery, respectively. Finally the ecosystem risk index estimated at 1.184.

This study identified problems of the existing ecosystem-based fisheries assessment approach, and suggested new methods for scoring risk and for the estimation of fishery risk index. First, risk scores of zero to two for target and limit reference points for each indicator were replaced by those of zero to three, and the risk scores were calculated from new formulae which were developed in this study. Second, a new method for estimating fishery risk index (FRI) was developed in this study, considering the level of indicators. New method was applied to the Korean large purse seine fishery, large pair trawl fishery and drag net fishery. More precise and detailed risk scores were obtained from the new method, which can explain the risks by the wider range of both risk levels for 'better than target' and 'beyond limit'. The new method for estimating FRI could avoid the basic problem related with duplicated computations of fishery-level indicators, which improved the estimated FRI to be more accurate. Also, a method for estimating variance of FRI using the bootstrap was proposed in this study.

Fishing trend and characteristics of Korean tuna purse seine fishery in the Pacific Ocean were investigated using logbook data compiled from captain onboard and the statistical data from 1980 to 2013. The historical catch of this fishery had sharply increased since mid-1980s, and it has shown fluctuations with about 2-3 hundred thousands, whereas the catch per number of vessel has steadily increased with fluctuations since commencing this fishery. As for the proportion of catch by set type, unassociated type had increased from the mid-1980s to the end of 1990s, and then has decreased up to 2010s. Associated type had decreased continually to the end of 1990s, however, it started to increase since the beginning of 2000s. As for the catch proportion of set type by main species, those of skipjack tuna and bigeye tuna showed higher in the associated type, whereas that of yellowfin tuna has the highest proportion in the unassociated type. Fishing distribution of Korean tuna purse seine fishery was concentrated on the area of $5^{\circ}N{\sim}10^{\circ}S$ and $140^{\circ}E{\sim}180^{\circ}$ through the decades. The monthly catch distribution by longitudinal zone of Korean tuna purse seine fishery expanded the most further to the eastward in September to October.
The aim of this study was to verify the performance of Teleaulax amphioxeia as prey for Brachionus plicatilis and for the larvae of the bivalves (Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas and Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum) to select the best of five T. amphioxeia strains. The five strains of T. amphioxeia were collected from the coasts of Korea, purecultured and then fed to the rotifer and bivalve larvae. The density and fecundity rate of the rotifer fed on strain 01 were the highest. The instantaneous growth rate of the rotifer fed strain 08-2 was the highest. The maximum density and fecundity rate of the rotifer fed strain 08-2 were significantly higher than those fed Chlorella ellipsoidea, while instantaneous growth rate showed the opposite pattern. Survival rates of the Manila clam larvae fed each strain of Teleaulax showed no significant difference between strains. Survival rates of the Pacific oyster fed Teleaulax were significantly higher than those fed Chaetoceros sp., but lower than those fed I. galbana. This study indicates that strain 08-2 showed better growth for B. plicatilis and better survival for the bivalve larvae than did the other strains, and that T. amphioxeia can also be used as a prey organism for rotifers or bivalve larvae.
Cardiac disorder data are generally tested using the classifier and QRS-Complex and R-R interval which is used in this experiment are often extracted by ECG(Electrocardiogram) signals. The experimentation of ECG data with classifier is generally performed with SVM(Support Vector Machine) and MLP(Multilayer Perceptron) classifier, but this study experimented with Best-First Decision Tree(B-F Tree) derived from the Dicision Tree among Random Forest classifier algorithms to improve accuracy. To compare and analyze accuracy, experimentation of SVM, MLP, RBF(Radial Basic Function) Network and Decision Tree classifiers are performed and also compared the result of announced papers carried out under same interval and data. Comparing the accuracy of Random Forest classifier with above four ones, Random Forest is the best in accuracy. As though R-R interval was extracted using Band-pass filter in pre-processing of this experiment, in future, more filter study is needed to extract accurate interval.

Body size is one of the important factors that determine mating success in various animal taxa. Nevertheless, only few related studies have been conducted on Korean salamanders. In this study, we have investigated whether large male Gori salamander (Hynobius yangi), which is a Korean endemic species and is unknown for its mating behaviors, is dominant in the mating competition than small males. Thirteen sets of mating trials composed of one large male, one small male, and one female per each group were analyzed in the categories of courtship display towards females, male competition and egg fertilizing behavior. The results show that the mating behaviors between large and small males towards females or with each other did not significantly differ. These results may have been caused by a small size variation among males and the presence of plenty of oviposition locations in breeding sites. This is the first report on Gori salamander's mating behaviors.

This work describes an 8b 200 MHz 0.18 urn CMOS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) based on a pipelined architecture for flat panel display applications. The proposed ABC employs an improved bootstrapping technique to obtain wider input bandwidth than the sampling tate of 200 MHz. The bootstrapuing technique improves the accuracy of the input sample-and-hold amplifier (SHA) and the fast fourier transform (FFT) analysis of the SHA outputs shows the 7.2 effective number of bits with an input sinusoidal wave frequency of 500 MHz and the sampling clock of 200 MHz at a 1.7 V supply voltage. Merged-capacitor switching (MCS) technique increases the sampling rate of the ADC by reducing the number of capacitors required in conventional ADC's by 50 % and minimizes chip area simultaneously. The simulated ADC in a 0.18 um n-well single-poly quad-metal CMOS technology shows an 8b resolution and a 73 mW power dissipation at a 200 MHz sampling clock and a 1.7 V supply voltage.
Three pseudo-silver eels (PS1~PS3) were found by analysis of silvering index and biological characteristics of 454 eels, Anguilla japonica, collected from the 9 sites of Korean fresh and brackish waters from September 2014 to August 2015. Two specimens (PS1~PS2) from Lake Soyang and one (PS3) from Geum river estuary were identified as pseudo-silver eel showing a large difference between silvering index and GSI. The external morphology of the pseudo-silver eels were in S2 (late silver eel) stage, but they were classified into Y1 (yellow eel) and Y2 (late yellow eel) stage in GSI, Gut index, Eye index and Y2 stage in gonadal development and mean egg diameter.
This paper discusses important environmental issues that must be considered during shale gas development. Shale gas has been attracting many attention as the next key energy resource with its large abundance through easily accessible production fields, and its lower carbon dioxide & sulfur dioxide emission profile upon combustion when compared to the conventional oil and natural gas resources. Successful development of a shale gas field requires the use of hydraulic fracturing to recover hydrocarbon through the very tight shale formation, which has been frequently associated with environmental contamination issue of water, soil, and atmosphere. Therefore, environmental issues and their solution to minimize environmental impact should be considered for successful development of shale play in a future.
