Feasibility study of wind power generation considering the topographical characteristics of Korea (우리나라 지형특성을 고려한 풍력발전 타당성 연구)

  • This paper discussed the Feasibility study of wind power generation considering the topographical characteristics of Korea. In order to estimate the exact generation of wind power plants, we analyzed and compared wind resources in mountain areas and plain areas by introducing not only wind speed, the most important variable, but also wind distribution and wind standard deviation that can reflect the influence of landform sufficiently. According to the results of this study, generation was almost the same at wind power plants installed in southwestern coastal areas where wind speed was low as at those installed in mountain areas in Gangwondo where wind speed was high. This demonstrates that the shape parameter of wind distribution is low due to the characteristics of mountain areas, and the standard deviation of wind speed is large due to the effect of mountain winds, therefore, actual generation compared to southwestern coastal areas is almost similar in mountain areas even though wind speed is high.

Formation and Recent Changes of the Okjukdong Dunefield, Daecheong Island (대청도 옥죽동 사구의 형성과 최근의 변화)

  • The Okjukdong dune in Daecheong Island attracts national attention because of its unique landscape that is not covered by vegetation. However, there has been little knowledge on the timing of the dune formation, associated wind regime, and conservational strategies. In this study, we used OSL dating and grain size analyses to reveal the history of the dune development. In addition, we analyzed the wind regime in the dunefield which is surrounded by artificial coastal forest. The fine sand at Okjukdong underlain by a colluvial gravel layer indicates that the dune has been developed since at least 5 ka. Aeolian sands were found to be deposited around 700 years ago. The dunefield appears to have been severely eroded 30~60 years ago. The dune landscape has been destroyed after constructing a windbreak forest around the dunefield. The sand seems to be moving south and north with the season.

Development of Web-Based Wind Data Analysis System for HeMOSU-1 (웹기반 해모수-1 풍황자료 분석 시스템 개발)

  • A web-based program was developed for analyzing weather and structure data from the HeMOSU-1 offshore meteorological mast installed by the KEPCO Research Institute, and 35 km west-southwestward away from Gyeokpo located in Jeonbuk province. All of the measured data are obtained through the data transmitter and the server systems equipped on the HeMOSU-1 and the aerodynamic laboratory in Chonbuk National University respectively. The dualised server system consists of two servers, one is for logging the 1 second based raw data with 10 minute averaged values, and the other is for managing web page with processed weather data. Daily or weekly 10-min averaged data can be provided based on the input date by users. Processed weather data such as wind rose, Weibull distribution, diurnal distribution, turbulence intensity according to wind speed, wind energy density, and so forth are visualized through the web page which would be both useful and informative for developing the wind farm or designing a wind blade for the wind farm nearby southwest sea around the Korean Peninsula. Environmental Changes Due to Planting Pine Trees on the Coastal Dunes Along the East Coast of Korea - Case Study of Osan Beach in Yangyang-gun - (곰솔 조림으로 인한 동해안 사구의 환경변화 - 양양군 오산해변을 사례로 -)

  • Planting pine trees on the coastal dunes has been carried out along the East coast as well as West coast of South Korea. Although the artificial forestation has been regarded as a good policy that help to protect the coastal area from natural disasters, but its real effect to the landscapes is still unknown. In this study, we have installed a monitoring site with an automated weather station to study requirements for dune formation and its environmental changes in Osan beach, Yangyang-Gun, Gangwon Province. We analyzed the meteorological data collected from 2010 to 2019 and vegetational changes in the study area. As a result, the wind speed is decreased by around 30% and the pine-covered area is increased by around 300m2 after planting Japanese Black Pine in 2015. At present, it seems that the eolian transport of sand particle is minimal, because the dominant winds are the westerly winds which is not landward but seaward, and because the surface roughness length is about 0.5m which is similar to that in the deciduous forest.

Geomorphological Changes of the Okjukdong Dunefield Over the Last Decade (지난 10년간 대청도 옥죽동 사구의 지형 변화)

  • The geomorphological changes of an unvegetated part of the Okjukdong coastal dune were analyzed between 2008 and 2018. Its natural landscape has been destroyed after artificial forestation, but there is no quantitative evidence on these changes. In this study, we measured the unvegetated area using a total station and a network RTK-GPS in 2008, 2014, and 2018. Using Krging method for the three point data sets, we constructed digital elevation models (DEMs) and analyzed topographic changes between the three years. The results showed that the sand of the study area decreased in volume from 2008 to 2014, because sand supply from the nearby beach was blocked by coastal forests. The sand volume temporarily increased from 2014 to 2018, because of the dune nourishment conducted in 2017. It seems that the upper part of the sand dune has shrunk, but the sand at the bottom has increased over the last decade.

A Study on the Wind Ventilation Forest Planning Techniques for Improving the Urban Environment - A Case Study of Daejeon Metropolitan City - (도시환경 개선을 위한 바람길숲 조성 계획기법 개발 연구 - 대전광역시를 사례로 -)

  • The objective of the study was to develop an Urban Windway Forest Creation Planning Technique for the Improvement of the Urban Environment using the case of Daejeon Metropolitan City. Through a spatial analysis of fine dust and heat waves, a basin zone, in which the concentration was relatively serious, was derived, and an area with the potential of cold air flow was selected as the target area for the windway forest development by analyzing the climate and winds in the relevant zone. Extreme fine dust areas included the areas of the Daejeon Industrial Complex Regeneration Business District in Daedeok-gu and Daedeok Techno Valley in Yuseong-gu. Heat wave areas included the areas of Daedeok industrial Complex in Moksang-dong, the Daejeon Industrial Complex Regeneration Business District in Daehwa-dong, and the high-density residential area in Ojeong-dong. As a result of measuring the wind speeds in Daejeon with an Automatic Weather System, the average wind speeds during the day and night were 0.1 to 1.7 m/s,, respectively. So, a plan of for a windway forest that smoothly induces the movement of cold air formed in outer forests at night is required. The fine dust/heat wave intensive management zones of Daejeon Metropolitan City were Daejeoncheon, Yudeungcheon, Gapcheon-Yudeungcheon, and Gapcheon. The windway forest formation plan case involved the old city center of Daejeon Metropolitan City among the four zones, the Gapcheon-Yudeungcheon area, in which the windway formation effect was presumed to be high. The Gapcheon-Yudeungcheon area is a downtown area that benefits from the cold and fresh air generated on Mt. Gyejok and Mt. Wuseong, which are outer forests. Accordingly, the windway forest was planned to spread the cold air to the city center by connecting the cold air generated in the Seosa-myeon forest of Mt. Gyejok and the Namsa-myeon forest of Mt. Wuseong through Gapcheon, Yudeungcheon, and street forests. After selecting the target area for the wind ventilation forest, a climate map and wind formation function evaluation map were prepared for the area, the status of variation wind profiles (night), the status of fine dust generation, and the surface temperature distribution status were grasped in detail. The wind ventilation forest planning concept and detailed target sites by type were identified through this. In addition, a detailed action plan was established according to the direction of creation and setting of the direction of creation for each type of wind ventilation forest.

  • 풍력발전기의 구성요소 중 브레이드는 바람의 운동에너지를 회전력으로 변환하는 핵심요소이며, 효율적인 설계기법이 절실히 요구되는데 선진국에서는 설계기술을 회피하는 실정으로 브레이드 형상 설계기법의 확보는 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문은 날개요소 운동량이론(BEMT) 및 X-foil을 이용하여 10kW급 브레이드 국산화 개발에 목적을 두고 공기역학적 설계를 수행하여 국내 풍황에 적합한 최적의 풍력발전기 에어포일을 개발하는데 목적을 두고 그 방안을 제시한다.

  • 최근에는 풍속변화에 대응하여 최대전력을 발생할 수 있는 가변속 풍력발전 시스템에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이며 국내의 지형적 조건에 따른 바람의 영향으로 풍력발전 시스템의 MPPT제어가 반드시 필요하다. 종래의 풍력발전 MPPT 제어는 풍속변화에 대한 응답속도 등에 대한 문제점이 나타난다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 파라미터 변동에 대해 강인성 제어가 가능한 FLC(Fuzzy Logic Control)을 기반으로 한 풍력발전시스템의 MPPT 제어를 제안하고, 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 타당성을 입증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 PMSG(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator)의 가변속-고정피치(Variable-Speed Fixed-Pitch) 풍력발전시스템을 위한 FLC를 기반으로 하는 최대 전력점제어(MPPT) 알고리즘을 제시한다. 최근에는 풍속변화에 대응하여 최대전력을 발생할 수 있는 가변속 풍력발전 시스템에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 국내의 지형적 조건에 따른 바람의 영향으로 풍력발전 시스템의 MPPT제어가 반드시 필요하다. 종래의 풍력발전 MPPT 제어는 응답속도 등에 대한 문제점이 나타난다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 파라미터 변동에 강인한 FLC를 기반으로 하는 최대 전력점 제어(MPPT)를 제시한다. 또한 본 논문에서 제시한 알고리즘은 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 타당성을 입증한다.
