Measurements of In-situ Thermal Conductivity of Closed Type Ground Heat Exchanger in Korea (국내의 주요 지역에서 밀폐형 열교환기의 열전도도 측정)

  • This study was performed to acquire the reliable in-situ thermal conductivity of closed type ground heat exchanger used in ground source heat pump. We selected four sites(Cheonan, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju) which are central area of South Korea. Test results show that the effective thermal conductivities are 2.33 W/m$^{\circ}C$, 2.50 W/m$^{\circ}C$, 2.75 W/m$^{\circ}C$ and 2.86 W/m$^{\circ}C$. From this data, we can see that thermal conductivity varies about the range of 23% with the sites. Also, thermal conductivity increases up to 20% by changing grouting material from low salica sand to high one.

  • 본 기술사례는 과학기술부가 주도하는 자연재해방재기술개발 국가중점연구사업 중 기상청 주관의 기상지진기술개발사업의 한반도 지각속도 구조연구 과제 중 서산지역과 포항지역을 연결하는 200km 측선에서 2차원 지각구조를 밝히기 위한 지각규모 굴절파탐사의 지진동 source 제공을 위해 발파로 실시하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 국내에서는 거의 실행해 본 경우가 없는 지발당 장약량이 500~1000kg의 발파를 실시하였다. 200개의 계측지점에 지진동이 전달될 수 있도록 충분한 폭속을 가진 폭약과 외부의 충격과 우수한 기폭력, 시차가 정확한 이중비전기뇌관을 특수 제작하여 사용하였다. 시추공내로 유출되는 물에 의한 사압을 방지하기 위하여 폭약은 철관용기를 제작하여 벌크 형태로 장약을 하여 발파를 하였다. 발파전 용기 밀폐 시험 및 용기제작 후 기폭실험, 수압작용으로 인한 폭약 및 뇌관에 미치는 영향 등을 실험을 통하여 사전 파악을 하였다. 또한 실제 발파 중 진동치를 측정한 결과 보안물건에 대한 진동치값은 미광무국식(USBM)을 이용하여 예측한 진동치보다 평균 180% 정도 높게 나타났다.

  • Hydraulic breaker attached excavator generally used for the destroying and disassembling of buildings, crashing road pavement, breaking rocks at quarry and etc. The developed breaker are determined their own destructive force and number of impact by the input hydraulic flow rate and pressure than the operating conditions, In this study, the characteristics of pressure variation in closed vessel is invested for testing the impact energy of hydraulic breaker. To test the impact energy, the test system is designed as a mechanism consisted with a hydraulic cylinder, main base, pressure sensor, LVDT, data acquisition system and etc.. The developed test system is applied to measure the impact energy for hydraulic breaker. The proposed testing method could be applied for conventional impact test and the control system evaluation for hydraulic breakers.

  • This study is a absorbing Radon gas to occur indoor or outdoor. As a absorbent Radon gas, making cementless abso rbent matrix that accomplish experiment. In other to accomplish this experiment, Confirming Radon gas release ratio and accurating absorption, reduction of a half-life that 3,8 days from Radon gas source, we need to decide Radon absorbent experiment method. So, we accomplish to find Radon measurement method considering properties and a half-life that 3,8 days from Radon gas source. As the experimental factors, After stabilizing of Radon gas source and so on, we accomplish the experiment that is there or not and seal of Radon source.

  • Landslides are known as gravitational mass movements that can carry the flow materials ranging in size from clay to boulders. The various types of landslides are differentiated by rate and depositional features. Indeed, flow characteristics are observed from very slow-moving landslides (e.g., mud slide and mud flow) to very fast-moving landslides (e.g., debris avalanches and debris flows). From a geomechanical point of view, shear-rate-dependent shear strength should be examined in landslides. This paper presents the design of advanced ring-shear apparatus to measure the undrained shear strength of debris flow materials in Korea. As updated from conventional ring-shear apparatus, this apparatus can evaluate the shear strength under different conditions of saturation, drainage and consolidation. We also briefly discussed on the ring shear apparatus for enforcing sealing and rotation control. For the materials with sands and gravels, an undrained ring-shear test was carried out simulating the undrained loading process that takes place in the pre-existing slip surface. We have observed typical evolution of shear strength that found in the literature. This paper presents the research background and expected results from the ring-shear apparatus. At high shear speed, a temporary liquefaction and grain-crushing occurred in the sliding zone may take an important role in the long-runout landslide motion. Strength in rheology can be also determined in post-failure dynamics using ring-shear apparatus and be utilized in debris flow mobility.

Risk Assessment of Iron dichloride in OECD High Production Volume Chemicals Program (염화제일철에 대한 인체 및 생태 위해성평가)

  • 염화제일철은 2004년 OECD SIDS 프로그램으로 한국에서 위해성평가가 수행된 대량생산 화학물질로 1998년 화학물질 유통량조사에 의하면 우리나라에서 연간 100,000톤이 생산되었다. 본 연구에서는 염화제일철의 인체 및 환경적 영향에 대한 독성잠재성을 평가하기 위하여 OECD테스트가이드라인에 따라 독성시험을 수행하였다. 인체영향을 확인하기 위한 급성경구독성시험과 급성경피독성시험에서 랫드의 반수치사량은 각각 300$\sim$2,000 mg/kg b.w.과 >2,000mg/kg b.w.이었다. 반복독성시험의 무유해용량 (NOAEL)은 수컷 랫드는 125mg/kg b.w./day, 암컷 랫드는 250mg/kg b.w./day였고, 생식 및 발생독성시험에서 무유해용량은 암수 랫드 모두 500mg/kg b.w./day로 관찰되었다. 약한 피부자극성을 보였으며, 안부식성 물질임이 관찰되었다. S. typhimurium과 E. coli 균주를 이용한 복귀돌연변이시험에서 최고 농도인 5,000$\mu$g/plate에서 유전독성을 보이지 않았으며, 마우스를 이용한 생체내 (in vivo)소핵시험에서도 최고 농도인 50mg/kg bw/day에서 소핵유발빈도의 증가를 보이지 않아 본 시험물질은 돌연변이 유발 물질이 아닌 것으로 평가되었다. 어류(Oryzis latipes), 물벼룩 (Daphnia magna), 조류 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata)를 이용한 수생생물에 대한 급성독성시험 결과, 96시간 Oryzias latires의 반수치사농도는 46.6 mg/L이었고, 48시간 Daphnia magna의 반수영향농도는 19.0 mg/L이었다. 또한 Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata의 72시간 반수영향농도는 성장률을 이용한 계산법으로 6.9mg/L이었으며, 면적계산법으로는 3.8mg/L의 성장저해가 관찰되었다. 어류와 조류의 경우는 부분적으로 pH의 변화에 따른 영향으로 평가할 수 있는데 어류시험에서 pH중성시험용액에서는 100mg/L이상의 독성값을 나타내었고, 조류에서는 농도 12mg/L이상에서 pH 7아래로 떨어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 염화제일철은 생산 및 사용공정에서 작업자에게 흡입 혹은 피부로 노출될 가능성이 있으나 밀폐공간에서 사용되므로 노출이 적은 것으로 평가되었다. 3종의 수생생물의 독성결과로부터 염화제일철은 수생환경에서 중간정도의 해가 있으며, 우리나라에서는 직접적인 염화제일철의 소비자 노출은 없으나 환경중 노출이 우려됨에 따라 제19차 OECD대량생산화학물질 초기위해성평가회의에서 환경 분야에 대해서는 추가연구 후보물질로 권고되었고, 인체 분야에서는 인체에 대한 유해성과 사용 패턴을 고려하여 추가연구 우선순위가 낮은 물질로 권고되었다.

Studies of Egg-Shell Calcium (II) -A Study on Absorption Rate of Egg-Shell Calcium in Rat- (난각칼슘에 관한 연구 (II) - 난각칼슘의 흡수율에 관한 연구 -)

  • This study was to investigate interaction between ionization rate and absorption rate of calcium(Ca) in each feeding Ca sources in rats. The results were as follows. 1. The ionized Ca ions 134 into rats were absorbed in about two hours while Ca from other sources like powdered egg-shell Ca or precipitable Ca carbonate caused more than five hours to be absorbed. This means that the ionization of Ca is essential for the fast absorption in rat. 2. Absorption rate were increased in the rank order to brown rice vinegar-Ca acetate > brewed vinegar-Ca acetate > precipitated Ca carbonate > egg-shell Ca powder by feeding sources in rat and absorption rate of brown rice vinegar Ca was appeared 4 times highly than egg-shell Ca powder. 3. Absorption rate of brewed vinegar Ca acetate were appeared excellent, 1.4 times highly in case of the brewed vinegar at no ventilation condition than ventilation condition. 4. Ca concentration in blood serum was significantly enhanced the increased ionization rate of Ca in the above experiment rat models regardless of dietary Ca levels.

Electrode Fabrication and Electrochemical Characterization of a Sealed Ni-MH Battery for Industrial Use (산업용 밀폐형 니켈수소전지의 전극 제조 및 전기화학적 특성)

  • Electrochemical studies were performed by a half-cell test for the nickel hydroxide (cathode) and hydrogen storage alloy(anode) electrodes for the sealed Ni-MH batteries applicable to industrial use. The electrodes were fabricated and checked a charge efficiency and an internal pressure of the battery during charge-discharge cycling. In order to reduce the internal pressure of the sealed Ni-MH battery, cyclic voltammetry (CV) were performed on the electrodes of nickel hydroxide(cathode) and hydrogen storage alloy(anode), respectively. The results of the test showed clearly the oxidation/reduction and oxygen evolution reaction in a nickel hydroxide electrode and the hydrogenation behavior of a hydrogen storage electrode. The sealed Ni-MH battery of 130Ah was fabricated by using nickel hydroxide of a high over-voltage for an oxygen gas evolution and hydrogen storage alloy of a good performance for activation The battery showed a good characteristics such as a high charge efficiency of 98% at 1 C charge current, a low level internal pressure of 4 atm on a continuous over-charging and a large preservation capacity of 95% at 400 cycle.

A Study on the Flammability and Combustion Risk of Biodiesel Mixture (바이오디젤 혼합물의 인화 및 연소 위험성에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the dangers of biodiesel and general diesel mixtures currently used as alternative fuels by equipment (tag method and penski Marten method) and to determine the difference between flash point and combustion point (closed, open) according to test methods. It is intended to be used as a reference material for identification and evaluation of firecausing substances by confirming the risk of mixtures by comparative analysis and measurement, and establishing a risk assessment method for chemical substances. Method: Flash point test method and result treatment were tested based on ASTM and KS M mode, which are tag sealing and pen schematense test methods used as flash point and combustion point test methods for crude oil and petroleum products. The manufacturer of the equipment used in this experiment was a test equipment that satisfies the test standards of KS M 2010 with equipment produced by TANAKA of Japan. The flash point and combustion point were measured, and the flash point according to the test method of biodiesel and general diesel mixture ( Closed, open), and the ignition point of a mixture of biodiesel and general diesel was compared and analyzed for ignition risk compared with conventional diesel. Results: Looking at the experimental results, first, as an analysis of the risk of flammability of the mixture, the flash point of a substance containing 70% biodiesel was found to be about 92℃ based on general diesel with a flash point of 64.5℃, and gasoline and biodiesel or When the biodiesel mixture was synthesized, it was confirmed that the flash point tends to decrease. In addition, the difference between the flash point and the combustion point was analyzed as about 20 ~ 30℃, and when a small amount of gasoline or methanol was mixed, the flash point was lowered, but it was confirmed that the combustion point was similar to that of the existing mixture. Conclusion: In this study, in order to secure the effectiveness of the details of the criteria for judging dangerous materials in the existing Dangerous Materials Safety Management Act, and to secure the reliability and reproducibility of the judgment of dangerous materials, we confirm the criteria for judging the risk of the mixture through an experimental study on flammable mixtures. It will be able to provide reference data for experimental criteria for flammable liquids that are regulated in the field. In addition, if this study accumulates know-how on experiment by test method, it is expected that it can be used as a basis for research on risk assessment and research on dangerous goods.
