멀티미디어 서버는 시간 제약성을 가지는 멀티미디어 데이터를 정해진 시간 이내에 디스크로부터 검색해야 하므로 디스크 검색 요청 이전에 디스크 서비스 시간을 예측하여 제한된 시간 이내에 종료된다는 것을 보장해야 한다. 리눅스는 자원의 이용률 및 시스템 성능을 향상시키기 위해서 선행 읽기와 페이지 캐쉬 등의 기법들을 사용하고 있는데 이러한 기법들의 사용으로 디스크 서비스 시간은 매우 가변적이게 된다. 본 논문에서는 리눅스 파일 시스템을 개선하여 디스크 서비스 시간의 가변성이 최소화되도록 하고 이를 기반으로 정밀한 회전 지연 시간 모델에 의한 디스크 서비스 시간의 예측 기법을 제안한다.

This study introduced the concept of 'Media-content repertoire', which indicates the set of favorite media-content combinations of media users and extracted five media user types based on those combinations. We used the range of media(i.e., smartphone, tablet, PC, and TV) and entertainment content(i.e., movie, broadcasting, music, and game) for the analysis. Also, we investigated the differences between those types including demographic variables, individual characteristics, and content buying behavior and we found that statistically significant differences exist among them. Those include 'non-user'(i.e., lower level of media use), 'screen user'(i.e., 50s, TV-centered media use), 'variety seeker'(i.e., 20s. heavy public transport user), 'selective focus'(i.e., 20,30s, movie&broadcasting-centered media use), and 'heavy user'(i.e., high level of media use and consumption). The results provide both academic implications(e.g., extension of media repertoire concept) and practical implications(e.g., direction to the target marketing for each user type).

일반적으로 공간질의 처리는 복잡한 대용량 공간데이타를 대상으로 수행하기 때문에 많은 비용과 시간이 필요하다. 특히, 클라이언트/서버 공간 데이터베이스 환경에서는 클라이언트가 자주 이용하는 질의를 반복하여 처리하는 경우에 서버의 부하가 증가되며 질의 응답시간도 길어지게 된다. 따라서 클라이언트/서버 공간 데이타베이스에서 클라이언트측의 공간질의를 효율적으로 처리하기 위해서는 데이터 캐싱 등의 기법이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 클라이언트에서 자주 이용되는 공간질의를 뷰로 정의하고 클라이언트에서 실체화하는 방법을 이용하여 데이터 캐싱을 처리한다. 그리고 클라이언트에 실체화된 뷰를 최대한으로 이용하기 위하여 질의 수정 기법을 적용한 공간질의 처리 방법을 제시한다.

인터넷 이용의 확대로 가정마다 컴퓨터 보급이 크게 증가하면서 인터넷을 이용한 교육이 증가하고 있다. 학교에 가지 않아도 컴퓨터를 이용하여 듣고 싶은 수업을 원하는 시간에 지구촌에 있는 학생들과 함께 수업을 듣고 토의할 수 있다. 컴퓨터의 보급 증가와 인터넷 사용증가로 인하여 인터넷 교육이 하나 둘 나오기 시작했다. 그리고, 미래 프로젝트의 하나인 실시간 원격 교육이 가능하게 되었다. 실시간 원격 강의 시스템을 이용하면, 시간과 비용을 줄일 수 있고 누구든지 장소에 구애받지 않고 교육을 받을 수 있다. 앞으로 정보 통신망의 발달과 음성 및 화상 압축기술이 발달하면 실시간 동영상 등으로 학생들은 더 종은 교육을 쉽게 접할 수 있게 될 것이다.

In this paper, we propose a multimedia recommender system using user's playback time. Proposed system collects multimedia content which is requested by user and its user‘s playback time, as web log data. The system predicts playback time.based preference level and related contents from collected transaction database by fuzzy association rule mining. Proposed method has a merit which sorts recommendation list according to preference without user’s custom preference data, and prevents a false preference. As an experimental result, we confirm that proposed system discovers useful rules and applies them to recommender system from a transaction which doesn‘t include custom preferences.

스마트 미디어 시대에 이용자들의 미디어 이용행태 조사 결과, 미디어의 이용시간이 증가하고 이용하는 매체수도 증가하고 있는데, 기존 매체와 달리 스마트 미디어간에는 보완적인 활용이 증가할 것으로 분석된다. 스마트 미디어는 플랫폼을 중심으로 판매자와 구매자가 거래를 하는 전형적인 양측시장에 속한다. 양측시장의 사업자들은 구매자와 판매자를 모두 자사의 플랫폼으로 끌어들이기 위해, 구매자와 판매자의 수요 탄력성을 고려하여 손해를 감수하고 투자를 하는 부분과 실질적으로 수익을 창출하는 전략을 취하지만 아직 스마트미디어에서는 이러한 비즈니스 모델이 본격적으로 출현하지 않은 것으로 보인다. 특히 제조사들의 경우는 TV 판매만으로도 충분한 수익원이 될 수 있어 콘텐츠의 공급자와 구매자 네트워크를 키우기 위한 비즈니스 모델을 선택하는 데에 소극적일 유인이 높다. 유료방송사업자와 인터넷 포털의 스마트STB 도입은 이러한 제조사에 대한 견제 주체가 될 수 있으나 이러한 견제가 유효하기 위해서는 플랫폼간의 표준화 및 호환성이 보장되어야 할 것이다.

Understanding individuals who consume content on OTT platforms is crucial for media operators and marketers due to the dominance of OTT services in the global media market. This study compared socio-demographic and personality characteristics of OTT non-users and users, and tested these characteristics impact on usage time of OTT services. Cross-sectional data from 9,686 respondents aged 13 and above that extracted from the 2022 Korean Media Panel Survey were analyzed, revealing significant differences between the groups in gender, age, education level, income level, employment status, openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Moreover, gender, age, education level, income level, employment status, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness influenced usage time of OTT service. The findings expected to be valuable data that media operators and marketing practitioners can refer to when formulating strategies that consider the characteristics of users.

실감방송이란 다차원 실감미디어를 이용하여 사용자에게 몰입감을 줄 수 있는 미래형 방송서비스를 일컫는다. 여기서 다차원 실감미디어란 공간과 시간의 제약을 극복하는 다양한 형태의 요소정보로 인간의 오감을 통해서 보고 듣고 느낄 수 있는 정보를 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 다차원 실감미디어를 이용하여 현재 실감방송연구센터(RBRC) 에서 개발하고 있는 실감방송 시스템에 사용되는 다양한 요소기술들을 살펴보고자 한다.

This paper is study of buffering system for multimedia server. We propose the scheme that increasing the performance of multimedia sever by using the buffer sharing scheme and slot addressing algorithm to maximize fixed buffer utilization. Also, we calculate reference time about a used block and next stream reuse that stram. As a result, we propose the buffering system satisfy the users request using the extra bandwidth that reducing multimedia server I/O.

인터넷 사용자의 증가와 함께 e-mail 사용자 또한 증가하게 되면서 대량의 메일을 송수신하는 경우, 메일에 대한 효율적 관리의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 수신된 메일의 내용을 텍스트 형태로 가져온 뒤, parallel regular expression을 이용하여 Keyword를 검색하고 추출하여 메일에 첨부되어온 멀티미디어 파일들을 자동으로 분류·저장하는 멀티미디어 첨부파일 자동분류 시스템을 제안하였다. 수신된 메일을 일일이 확인하고 분류해야만 했던 기존의 시스템과는 달리 본 논문에서 제안하고자 하는 시스템을 이용했을 경우 노력과 시간을 절감하고 첨부파일들을 효과적으로 관리할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
