A Study on the Impacts of Computer-Aided Design and Computer Technologies on Clothing and Textiles: Current Trends and Future Outlook (의류학에의 컴퓨터 디자인 및 컴퓨터 테크놀로지 응용실태와 미래의 방향에 대한연구)

  • 최근 컴퓨터 디자인을 비롯한 컴퓨터의 응용은 의류패션과 직물 산업분야에 있어서 디자인 및 생산공정이 자동화되는 등 의류 디자인 및 제작에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 본연구의 목적은 컴퓨어화 사화의 이행에 따른 1) CAD를 포함한 컴퓨터 시스템의 의류학에의 응용실태 2) 컴퓨터 응용에 대한 인식 및 미래의 방향 3) 의류학내의 전반적인 문제점과 해결방안 등에 대하여 연구하고자한다. 연구방법은 전국 의류학 관련교육과(43개 4년제 대학의 교수) 110명을 대상으로 설문지법을 사용하였으며 회수된 58부 (53% 회수율)를 SAS로 통계처리하여 Likert's mehod of summated ratings로 분석하였다. 연구결과에 따르면 CAD는 11%의 대학에서 컴퓨터개론이 25%의 대학에서 Telecom-munication Spreadsheet Database 는 각각 4%의 대학에서 강의되고 있다. CAD 는 주로 다른과목에 포함되어 "몇주"(4%) "몇일(4%)" 정도 강의되고 있으며 컴퓨터개론은 다른과목에 포함되어"반학기"정도 강의 되는경우(14%) 가 가장많은 것으로나타났다. 또한 37%의 대학에서 앞으로 5년내에 의류학에 컴퓨터디자인 및 컴퓨터 시스템을 도입할 계획으로 있으며 특히 CAD에 대한 관심이 높았다. 64%의 대학이 의류학과 건물내에 컴퓨터 시설이 갖추어져 있지 않아 모든교수들이 컴퓨터교육을 위한 시설 재점비가 필요하다고 하였다. 컴퓨터활용의 부족이 의류학 관련학과의 취약부분으로 인식욈에 따라 앞으로 CAD에 관한 연구 및 컴퓨터 관련 수업의 개설, 시설 확충등이 보완되어야 할 것으로 나타났다. 본연구 결과는 한국내 의류관련학과의 CAD를 포함한 컴퓨터의 응용실태와 성향을 실증적으로 조사분석함으로써 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 제시하고 미국과의 비교분석을 통하여 의류학과 응용이 우리 실정에 맞게 정착되는데 도움이 될것으로 기대된다.

A Study on Digital Literacy Education for Adults in US Public Libraries (미국 공공도서관의 성인을 위한 디지털 리터러시 교육에 관한 연구)

  • In the digital society where ICT technology is highly developed, digital literacy is an essential competence for working and living. Developed countries around the world have been working hard to solve the digital divide and improve digital literacy. In this paper, we investigated and analyzed the case of US public libraries for improvement of digital literacy of adults including the older people. To do this, we analyzed the educational program type of digital literacy, education method, and the contents of the program, focusing on the best practices libraries of the program. Many of the educational programs still related to basic computer and Internet technologies, and training programs on Micro Office, e-mail, social media, and smartphone and tablet computing were also high. The most frequent and daily training method was informal point of use, and the content and level of education appeared to be very diverse. For digital literacy training, the librarians of the public library considered librarians' digital competence and retraining to be the most important, and the library facility and the latest equipment to be suitable for the operation of the digital literacy education program.

  • Nowadays, the knowledge of modern society through education has become more and more complicated. The education system and the educational philosophy have created various education systems and methods for each country due to the difference of history and culture. In Korea, there are various teaching methods in recent years. However, if the traditional teaching method in Korea is based on educating teachers with a good understanding of the contents taught, some foreign countries such as USA and Germany can express their thoughts of the total population. In this situation, this study researches cases of other countries that have different educational systems from ours. It compares the differences of social background, educational program, and educational space in Germany, Singapore and the United States. As a result of this study, the following contents can be derived. The educational program is based on the social background of each country and plans an educational space suitable for the education program. In Germany, the emphasis is on the students' experience and community consciousness rather than on the amount of knowledge, so a home base space is planned between the classrooms to solve the problem of lack of solidarity and belonging among the students who are lacking in the curriculum. Some practical courses are run in the community. In Singapore, educational programs are elite-oriented compared to the other country, and because of the typical tropical climate, educational facilities are characterized by a lot of common space in semi-exterior space. Many schools in the United States have IMC in the central part of their schools that adopt self-directed learning and discussion.

  • To improve the educational system of Korea Maritime Police Agency(KMPA), the authors investigate and evaluate the present course and curricula in details comparing with the systems of US Coast Guard and Japanese Coast Guard As a result, it is suggested that KMPA try to recruit good-quality officers through the diverse route, develop the future-oriented educational, system, adjust the course and curricula to meet KMPA's role and mission for 21st century. Besides, it requires that KMPA establishes its own institute to carry out the recruit training and re-freshening courses for both the officers and enlisted person.

  • It has been seriously difficult to create demand of modular construction because Korean modular method has been considered as container house or lightweight steel house. Actually, barrier factor of modular construction for activation was difficult to produce modular continuously in factories based on stable amount of demands. So, this research found successive factors of modular construction and proposed the method of demand creation through a plethora of case analysis by building types. In addition, this research found the scale of modular potential market. Owners will be able to use this strategy that is proposed in this research when they make a decision about construction system. Also, the modular construction can make potential market in Korea. As a result, modular system producer can make their business strategies and make continuous demand by conjugating the method of creating demand for modular construction which is proposed in this research.

Current Issues on the Oil UST Management and Future Directions for the Prevention of the Subsurface Contamination (현행 주유소 지하유류저장시설 관리의 문제점과 토양${\cdot}$지하수 오염 방지를 위한 개선방안 연구)

  • The current status and problems of UST management in gas stations were reviewed, and suggestions were made for possible improvement of UST management. Regulations and programs relevant through the whole life cycle of the UST, such as construction, installation, operation, and disclosure are insufficient to prevent oil release. The UST requirements are less stringent compared to those of the U.S. and EU members. Current soil test does not seem to be practically effective in detecting soil contamination caused by oil release. The potential for subsurface contamination due to oil release from the UST is estimated from available data other than soil test results. Much higher following future directions and suggestions are made to improve current unsatisfactory UST management: Firstly, increasing the UST requirements - establishing more stringent standards for new UST facilities, and adding new regulatory requirements for existing UST facilities; secondly, replacing current soil test with the tank and piping tests; thirdly, reinforcing programs for supervising the tank construction and installation; fourthly, constructing a system in which independent gas stations can properly manage the USTs; and lastly, educating UST owners and operators, and constructing DB of UST facilities.

Trend Analysis and Revision of the University Library Standard in Korea (대학도서관기준의 동향분석과 개정안 연구)

  • The ultimate mission of the university library is to provide the various information services in support of the teaching, research, and public service missions of the university. The achievement of the mission requires the optimal development and timely revision of university library standard that can be used as an operating guidelines and assessment tools. On the basis of this justification, this study has compared the trend and feature of library standards in major countries(USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Taiwan), analysed the problems and limitations of legal and recommended standards in Korea, and suggested the revised plan of Korean university library standard focusing on collections, staffs, and facilities.

  • The purpose of this study is to diagnose the problems of an elementary school care classroom in terms of facilities and physical environment and to suggest an improvement plan for building safer and more pleasant facilities and environment in further proceeding the policies of a whole-day care classroom. To this end, we analyzed the main contents of the domestic policies for elementary school care classes and the related spatial standards amongst the management plans of provincial education offices nationwide. In addition, we analyzed the relevant care facility standards of advanced countries such as the U.S., Australia, and Singapore and diagnosed the physical environmental level of Korean care classes in comparison to the international standards. Afterwards, we conducted a case study of elementary school care classes in order to examine the key issues with the environment of care classes, the causes of these issues and the user recognition and demand. The key results of this research are as follows. First, it is necessary to elaborate and refine the guidelines on elementary school care classrooms. Second, in order to provide high-quality elementary care services, it is important to have a combined classroom that can be operated at the level equivalent to or similar to a dedicated care classroom. Third, it is necessary to regularly check the facilities and environment of the elementary school care classroom.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure, and contents of the US national school library standards presented in the document National School Library Standards for Learner, Librarian and School Libraries made by AASL, and to provide basic information to refer to the direction and contents of Korean school library standards. AASL's National School Library Standards provide Learner Standards, School Librarian Standards, School Library Standards and Standards Integrated Frameworks that incorporate three previous standards, and emphasize the growth of learners and school librarians' competency by focusing on the educational activities of learners and school librarians. With the physical environment of the school library being somewhat established, it is necessary to establish standards for the educational content and competency of learners and teachers. And it is necessary to pay more attention to the materials including the contents of education.

A Study on Examples of Eco-Friendly School Design - Focusing on School Facilities in USA, Japan and Korea - (학교건축의 친환경적 계획수법에 대한 사례연구 - 미국, 일본, 한국의 학교건축을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to identify differences and lessons in eco-school planning techniques and sustainable design methods by analyzing comparatively green building certification system and the cases of sustainable schools in US, Korea and Japan. As a result of the comparative analysis, green building certification system for school facilities, both domestic and international, is categorized into external environment, energy, materials and resources, and indoor environment. From the case study, it is common that roof garden and biotopes are installed for external environment, while energy saving, passive energy utilization methods for natural lighting and ventilation such as arrangement planning, courtyard, top-light, shading devices, solar panel and insulation by roof garden are most frequently used. Also, storm water uses, water saving equipment and sustainable materials are often introduced for resource savings. Concerns for indoor environment is frequently addressed by introducing natural light and ventilation in the buildings, which makes ultimately a comfortable space.
