  • This paper described the effect of dual clutch transmissions on the stability emissions characteristic in a GDI engine at vehicle Inspection and Maintenance(I/M) program. In order to investigate the influence of direct injection gasoline engine with DCT, the experimental apparatus consisted of GDI engine with 4 cylinder, dynamometer and exhaust emissions analyzer. Analyzed emission gas include CO, HC and NOx results that DCT vehicle in the case of NOx, HC in automatic transmission vehicles less than 1/2 level was confirmed to be exhausted. However vehicle specific power increases CO also has increased.

  • This paper described the effect of split injections on the stability of combustion and emission characteristics in a direct injection gasoline engine at various operating conditions. In order to investigate the influence of direct injection gasoline engine, the fuel injection timing was varied direct fuel injection at various fuel pressure. The experimental apparatus consisted of GDI engine with 4 cylinder, EC dynamometer, injection control system, and exhaust emissions analyzer. The emission and combustion characteristics were analyzed for the fuel injection timing and fuel injection pressure strategies. It is revealed that CO and HC emissions are dramatically decreased at advanced injection timing. Also, engine performance is increased at increase fuel injection pressure.

  • The post injection effect to enhance aftertreatment devices' performance is essential to meet future stringent emission standards by controlling exhaust gas temperature and emission pollutants. The test has been made with commercial common rail diesel engine by post injection manipulation, to optimize exhaust gas temperature while guarantee low fuel penalty.   • This study was performed to reveal the relationships between various gas supply conditions including inlet numbers and positions for Photobioreactor. To do that, this study was installed the experimental apparatus. All experiments were performed for the cases with 1, 2, 3, and 4 inlets and for gas flow rate of 4~8 lpm. Through the experiments, this study showed that the case with 3 or 4 inlets could reduce about 50% of the pressure loss head for all gas path than that of one inlet base case. So, these results can be used as basic data to design the gross or multiple photobioreactor.

  • Recently, study on the improvement of combustion performance for the diesel engine by using the impinging spray in the combustion chamber has been actively studied. The purpose of this study is to examine the variation of exhaust emission between the trial engine with impinging plate and the prototype engine in accordance with change of fuel injection timing and fuel injection pressure. The concentration of nitrogen oxide of trial engine decreased more than 50% compared to prototype engine. However, smoke of trial engine indicated very high concentration compared to prototype engine. The effect of fuel injection timing on the nitrogen oxide and smoke indicated different results, that is, the concentration of nitrogen oxide decreased as the degree of fuel injection start become slower, whereas the concentration of smoke decreased as the degree of fuel injection start become faster.

수소를 첨가한 디젤엔진의 연소 및 배기특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Combustion and Emission Characteristics of Diesel Engine with Hydrogen Application)

  • The International maritime organization(IMO), in an effort to slow down the global warming, proposes reduction in ship's speed as a way to lower the rate emissions from ships. In addition, since ship's fuel cost have been increased, the shipping volumes, fuel-saving technology are being required urgently. Therefore, in this present study, a method of reducing the fuel cost that can improve the performance of the diesel engine was tried by introducing a predetermined amount (0.1~0.3% of the mass amount of fuel used) of hydrogen fuel additive. The experimental conditions of the test engine were 1500rpm and torque BMEP-10b ar. The engine performances (power output, fuel consumption rate, p-max, exhaust temperature) were compared before and after addition of hydrogen fuel additives. This experimental study confirmed reducing at least 2% fuel consumption and 2.19% NOx emission.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze that intake port swirl and fuel injection system have an effect on the engine performance in a turbocharged D.I. diesel engine of the displacement 9.4L. As result of steady flow test, when the valve eccentricity ratio moved to cylinder wall, the flow coefficient and swirl intensity is increased. And as the swirl is increased, the mean flow coefficient is decreased, whereas the Gulf factor is increased. Through this engine test, it can be expected to meet performance and emissions by the following applied parameters; the swirl ratio is 2.43, injection timing is BTDC 13oCA and compression is 15.5.

  • 본 연구에서는 스퍼터링(sputtering)에 의해 Mg 함량을 달리하여 제작한 Al-Mg 합금막의 열처리 유 무별 부식 및 방식 거동을 확인하고자 내식성 평가 및 분석을 실시하였다. 내식성 평가는 염수분무시험을 통해 이루어졌으며, 염수분무시험 후 생성된 부식생성물은 SEM, EDS, XRD 평가 기법을 이용하여 초기 중기 후기 단계로 나누어서 분석을 실시하였다. 이상의 결과를 통해서 부식 진행 단계 별로 내식성에 미치는 부식생성물의 영향을 확인할 수 있었으며, Mg 함량에 따른 열처리 유 무 별 Al-Mg 합금막의 방식 메커니즘을 규명할 수 있었다.

  • Droplet size measurement technique was established for the sprayed viscous fluid by virtue of the installation of the sprayed-droplet size measurement system employing light scattering method. Atomization test results showed that the mean droplet size of the sprayed viscous fluid is decreased with the increase of the mass ratio of air to fuel and in case of the same air/fuel ratio, also with the increase of viscous fluid flow rate, and is increased with the distance from atomizer tip. Basic design data for the manufacture of external-mixing type, Y-Jet type, and internal-mixing type atomizers was acquired from the atomization tests.

방해물이 존재하는 평판 위 충돌 액적 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior of an Impacting Droplet on a Wall Having Obstacles)

  • In this paper an experimental study is presented to investigate the effect of a step edge and a stationary droplet on the dynamic behavior of impacting droplet on a wall. The main parameters are the distance from the edge and the center-to-center distance between two droplets. Photographic images are presented to show coalescence dynamics, shape evolution and contact line movement. The emphasis is on presenting the spreading length of droplet for the step edge and two coalescing droplets along their original centers. It is clarified that the droplet exhibits much different dynamic behavior depending on the location of the step edge. The momentum of impacting droplet was better transferred to the stationary droplet as the center- to-center distance between two droplets was reduced, which results in more spreading of coalescing droplet.
