Preparation of Edible film from Fish Protein (어육 단백질을 이용한 가식성 필름의 제조)

  • To prepare the edible film based on fish protein, the optimal conditions for extracting soluble protein from Alaska pollack ( Theragra chalcogramma) and mackerel (Scomber japonious) muscle were defined. The effects of protein concentration, pH and temperature of protein solution on the physical properties of films were also investigated, Contents of moisture, crude protein, crude lipid and ash in Alaska pollack muscle were 79.6, 18.2, 0.6 and $1.2\%$, respectively. Contents of moisture, crude protein, crude lipid and ash in mackerel muscle were 69,1, 20.1, 9,5 and $1.3\%$, respectively. Both soluble protein contents extracted from Alaska pollack and mackerel were the highest at pH 12.0, and then un 2.0, 11.0. But they were extracted a little at neutral range. forward the recovery yield of protein by controlling isoelectric point was the highest at pH 4.8 ($79.8\%$) for Alaska pollack and at pH 5.0 ($64.1\%$) for mackerel, For the preparation of protein films from both Alaska pollack and mackerel, the most effective conditions of film forming solution were achieved, after supplied fish protein 4 g (glycerol 1,6 g) in 100 mL of distilled water, by adjusted to pH 10.0 and then heated at $90^{\circ}C$.

Development of a Catalyst/Sorbent for Methane-Steam Reforming (메탄스팀개질반응용 촉매흡착제 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In order to improve the efficiency of methane steam reforming process, a part of the system which produces hydrogen from heavy hydrocarbon resources such as coal, we combined metal catalyst with CaO sorbent and fabricated catalyst/sorbent. To increase the porosity and the compressive strength of sorbent, carbon black and ${\alpha}-alumina$ were mixed with CaO powder during preparation. The effects of sorbent composition on the physical properties were investigated by SEM, TGA, BET, XRD, abrasion strength measuring device and adsorption-desorption instrument. Sorbent with 5 wt% $Al_2O_3$ and 10 wt% carbon black showed the best physical features with $7.61kg_f$ strength and 47% $CO_2$ adsorption capability. Various metal catalysts such as Ni, Co and Fe were supported on the sorbent developed and 10 wt% Ni/sorbent was selected for methane steam reforming process based on the result of reaction experiment. The reaction system using the catalyst/sorbent showed better $H_2$ productivity compared to the detached system with catalyst and sorbent, indicating the effectiveness of the system developed in this study.

Effect of Diamine Composition on Thermo-Mechanical Properties and Moisture Absorption of Polyimide Films (디아민 변화에 따른 폴리이미드 필름의 물리적 특성과 흡습률 분석)

  • Poly(amic acid)s were successfully synthesized from 1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzene (1,4-APB) or 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]hexafluoropropane (HFBAPP) with pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA), 3,3'-4,4'-benzopenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA) and $p$-phenylenediamine ($p$-PDA) and then they were effectively converted into polyimide films by thermal imidization. The chemical structure and thermo-mechanical properties of polyimide films were examined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermo-gravimetric analyzer (TGA), thermo-mechanical analyzer, dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) and universal tensile machine (UTM). The moisture absorption, thermal and mechanical properties of polyimide films decreased with increasing the amount of 1,4-APB and HFBAPP. The polyimide films using HFBAPP showed lower properties than that of 1,4-APB at the same ratio, but it displayed better thermal properties and lower moisture absorption at the similar coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) with a copper. On the basis of our finding, it is concluded that 4-component polyimide films could be utilized for base films for flexible copper clad laminates (FCCL) of flexible printed circuit boards.

Milling Property of Australian Wheats and Physicochemical Properties of the Flours (호주산(産) 밀의 제분(製粉) 특성(特性)과 밀가루의 물리화학적(物理化學的) 성질(性質)에 관(關)한 연구)

  • The milling property of ti different Australian Wheat varieties (Australian Prime Hard (APH), Australian Hard (AH), Western Australian Wheat (WAW), South Australian Wheat (SAW), Australian Standard White (ASW) and Australian Soft Wheat (SW) was investigated by using $B{\ddot{u}}hler$ test mill. The flour characteristics were evaluated by farinograph, mixograph, amylograph, sedimentation and pelshenke tests. The milling race of Australian wheats varied from 59% to 66%, and that of Suwon 219 (Korean variety) was 65.5%. The milling rate was significantly related to the seed weight but less extent to the bulk density of grain. The flours obtained from the wheat varieties exhibited distinctly different chemical compositions and dough properties. The protein content of the flour varied from 14.47% (APH) to 6.59 % (SW). The gluten forming ability of APH and AH was very high, but very low with ASW and Sw. On the other hand, ASw and WAW showed very high gelatinized viscosity, while SAW marked exceptionally low viscosity.

  • 액체추진제 로켓엔진 연소실에는 고유모드에 대응하는 음향파동이 내재되며 이러한 음향파동은 연소와의 상호작용을 통하여 불안정한 음향에너지를 공급받아 증폭되며 결국에는 연소불안정 상태에까지 이르게 된다. 이와 같은 불안정한 상태에 이르기 위해서는 연소로부터 되먹임되는 불안정 에너지의 양이 충분히 크고 구동 음향파동에 근접한 위상을 가져야 한다. 이와 같은 구동 메커니즘을 구성하는 상세한 물리적 현상들을 규명하고 예측하기 위한 많은 연구들이 보고되었으며, 이들 중 이론적인 시간 지연 모델을 사용하는 음향적인 방법은 매우 경제적인 반면 연소 현상에 대한 상세한 모사가 생략되어 연소 불안정의 구체적인 원인을 규명하는데 어려움이 있고, 파동 방정식에 의하여 연소실 내부의 파동 에너지 증가를 예측하는 방법은 연소기 내에서의 연소 메커니즘에 대한 고려 없이 연소에 의해 발생하는 에너지만을 포함하는 단점과 선형적인 연소 불안정에만 제한된다는 제한이 있다. 음향장과 커플된 기화반응 모델은 분무액적의 기화 과정이 추진제 연소의 지배과정이라는 가정 하에 연소응답을 기화반응으로 대체하는 방법으로, 역시 단시간 내에 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 장점이 있으나 기화반응으로부터 음향파동으로의 에너지 되먹임 과정이 배제되어 있어 정확한 결과를 구하기는 어렵다. 이에 대하여 최근에는 전산 모사적인 방법을 사용하는 대규모의 연소장 해석이 가능하여 짐으로써 음향파동에 의한 외란과 에너지 되먹임과정을 모두 포하마여 수치적인 방법을 사용하여 계산하는 액체추진제 로켓엔진의 고주파 연소불안정 해석방법들이 제시되고 있다.안정성 모드가 있음을 보였다. 밀도 변화가 있는 경우나 밀도 변화가 없는 경우 모두 sinuous 모드의 가장 불안정한 모드가 varicose 모드의 가장 불안정한 모드보다 더 불안정함을 보여주어 후류 유동은 자유 유동에 가까운 위상 속도를 가지는 sinuous 모드에 의해 지배될 것임을 예측할 수 있다. 연소반응이 완전연소에 가까울수록 그리고 압축성 효과가 클수록 유동내부의 온도가 증가하고 점성 또한 증가하여 후류유동은 안정됨을 알 수 있었다 유동변수들의 contour로부터 유동의 특성을 예측한 결과 baroclinic 항이 dilatational 항보다 상대적으로 크며, 중심선 상하에 생기는 vortex를 더욱 성장시킬 것으로 생각된다.냉각 홀의 막임, 연소 입자의 점착 부위 등을 예측하여 보완책을 준비할 수 있도록 하였다.$mm^2$sec였으며, 이는 다른 graphite/epixy 복합재의 확산계수와 유사한 값을 나타내고 있다. 또한 추진제가 충전된 연소관을 절단하여 밀폐한 후 95%RH 습도 조건에 보관함으로써 연소관 내부의 추진제 기계적 특성에 미치는 침투된 습기의 영향도 함께 고찰하였다. 추진제에 따라 차이는 있겠으나 추진제가 충전된 연소관은 순수 복합재 연소관에 비해 습기의 투과 정도가 작으며, 본 연소관에 충전된 RDX/AP계 추진제의 경우 추진제의 습기투과에 의한 추진제 물성 변화는 미미한 것으로 나타났다.의 향상으로, 음성개선에 효과적이라고 사료되었으며, 이 방법이 편측 성대마비 환자의 효과적인 음성개선의 치료방법의 하나로 응용될 수 있으리라 생각된다..

Assessment of Surface Boundary Conditions for Predicting Ground Temperature Distribution (지중온도 변화 예측을 위한 지표면 경계조건 검토)

  • Soil freezing is a phenomenon arising due to temperature difference between atmosphere and ground, and physical properties of soils vary upon the phase change of soil void from liquid to solid (ice). A heat-transfer mechanism for this case can be explained by the conduction in soil layers and the convection on ground surface. Accordingly, the evaluation of proper thermal properties of soils and the convective condition of ground surface is an important task for understanding freezing phenomenon. To describe convection on ground surface, simplified coefficient methods can be applied to deal with various conditions, such as atmospheric temperature, surface vegetation conditions, and soil constituents. In this study, two methods such as n-factor and convection coefficient for the convective ground surface boundary were applied within a commercial numerical program (TEMP/W) for modeling soil freezing phenomenon. Furthermore, the numerical results were compared to laboratory testing results. In the series of the comparison results, the convection coefficient is more appropriate than n-factor method to model the convective boundary condition.

Electrochemical Characteristics of PFO pitch Anode prepared by Chemical Activation for Lithium Ion Battery (리튬이온전지용 화학적 활성화로 제조된 석유계 피치 음극소재의 전기화학적 특성)

  • In this study, the electrochemical performance of surface modified carbon using the PFO (pyrolyzed fuel oil) was investigated by chemical activation with KOH and $K_2CO_3$. PFO was heat treated at $390{\sim}400^{\circ}C$ for 1~3h to prepared the pitch. Three carbon precursors (pitch) prepared by the thermal reaction were 3903 (at $390^{\circ}C$ for 3h), 4001(at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1h) and 4002 (at $400^{\circ}C$ for 2h). Also, the effect of chemical activation catalysts and mixing time on the development of porosity during carbonization was investigated. The prepared carbon was analyzed by BET and FE-SEM. It was shown that chemical activation with KOH could be successfully used to develop carbon with specific surface area ($3.12m^2/g$) and mean pore size (22 nm). The electrochemical characteristics of modified carbon as the anode were investigated by constant current charge/discharge, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance tests. The coin cell using pitch (4002) modified by KOH has better initial capacity (318 mAh/g) than that of other pitch coin cells. Also, this prepared carbon anode appeared a high initial efficiency of 80% and the retention rate capability of 2C/0.1 C was 92%. It is found that modified carbon anode showed improved cycling and rate capacity performance.

Comparison of Mechanical and Interfacial Properties on Chemical Structures of Acrylic and Epoxy Adhesives (아크릴 및 에폭시 접착제의 화학적 구조에 따른 유리섬유 복합재료의 기계적 및 계면 물성 변화 평가)

  • An adhesive can be used to connect two different materials in structures. In comparing with other connecting methods, such as bolt, rivet, and hot melting, the adhesive does not need to use them. It leads to reduce the weight and decrease the stress concentration along the connecting line. This work studied the comparison of mechanical and interfacial properties of commonly-used two adhesives, acrylic type and bisphenol-A epoxy type. Tensile and flexural strength of neat adhesives were also compared. Lap shear test of two adhesives was deduced from the measurement of tensile and fatigue tests. After testing, the failure patterns of adhesive surfaces were observed by a microscope. Tensile strength and mechanical fatigue resistance at using bisphenol-A epoxy adhesive were better than acrylic adhesive. Also adding CNT reinforcement in epoxy adhesive can anticipate mechanical improvement.

Preparation and Cleaning Properties of Environmental Friendly Semi-Solvent Cleaning Agents (친환경 준용매계 세정제의 제조와 그 세정 특성)

  • Semi-solvent type cleaning agents were prepared by mixing naphthenes, natural terpene oil, surfactant and water, and measured their physical properties. And also, cleaning efficiency for flux and grease was measured by gravimetric method. By measuring the physical properties, pH for cleaning agents were 6.0~6.7, surface tension, 27.4~28.4 dyne/cm, and wetting index, 8.65~12.46 (with water), 11.99~17.43 (without water). The cleaning agent composed of naphthene, 30 wt%, natural terpene oil, 45 wt%, surfactant, 13 wt%, co-surfactant, 12 wt%, and water, 0 wt% had the largest wetting index, and shown the most effective cleaning properties for flux (98.66%) and grease (93.44%). The conductivity with $0.5{\sim}0.9{\mu}s/cm$ to the cleaning agent containing small amount of water was found to form W/O type microemulsion.

The Rheological Properties and Applications of Modified Starch and Carrageenan Complex as Stabilizer (안정제로서 변성전분과 카라기난 혼합물의 물리적 특성 및 응용)

  • Rheological properties of the aqueous solution of various polysaccarides and their effects as a stabilizer in fruit(peach) syrup and yogurt were investigated. Four kinds of modified starch(Sun Kolguard, Sun Registar, Mira Cleer 340 and Maps 449), three types of carrageenan(kappa, iota and lambda types) and pectin were used in this study. The 5% aqueous solution of each modified starch was gelatinized at $66^{\circ}C$. After gelatinization, Sun Kolguard showed the highest viscosity among those samples. The synergistic effect of carrageenan on 5% aqueous solution of Sun Kolguard was studied by changing the mixing ratio, and the result showed that the ratio 90:10(Sun Kolguard:carageenan) had the maximum synergistic effect and the effect of iota type carrageenan was higher than that of other types. The effect of Sun Kolguard as a stabilizer in fruit syrup were superior to other modified starches studied. The gelatinization temperature of the addition of iota carrageenan in starch added fruit syrup changed from $66^{\circ}C$ of 5% aqueous solution to $82^{\circ}C$. Furthermore, the viscosity after cooling of syrup which made iota carrageenan and starch added fruit syrup was more increased than simple starch added fruit syrup. The mixture of 90% Sun Kolguard and 10% iota carrageenan were estimated as the most appropriate stabilizer for manufacturing the fruit syrup and yogurt adding fruit syrup.
