Since the Ming Castle located in Nanjing was designated by the Government of China as a cultural property in 1988, the Nanjing city government has been conserving the castle according to its plan and thus restoring the historical and cultural values of Nanjing. The project is still in progress, and in this regard, a series of logistics have formulated and a lot of discussions have taken place. Likewise, Korea has been carrying out multidirectional policies to conserve and utilize castles lying throughout the country, appreciating the historical and cultural resources of castles lying throughout the country, and at the same time gets down to designation as the World Heritage. This study focused on how Nanjing, not only a castle city but also a historical city, had established a principle and legal foundation regarding the protection of the Ming Castle, especially on how the problems, which might continually arise in a process where a scheme reached a working stage, had been solved. The problem-solving process is expected to have great implications for Korea in a similar situation. Hereat, this study analyzed the project plans formulated seasonally and gathered data on practical operation by conducting interviews with hands-on workers. The results showed that Nanjing had carried out policies to utilize the castles as tourism resources by harmonizing cityscape and ecological environment, but that it well conserved castles without damaging cultural assets. The stereoscopic protection system for the Ming Castle, based on the consideration of historical and cultural environments, may provide practical and useful data for Korea's administration mapping out for a castle conservation policy and designation as the UNESCO World Heritage.

Ecotourism, which is attracting attention as a method of sustainable tourism, is a tourism that aims to preserve the environment of the tourist area, to improve the participation and welfare of residents in the tourist area, and to improve the tourism experience and education. Ecotourism is a field that is developing at a faster rate than other areas of tourism. With the pace of growth, ecotourism faces new challenges for sustainability. This study focused on institutional sustainability in addition to economic, socio - cultural and environmental sustainability to assess the sustainability of ecotourism destinations. The results of this study confirm that institutional sustainability should be given priority for sustainability of ecotourism. Examples include the designation of protected areas, the establishment of ecotourism management entities, the regular investigation and research of academic purposes, the management of tourist visits and tourist information, the cooperation and participation of local residents, and the activities of commentators and managers. The attractiveness of ecological resources was also influenced by the access of tourists and the influence of local residents. Therefore, careful attention should be paid to the approach of tourists and the use of land by local residents in ecotourism. In the future, the operation of the visitor center, the professional education and mission of the interpreters' ecological resources, and the training and guidance of tourists by interpreters will be very helpful for the sustainability of the ecotourism destination.

This research was conducted in an attempt to understand human lifestyles in on-line game world. Q methodology was used to investigate players in Mabinogi, which is an on-line game(MMORPG). Based on 82 behavior statements, 6 types of on-line game lifestyle were found : Self -Enhancer, Self -Expressionist, Relation-Oriented, Isolation -Antisocial, Social Contributor, and Self-Interest. The behavior patterns of the 6 types were then compared to identify similarities and differences amongst them in psychological meanings and values in the on-line game life. The results showed that the lifestyles in on-line game world encompass both the reflection of the lifestyles in the real world and also the creation of new life patterns that players desire. The process of developing lifestyles in the online game world illustrates the emergence and evolution of human life on new social environment which is established by digital technology. On-line game world can be defined as new life space in which people is able to create new identity and new culture.

Landscape design pursues a balance among different values in our society, but aesthetic value and ecological value in landscapes must bring complex relationships into harmony. Ecological aesthetics can be defined as a domain of study that manages the relationship between landscape ecology and landscape aesthetics to create aesthetically attractive and ecologically beneficial landscapes. Despite the importance of the research area, there has been limited empirical research addressing ecological aesthetics. This article aspires to connect and expand the conceptual framework to the research methodologies of ecological aesthetics. First, this study suggests a conceptual framework that examines the relationship between landscape and perceptual process in the context of ecological aesthetics. This framework stresses the importance of information and design intervention as moderators in this relationship. From this framework, three key topics in ecological aesthetics arise: (1) correlation between ecological integrity and aesthetic preference, (2) "compromised" design and management intervention principles that enhance aesthetic pleasure and still have biodiversity, and (3) the impact of information intervention in aesthetic experience. The framework indicated three domains affect each other; thus, when one domain is studied, the other two need to be considered. Secondly, several theoretical and empirical studies on ecological aesthetics will be reviewed from a methodological point of view. This will help to consider ecological aesthetics research, which has primarily been limited to theoretical discourse in empirical research.

This study analyzed the consciousness and attitudes of local residents to the development plan of Sobaeksan Jarackgil by applying the social exchange theory to provide basic data for the establishment of the Mountainous Ecology Trail Development Plan, collecting opinions of local residents. For this, we conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey and personal interview targeting 150 residents of seven villages. Summarizing the results, first, because of analyzing the consciousness of the residents, most of the local residents turned out to be aware of the Sobaeksan Jarackgil development plan and agreed on it. Second, as a result of analyzing the consciousness of residents, for attitudes according to gender, females expected more than males of exchanging with visitors and excavation of cultural assets. Furthermore for attitudes according to age, groups aged under 60 turned out to be concerned about the increase of environmental pollutions, rise in crimes, destruction of cultures, and the induction of conflicts among residents. For attitudes according to occupations, farm workers were worried about the destruction of ecology, and for local characteristics and damages to the landscape, all of the local residents turned out to be concerned. It was shown that groups that agreed on the development plan expected positively on most of the items of economic, environmental, and sociocultural aspects, while those that disagreed on the plan were anxious for negative effects such as landscape damages and the increase of environmental pollutions from the environmental point of view, and the induction of conflicts among residents from the point of sociocultural perspective.

하천의 상류부터 하류까지 통합적이고 유기적인 수질관리를 통해 모든 생명에 젖줄이 될 수 있는 하천환경을 조성하는 방안을 모색하고 가용 수자원의 효율적 활용을 통해 건천화된 영산강의 유량을 풍부하게 하는 한편, 이상강우에 대비한 고품격 하천설계로 재해로부터 안전한 하천으로 역할을 수행할 수 있는 방안을 강구할 필요가 있다. 더욱 생물의 서식지를 복원하고 단절된 하천을 연계하여 BLUE-GREEN 네트워크를 형성하고 하천의 생물다양성을 증진하여 많은 동 식물들이 활동하고 서식하는 생태적으로 건전한 하천으로 조성하는 방안과 마한 및 백제문화의 산물인 영산강 유역의 역사유적과 황금박쥐 서식처 등과 같은 환경자원을 발굴 연계하여 미래지향적인 지역문화를 재창조하는 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 미래지향적 인 지역문화를 창조하고 하천의 생물다양성을 증진하기 위해 가장 우선시 되어야 할 수질개선을 위해 영산강 유역에서 가장 시급한 문제점을 발굴하고 맑고 문제점 해결을 위한 대안을 설정하여 수질모델을 이용하여 대안에 따른 수질모델을 이용하여 수질개선 효과를 분석하였다.

최근 정부에서는 자연형 하천정비사업을 추진하고 있으나 정비방안이나 정비공법을 선정하기 위한 하천의 환경특성분석은 기술적 관점에서 주관적으로 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 경제적이고 효율적인 하천정비를 위해서는 객관적이고 계량적인 지표를 이용한 구간별 하천환경 특성분석이 필요하다. 그러나, 적절한 구간구분기준과 하천환경특성을 분석하기 위한 합리적 판단방법이 마련돼 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 하천환경지수라는 계량적 지표를 개발하여 국가하천을 대상으로 구간별 하천환경특성을 분석하였다. 하천환경지수는 하천의 형태적 특성, 생태 환경적 특성, 이 치수적 특성, 사회 문화적 특성과 관련된 여러 인자들 중에서 인자선정원칙과 자료의 구득성을 고려하여 선정된 16개 인자로 구성하였고, 하천환경지수의 적용가능성을 검토하기 위하여 합리적인 하천구간 구분기준도 제시하였다. 아울러 국가하천에 대한 GIS 정보와 선정된 하천환경지수 및 구간구분기준을 적용하여 국가하천에 대한 하천환경특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 구간별 하천환경 정비사업 우선순위 및 정비방안을 설정하고자 할 때 적용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose underlying this study is to evaluate tourism development impacts from analyzing residents' and tourists' perceptions. Questionnaire surveys were carried on Kanhyun area in Kangwondo, Korea. Generally, residents in the area perceive positive economic impacts due to tourism development, however levels of employment and economic independence of the locality are perceived low. Sociocultural changes also bring negative aspects in life and residents' awareness of environmental impacts show far more negative. Tourists' satisfaction levels with the area and the management attributes are relatively high. Some suggestions are made based on the result of the survey to help the area to be more successful as a tourist destination. More comprehensive research is needed for the future study.

본 연구는 지역이 가지고 있는 중요한 자원을 자연 생태적 요소, 역사 문화적 요소, 시각 환경적 요소 등으로 분류한 후 충남지역 16개 시 군을 대상으로 군의 상징적 요소로서 가치 있는 자원의 발굴과 동시에 개발에 밀려 점점 사라져가는 농산어촌 대표경관의 추출을 통해 자원의 중요성을 AHP(계층 분석적 의사 결정기법)모델을 통해 분석하여 상호 중요도를 파악하고자 한다. 이러한 연구를 통해 지역의 대표적인 상징적 요소와 경관적 요소의 상관성을 파악함과 동시에 중요도에 따라 순위(ranking ordering)를 결정함으로서 지역의 정체성(identity)을 확보하고, 향후 보전할 자원의 특성을 파악함으로써 지역의 문화적, 환경적, 생태적 자원가치의 패러다임을 구축하고자 한다. 연구방법은 1차적으로 문헌조사를 통한 지역의 자원특성에 대한 분류체계를 설정한 후 전문가 집단을 선정하여 설문조사를 통한 통계적 분석방법을 사용하고자 한다. 전문가 집단은 지역에 대한 비교적 잘 파악하고 있는 지역전문가(관련대학 교수, 공무원, 연구원 등)로 구성하였으며, 1, 2차 설문을 통한 상징성 및 대표경관자원을 최종적으로 선정한 후, 3차 설문에서는 농촌 및 경관관련 전문가 집단을 재선정하여 AHP(계층 분석적 의사결정)기법을 통한 자원의 중요도를 파악하고자 한다. 분석방법은 자료의 계량적 분석을 위해 통계프로그램인 SPSS 12.0 for Windows와 도출된 상징요소의 가중치를 파악하기 위해 AHP 프로그램인 ExpertChoice 2006을 사용하여 도출된 상징요소의 가중치별 순위를 측정하여 분석의 과학성, 논리성, 타당성을 확보하고자 한다.

This study compares and analyses the impacts of holding domestic garden expos that will be fundamental for holding garden expos in the future. Satisfaction with the three sites of the 2013 Suncheon Bay International Gardening Expo, 2015 Seoul Gardening Expo, and 2022 Goyang International Flower Fair, as well as factors affecting the satisfaction in economic, social/cultural, environment/ecology, and operation aspects, were analyzed. As a result of the study, the satisfaction level of all three sites was high, with a value of 3.5 or higher. In particular, satisfaction with the 2013 Suncheon Bay International Gardening Expo was the highest. It was found that there was a difference between the satisfaction level of the 2013 Suncheon Bay International Gardening Expo and the 2015 Seoul Gardening Expo. As a regional festival, the 2013 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo has acquired a high status due to the 'Suncheon Bay Garden' being designated as the first National Garden. It is thought that great satisfaction was obtained because economic, social, cultural, and environmental revitalization was achieved by matching the values of citizen participation and ecological conservation. As a result of the comparison of perception types affecting the satisfaction by garden fair, satisfaction at the 2013 Suncheon Bay International Gardening Expo and the 2015 Seoul Gardening Expo, it was found that both affected all four aspects. The 2022 Goyang International Flower Fair did not affect satisfaction in the operational aspect. This seems to be because the Goyang International Flower Fair is already a fixed local brand. As a result of analyzing the detailed factors of perception that affect satisfaction, the three target sites were commonly analyzed, including social and cultural factors, which attract cultural events, improve pride and affection for the region, and help educate children. In terms of environmental and ecological factors were analyzed as an inconvenience in life due to traffic congestion. It can be seen that it has the same meaning as the comparative analysis of the difference in factors on the satisfaction of the target site. There is no difference in the effect on satisfaction in terms of social·cultural, and environmental·ecological aspects, but there are differences in terms of economy and operation. Based on the analysis results of this study, to hold a domestic garden expo in the future, it is necessary to properly utilize "environmental" and "ecological" garden aspects that have potential values according to the region's characteristics to develop sustainable, eco-friendly tourism resources. In addition, values will be more apparent when cultural and artistic programs are planned to establish a differentiated identity in the host area and are appropriately used as a marketing means for a local fair. A well-planned local festival through communication with local residents can affect the image of the region and lead to the revitalization of the local communities by securing urban competitiveness along with the establishment of urban brands, so it can be said that local residents' participation and national or local organizations' cooperation is essential.
