  • In this paper, We designed and implemented a web based PBL system for ICT training. We surveyed special qualities and a learning model which have been researched for web based PBL system. According to the result of preceding research, we designed a web based PBL system consisted of teaming guidance, learning subject, collaboration learning, loaming result, help center, bulletin board. Also, We applied the web based PBL system to beginner. According to the result of this application, it was found that the students had more interest in learning and utilization of the system when using the web based PBL system. And the web based PBL system was very useful in setting up a problem-solving plan and a ICT learning plan.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop practical problem-based home economics teaching.learning process plans about a unit 'the youth and consumer life' of middle school eighth-grade Technology and Home Economics by applying blended learning(BL) strategy. According to ADDIE instructional design model, this study was conducted in the following procedure: analysis, design/development, implementation, and evaluation. In the stage of design and development, the selected unit was converted into a practical problem-based unit, and practical problem-based teaching. learning process plans were designed in detail by using BL strategy. An online study room for practical problem-based home economics instruction grounded in BL strategy was prepared by using Edunet(http://community.edunet4u.net/${\sim}$consumer2). Eight-session lesson plans were mapped out, and study aids for students and materials for teachers were prepared. In the implementation stage, the first-session teaching plans that dealt with a minor question 'what preparations should be made to become a wise consumer' were utilized when instruction was provided to 115 eighth graders who were in three different province, and the other one was in a middle school in the city of Daejeon. The experimental teaching was implemented for two weeks in the following procedure: preliminary program, pre-online learning, main instruction and post- online learning. The preliminary program was carried out in a session in the classroom, and pre-online learning was provided before the main instruction was given in a session in the classroom. After the main instruction was completed, post-online learning was offered. In the evaluation stage, a survey was conducted on all the learners and teachers to find out their opinions and suggestions.

  • This study is a qualitative study to grasp the meaning of the effective role of tutors of college students experiencing problem-based learning through focus group interviews. The subjects of this study were 4th grade students in the Department of Nursing who had experienced PBL, and a total of 21 people were divided into 3 groups and interviewed. Data were analyzed in content to find meaningful topics. The results of this study were analyzed into two subjects and eight categories. Based on the research results, if we summarize the role of effective tutors recognized by students in PBL. 1) Create a permissive atmosphere so that students can express their ideas freely and interact. 2) Give praise and encouragement. 3) Encourage all learners to participate. In particular, learners with low participation should be asked questions to promote active discussion. 4) Avoid unnecessary intervention and participate in the discussion together. 5) Adjust the learning speed and manage the time well. 6) Develop a scenario that meets the goals. 7) Classes are run around questions that can promote learners' thinking. 8) It plays a role of helping to form knowledge by providing positive feedback to learners' responses.

  • Problem-Based Learning has many implications on teaching and learning. Through the problem-Based Learning, students device their plans to solve the given problems and discuss with workers to find and share some ideas or mathematical contents needed to solve those problems. In this paper we studied characteristics of Problem-Based Learning problem and tried o find out the standard criterion of problem analysis that were appropriate to Problem-Based Learning. We applied them to analyze problems in textbooks and problems that were developed for Problem-Based Learning. Using he result, the further research questions and implications were suggested.

  • The Internet is appearing a new paradigm called Web 2.0 which 'Participation', 'Sharing', 'Openness', 'Cooperation'. Web 2.0 is expanded by experts and general users and many people's ideas can solve more problems than an expert's idea. The collective intelligence is techniques that express the valuable of Web 2.0. For this reason, the collective intelligence has attracted attention because of its potential as an educational tool. The purpose of this study is to develop a PBL-based programming instruction model using collective intelligence to improve students' problem solving abilities and programming attitudes and verified its effectiveness. As a result, the developed instruction model showed significant differences in the students' problem solving abilities and programming attitudes. According to these results, these have been proved that a PBL-based programming instruction model using collective intelligence has an influence to the students' problem solving abilities and programming attitudes.

  • The present study tries to identify the characteristics of Problem Based Learning (PBL), which affects the development of middle school students' science self-efficacy. Additionally, we have tried to analyze the relationship within those characteristics to demonstrate the processes of science self-efficacy development. In line with this reasoning, we have developed a 20-module, problem-based learning science program and applied this program to 9th grade students (n=17). Two rounds of qualitative interviews have been conducted with each participant after the program, which has been analyzed with the well-documented method by Corbin and Strauss (2007). As a result, three characteristics of problem based learning have been identified to affect the development of science self-efficacy: a) authentic and ill-structured problem sets, b) small group activity, and c) result sharing. Further analysis has revealed that an authentic and ill-structured problem set as a condition precedent of self-efficacy development, while small group activity has worked as an acceleration condition. Lastly, sharing the result works as a transition condition to future interest on science-related activity or choosing science-related majors.

  • The purpose of this study is to utilize new way of learning, Problem-Based Learning, for learning of VisualBasic programming. Providing authentic problems is a critical factor for programming learning because the skill may be not such a simple command learning but includes a variety of complexity. The objective of the learning is to develop quiz using VisualBasic programming. With programming skill, students was expected to solve the problem through peer collaboration activities as well as evaluation by peer and group composites. According to descriptive survey, it is concluded that students figure out their own learning status clearly. Furthermore, improvement of learning attitude and participation affect satisfaction and self-confidence.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a practical problem-based lesson plan for the "Understanding Myself and My Family" unit and to examine the effects of the lesson plan. Learning objectives and contents were selected, and a practical problem-based lesson plan for five sessions was developed and implemented. With 150 students participating in the study, a pre-test and post-test comprised of a questionnaire were conducted to explore the effectiveness of the lesson plan on the students' sex role characteristics, awareness of gender-role equity in occupational, familial and societal settings and of participation in household chores. Results from the post-test revealed that the students displayed androgynous sex-role characteristics, a heightened awareness of gender-role equity and a higher degree of participation in household chores after the five sessions. Assessment of the class was found to be very positive. Consequently the study showed that the lesson proved to be helpful for the students.
