  • The microorganism isolated from soil was identified as Bacillus coagulans by morphological and biochemical analyses and API-50CH/B kit, which was an identification kit for Bacillus species, and named as B. coagulans DL-1. It produced an extracellular biopolymer. Maximum production of biopolymer was 5.00 $\pm$0.15 g/$\ell$ in a $7\ell$bioreactor with an aeration rate of 1.0 vvm and an agitation speed of 500 rpm when concentrations of glucose and yeast as the optimal carbon and nitrogen sources were 2.0% (w/v) and 0.25% (w/v), which were optimized with a flask scale. Gas chromatographic analysis showed that the biopolymer producded by B. coagulans DL-1 consisted of glucose and rhanmose and their molar ratios was about 9 : 1. Its average molecular weight was 2.80$\times$$10^5$ with gel permeation chromatographic (GPC) analysis.

  • Generally, density is used as a measure of effectiveness (MOE) of the level of service (LOS) for the basic segment of the roadway facility, but can not express the operational condition of the roadway facility properly because there can be an error in the computed density compared with the density measured in the field. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the real-time traffic characteristic data (traffic flow, speed, occupancy, headway, spacing, etc.) from the detectors installed on the mainline section of urban freeway under the study, analyze the maximum flow rate from the relationship between the real-time traffic characteristics collected, and evaluate the LOS criteria within the basic segment of the urban freeway based on the relationship between the occupancy and the v/c ratio depending on the level of service.

  • The reduction rate of pesticide residues on spinach(bifenthrin, metalaxyl, procymidone), chard(bifenthrin, imidacloprid) and mallow(bifenthrin, chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid) were tested on each step of washing and boiling(spinach: 1, 3, 5min., chard: 3, 6, 9min., mallow: 10, 20, 30min.). The reduction rates of bifenthrin and procymidone by washing were $58{\sim}64%$ and 82%, and these were not changed significantly after boiling. In case of imidacloprid, the rates showed 43% on chard and 12% on mallow by washing, and these were highly increased to 94% after boiling. And the reduction rate of metalaxyl and chloropyrifos were 69% and 11% by washing, and $96{\sim}98%$ and $77{\sim}79%$ by boiling. Specifically we monitored the pesticide residues on both boiled vegetable and its water because there are used to cook as soup in Korea. The total residual amounts of imidacloprid and chloropyrifos were effectively removed on both boiled mallow and its water ($12%{\rightarrow}34{\sim}40%$, $11%{\rightarrow}76{\sim}79%$), however, the other tested pesticides were not changed on pesticide residues when calculated with total amounts on boiled vegetable and its water. These explained the other pesticides were just moved vegetable to water by boiling.

  • Weeding effect was investigated based on the leaf stages to several different herbicide treatments for an integrated weed management of herbicide resistant Echinochloa oryzoides to ACCase and ALS inhibitors in a rice field. Efficacy of soil-applied herbicide treatments before resistant E. oryzoides occurred was very effective. Pentaxazon 5% SC showed over 98% of weeding effect although E. oryzoides were emerged 31 days after the treatment. Until the leaf stage of 2.5, five herbicides, azimsulfuron carfenstole 1.05% GR, bensulfuron-methyl benzobicyclone mefenacet 24.52% SC, bensulfuron-methyl fentrazamide 7% SC, bensulfuron-methyl mefenacet oxadiargyl 21.6% SC and mefenacet pyrazosulfuron-ethyl 3.57% GR showed perfect weeding effect. Benzobicyclone mefenacet penoxulam 21.5% SC and mefenacet pyrazosulfuron-ethyl 3.57% GR were effective at the leaf stage of 3.0. It is very important to select the right herbicides for timing and their systematic application for controlling of E. oryzoides resistant to ACCase- and ALS-inhibitors.

  • This study was conducted to find the levels of reduction in rice yield and to determine economic threshold levels as affected by densities of Scirpus planiculmis and Lindernia dubia in wet seeding rice cultivation. In wet seeding rice cultivation, yield of rice in densities of S. planiculmis (192 per $m^2$) and L. dubia (384 per $m^2$) was reduced by 43 and 22%, respectively. Relationship between rice yield and densities of weeds were predicted with these equations of Y=531.3kg/(1+0.003931x), $r^2$=0.964 for S. planiculmis and Y=547.0kg/(1+0.000792x), $r^2$=0.922 for L. dubia. According to Cousens' method, economic threshold densities of S. planiculmis and L. dubia were calculated by 7.2 and 34.9 per $m^2$, respectively. This result indicated that yield of rice in wet seeding rice cultivation could be reduced by over economic threshold densities of S. planiculmis and L. dubia.

  • Recently the interest in secondary use of medical information has emerged. But the domestic legislation or guidelines, such as being able to say that already specialize in healthcare information, can be seen a 'national medical privacy guidelines'. However the guidelines have suggested that only a violation of privacy laws in the medical information, it does not defined clearly with respect to protected health information(PHI) for secondary use. In this paper, we learn the HIPAA(Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Privacy Rule of the US legislation which provides a non-identifiable screen instructions for secondary utilization of medical information, domestic guidelines and other country's guidelines. comparing with the HIPAA, national medical privacy guidelines and the domestic studies, we propose a new domestic target non-identifying information suitable for the domestic field and present future research direction.
