This study examined the understanding of 24 pre-service teachers about the three contexts for constructing the exponential graphs. The three contexts consisted of the infinite points context (2009 revision curriculum textbook method), the infinite straight lines context (French textbook method), and the continuous compounding context (2015 revision curriculum textbook method). As the result of the examination, most of the pre-service teachers selected the infinite points context as easier context for introducing the exponential graph. They noted that it was the appropriate method because they thought their students would easily understand, but they showed the most errors in the graph presentation of this method. These errors are interpreted as a lack of content knowledge. In addition, a number of pre-service teachers noted that the infinite straight lines context and continuous compounding context were not appropriate because these contexts can aggravate students' difficulty in understanding. What they pointed out was interpreted in terms of knowledge of content and students, but at the same time those things revealed a lack of content knowledge for understanding the continuous compounding context. In fact, considering the curriculum they have experienced, they were not familiar with this context, continuous compounding. These results suggest that pre-service teacher education should be improved. Finally, some of the pre-service teachers mentioned that using technology can help the students' difficulties because they considered the design of visual model.

This study aims at analyzing the trend of feeling under the neo-liberalism era through the soap operas. In particular, this article focuses on 'envy'. Unlike jealousy, envy is the feeling of comparison appearing in people in similar circumstances that is displayed within the dual relation with its characteristic of having dynamics on the fortune (victory) of the other party for an unpleasant feeling, denial and interference. However, under the neo-liberalistic order with unlimited competition as its characteristic, 'envy' has the tendency to discourse with its passion of subjects participating in the limited share of competition. This begins in 'envy' under a soap opera to lead to competition to reproduce as the drama to dream of success for self-development. Under the circumstances, the feeling or behavior of characters not showing the general pattern but to individualize with the envious behavior of evil characters to turn away from the structural context for characters of issue of suffering originated within. For example, the soap opera imagines with 'envy' for the feeling of characters to reproduce the neo-liberalistic subject in darkness as well as to transfigure the suffering or context encountered by the characteristics to present the issues.

The purpose of this study is to grasp pre-service secondary teachers' understanding-realities for Taylor series convergence conceptions and to examine a teaching way using GeoGebra based on the understanding-realities. In this study, most pre-service teachers have abilities to calculate the Taylor series and radius of convergence, but they are vulnerable to conceptual problems which give meaning of the equality between a given function and its Taylor series at any point. Also they have some weakness in determining the change of radius of convergence according to the change of Taylor series' center. To improve their weakness, we explore a teaching way using dynamic and CAS functionality of GeoGebra. This study is expected to improve the pedagogical content knowledge of pre-service secondary mathematics teachers for infinite series treated in high school mathematics.

For the past 20 years, expert groups and citizens in Korea have debated on the usefulness of personalized medicine. These debates were mainly focussed on the possibility of the promise - people mainly discussed whether it was a probable future or if it was just a hype. Following Hedgecoe and Tutton(2002) who argue that it is only a 'rhetorial device', we will analyze about 9,000 news media coverages that deal with personalized medicine. With these data, we will show that the same terminology of personalized medicine have been used very differently according to the time and people who use it. Our research will show that this term has both diachronic heterogeneity and synchronic equivocality. This has happened because of the innate lack that exists in our symbolic system. Policy and governance regarding new technology is important because they provide quilting point to those slippery term/signifiant. Also we would like to carefully suggest that we might be able to call this phenomena as signifiant-politics.

This study tried to analyze symbolism of the work from the title by looking into its linguistic meaning. The title not only exposes artist's thoughts but also speaks for the work subject. Also, it designates the world composed of characters in the work, and further it can be said as endowing overall meaning on the entire work by suggesting possibility of limitless meaning invention as well. As a result of reviewing the symbolism shown at the title after analyzing such points through linguistic contexts, the title named with Adam's language was used for just expressing the essence of characters in the work by transcending time and space, and the title meaning exposed relational aspects between characters and occurred accidents through the association process on 'signifiant' and 'signifie.' These relational aspects are expressed to mutual contraposition, but their relations finally show another one orientation too. In case of the title made by the arbitrary nature of language, a fact could be known that it was results of customs completely unrelated with the practical work and depended on the experience by any accident as being appeared from cultural background of the country where the work was produced. Also, the signification of language occurred in unique regulations and systems, and it was relevant to seeing things through concepts. The proper noun was disappeared, and the symbolism was given again from relational aspects accordingly. It was turn out that similarity between the work and title contained contents of entire work, and played a role of expressing greed in the narrative briefly.
