  • Wireless networks make the users' work more convenient and efficient, but such networks can impair the availability of network resources and can cause leakage of important corporate information when there are security threats. In particular, damage has increased because of security attacks that take advantage of the vulnerabilities created by a wireless AP (Access Point). Public organizations and companies have gradually selected the WIPS (Wireless Intrusion Prevention System) to block wireless security threats and protect the internal network. However, it is very costly for other organizations and companies to introduce the WIPS solution. This paper proposes implementing a WIPS Sensor by using Raspberry Pi to reduce these costs and to block the various wireless LAN security threats. This implementation would protect corporate information and provide consistent services at a relatively reasonable price.

  • This paper introduces a new split-TCP approach for improving TCP performance over IEEE 802.11-based wireless LANs. TCP over wireless LANs differently from wired networks is not aggressive, which is a fundamental reason for poor performance. Therefore, we propose TAS (TCP-Aware Sub-layer) to migigate this problem. Our scheme extends the split-connection approach that divides a connection into two different connections at a split point such as an access point (AP). Using TAS, a wireless node emulates TCP ACK packets using MAC ACK frames, instead of receiving real TCP ACK packets. We compared TAS with both normal TCP and I-TCP (Indirect TCP) by NS2 simulation. Results show that TAS achieves higher throughput, more fair resource allocation and, in power-saving mode, shorter delays.

  • Recent advancement in RF technology and wireless communications has enabled the development of noble networks. Bluetooth that can be used in various application field is a kind of WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network) standard that is widely known. Bluetooth enables voice and data applications to operate simultaneously. Various applications have been implemented based on standard Profiles. In this paper, we describes the development of Biuetooth network AP(Access Point) system for network connection of Bluetooth devices. Unlike headset, mouse, and keyboard, the access point should have capability to support multiple connection and stabilized network throughput. We have designed and developed the hardware system, core stack and profiles on embedded system to comply with standard specification. Our system showed compatibility and good protocol performance through testing with lots of products that is available in market.

  • Wireless mesh network extends the limited coverage of conventional wireless service from one-hop access point to wider area. It is recognized as an important issue to provide seamless handoff in the wide coverage of wireless mesh network. A long handoff delay may cause high packet loss and disconnection of service, degrading the network performance. The handoff delay is mainly introduced from the channel scanning process obtaining information to make handoff decision and the unnecessary handoffs due to inaccurate handoff decision. In this paper, we propose the handoff algorithm based on one-way trip time (OTT) to expedite the handoff procedure. As compared to the handoff algorithm based on the receiving signal power, the proposed algorithm takes advantage of OTT to obtain the necessary handoff information in a relatively shorter time and reduce the unnecessary handoffs. The performance of proposed algorithm is evaluated through the simulations. It is verified that the proposed handoff algorithm can effectively enhance the handoff accuracy, and therefore reduce the handoff delay and unnecessary handoffs.

  • The deployment density of AP increases as well as the density WLAN stations due to increase of WLAN use and the real performance of WLAN is degraded. To improve the performance, there are many PHY/MAC technologies and OFDMA and full duplex are promising technologies among them. In conventional OFDMA WLAN MAC relate works, there are some limitations in terms of channel utilization and collision probability. Thus, it need to research for effective channel allocation protocol. Full duplex can transmit data on the same time and same frequency resource so it can allocate channel more flexible than half duplex. In this paper, we prose the OFDMA FD-MAC(Full Duplex MAC) protocol that it allocates the sub-channels based on the idle channel information for full duplex pair. In addition, it shows the throughput improvement by performance analysis.

  • A RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) system Is a kind of Radio Frequency Communication System and a branch of Automatic Data Collection System. The RFID System is composed of RF Tag(or Transponder) and RFID Reader(controller). This paper deal with Wireless communications that acquired RF Tag ID by RFID reader, and then target system will transmit Tag ID to RFID Server through the internet using Wireless LAN. The RFID system of Todays are commonly used by a wired RFID system. In this system uses commonly used Wireless LAN, and then we can connect the internet if we have a AP(Wireless Lan Access Point). Internet connection can make a transmission of RF Tag ID, and can make a reception of returning data that are images or information.

  • Recent researches on autonomous driving of vehicles are becoming very active, and it is a trend to assist safe driving and improve driver's convenience. Autonomous vehicles are required to combine artificial intelligence, image recognition capability, and Internet communication between objects. Because mobile telecommunication networks have limitations in their processing, they can be easily implemented and scale using an easily expandable Wi-Fi network. We propose a wireless design method to construct such a vehicle control network. We propose the arrangement of AP and the software configuration method to minimize loss of data transmission / reception of mobile terminal. Through the design of the proposed network system, the communication performance of the moving vehicle can be dramatically increased. We also verify the packet structure of GPS, video, voice, and data communication that can be used for the vehicle through experiments on the movement of various terminal devices. This wireless design technology can be extended to various general purpose wireless networks such as 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 10GHz Wi-Fi. It is also possible to link wireless intelligent road network with autonomous driving.

  • RTLS(Real-Time location system) for Location tracking of personnel and equipment of a construction site is now in development, among these techniques the wireless LAN-based techniques are being considered. To introduce these techniques to the construction site, the 3-dimensional visibility analysis prior to the installation location of AP must be simulated. At this time, three-dimensional visibility analysis considering the propagation distance of RTLS signal of AP(Access Point) should be performed. In this research, two processing methods LOS boundary are tested to various grid size of gridded terrestrial LiDAR data, and the results were compared. In evaluations of visible area, the Scanline Fill-Method shows approximately 7.4% more visible area than the Shadow Clipping-Method, but the Shadow Clipping-Method shows stable results for the grid size. About the processing time, the Scanline Fill-Method is about 2 times faster compared to the Shadow Clipping-Method.

  • The IEEE 802.1x can be using various user authentication mechanisms: One-Time Password, Certificate-Based TLS, Challenge/Response and Keberos through EAP(Extended Authentication Protocol). But, IEEE 802.1x also has vulnerabilities about the DoS, the session hijacking and the Man in the Middle attack due to the absence of AP authentication. In this paper, we propose a WLAN secure system which can offer a safety secure communication and a user authentications by intensified the vulnerability of spoofing and DoS attacks. The suppose system offers a safe secure communication because it offers sending message of integrity service and also it prevents DoS attack at authentication initial phase.

  • With increasing use of wireless mobile devices like smartphone and tablet PC, telecommunication companies have been providing the internet service by installing a multitude of access points (AP) in subway stations. Most of these APs use frequency of 2.4 GHz band range and the three telecom providers (SKT, KT, LGT) are using the limited channels within this range without any regulations. The channels within 2.4GHz band are already saturated as the companies are setting up wireless AP even within the subway trains for better service. This can affect other 2.4GHz wireless devices used for other purposes with channel interference, etc. This study has tested and analyzed the effects of the wireless APs installed within the subway stations and trains for the internet service on ZigBee-based sensor network for the intelligent surveillance system of urban transit, which is currently being developed and installed.
