무선 인터넷의 발전으로 PDA, 휴대폰, 노트북 등 여러 모바일 환경에서의 인터넷 사용이 유선 인터넷 환경만큼이나 편리하게 되었다. 이에 따라 인터넷 컨텐츠 제공자들은 기존 유선 인터넷 컨텐츠를 사용하여 무선인터넷 컨텐츠로 제공하고자 한다. 그러나 모바일 장치의 디스플레이 제한, 모바일과 PC의 환경적 차이등으로 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠를 그대로 사용하기는 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 위의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 새로운 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 HTML형태의 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠들을 XML문서로 변환하여 컴포넌트화하고 이를 이용하여 무선인터넷에서 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠들을 사용할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 이 시스템으로부터 생성된 XML문서를 가지고 모바일 환경에서의 제한된 입출력과 취약한 보안성을 고려하여 인터넷 서비스 사용시 발생되는 사용자정보의 반복적 입력을 자동화하는 사용자정보 자동 적용 시스템을 제안한다. 기존 인터넷 컨텐츠를 모바일 환경 내에서 사용하기 위한 작업을 자동화함으로써 새로운 유무선 통합 인터넷 서비스를 만들 수 있다.

무선 ATM망에서 VBR 서비스는 매 순간마다 대역폭 요구 사항이 가변적이기 때문에 채널의 효율적 분배가 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 무선 ATM망에서 VBR 트래픽을 서비스하기 위하여 지연 시간이 부족한 패킷들에게 우선순위를 부여하는 슬롯 할당 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서 단말기는 VBR 트래픽의 변화정보를 미니 셀에 피기백하고, 이를 예약방식으로 기지국에 전송한다. 한편 기지국에서는 각 단말기가 전송한 트래픽의 변화정보를 기반으로 슬롯을 할당한다. 슬롯 할당에 있어서 기지국은 전송을 요구한 패킷들의 최대 전송지연 허용 시간과 요청한 슬롯 수를 확인한 후, 요구한 슬롯을 다음 프레임에 즉시 할당하지 않고, 최대 전송지연 허용 시간 범위 내에서 전송지연 시간이 적은 패킷에 우선적으로 슬롯을 할당한다.

최근 무선랜의 이용이 급격하게 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 무선랜은 이동통신에 비해 빠른 데이터 전송이 가능하여 화상통신, VoIP, 동영상 스트리밍 등 멀티미디어 서비스에 적합하다. 하지만 무선랜은 서비스 제공 영역이 작기 때문에 사용자가 자주 이동할 경우 핸드오프가 발생하여 딜레이가 증가한다. 딜레이에 민감한 멀티미디어의 경우 서비스 품질에 영향을 받을 수 있으므로 이에 대한 고려가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 핸드오프의 인증 과정에서 발생하는 딜레이를 줄이기 위해 핸드오프 할 때 사용되는 임시 키인 THK 의 사용을 제안한다. THK 를 이용할 경우 인증 서버를 이용하지 않고도 인증이 가능하며 사용하는 메시지의 양도 작기 때문에 딜레이 감소가 가능하다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 우리가 제안한 프로토콜을 이용할 경우 현재 사용 중인 프로토콜에 비해 최고 2 배의 성능 향상을 얻을 수 있음을 보여준다.

DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communications), which is a radio mobile communication protocol in ITS, is suited for traffic related information services. But in WAC(Wide-Area wireless communications), we could consider a conventional communication infrastructure in the case of supporting other applications besides ITS. Especially considering the current the trends to introduce wireless internet service into the mobile communication network, wireless internet service in ITS system is valuable. Although ITS LLC(Logical Link Control) protocols recommended by Europe and Japan are effective for traffic related services, it is not suitable for services related with geographical information, image or internet. That is because the data traffic characteristics is changed according to service types. Therefore we suggest a logical link control algorithm effective for traffic information related services as well as internet web service, and analyze its performance. As a result of numerical analysis and simulation, proposed algorithm shows larger performance improvements. For traffic information related services, the performance of DSRC LLC recommended by Europe and Japan is the same as that of proposed LLC protocol. However, for wireless internet web service, the performance of proposed protocol is much better than that of LLC protocol used in Europe and Japan.

The advent of LBS is caused by mobility advantage of wireless internet. The mobility has the information such as location which is based on LBS(Location based Services). It comes out as a killer application for wireless internet when market of wireless internet is diffused. In this paper, we build up the technical model and survey the requirement of technologies related LBS expanded as wireless internet services rapidly. First, we construct the conceptual model for LBS based on functions of LBS and characteristics of foreign models. This model is consisted of generalized components of LBS and can be used as a basic model to survey the requirement of each technologies. Second, we survey the demand of each technology for LBS. Then we analyze the importance of technologies for LBS to prepare developing various LBS. From this research, we can introduce proper plans and policy for LBS to develop technology stepwise, to promote industry activities and how to make up the foundation for LBS by government.

An example of such a new device is a mobile phone. The demand for wireless data communication is growing rapidly. However, agencies have not yet completed the standardization of the markup language. Due to the evolution of the Mobile Device, the agencies in this field have provided different data formats with each Mobile Device Platform. Traditionally, contents are hand-tailored to suit the target devices. A key problem is that the characteristics and capabilities of mobile devices are too diverse to service the most suitable mobile contents. Owing to this problem, the need for a reusable document description language increases. In this paper, we defined Template file that is common data to service mobile devices. We proposed method that could be effective wireless web service though design and the implementation of the Call Manager & the XSL Generator. In the methodology, when requesting wireless internet service, the mobile device finds out Markup language and hardware specification of the mobile device through the Call Manager component supports. The XSL Generator component creates XSL file dynamically that is the most suitable to device. Finally, contents is serviced to each device by XSLT.

인스턴트 메신저는 데스크탑 PC뿐 아니라 PDA, 핸드헬드 PC 같은 개인용 무선정보기기에서도 활발하게 이용되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 메신저가 데스크탑 환경을 고려한 기능을 그대로 사용하기 때문에 이동성이 있는 무선 환경에서는 활용성이 떨어지고, 사용하기에 불편한 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 리눅스 환경에서 사용자 음성인증로그인, RF 모듈을 이용한 자리비움 자동변환, 단문메시지서비스(Short Message Service) 등 무선 환경에서 필요한 기능을 제공하여 사용자 편리성을 제고한 무선 인스턴트 메시징 시스템의 설계와 구연에 대해 기술한다. 구현된 시스템은 과일전송과 단문메시지서비스를 위한 재버(Jabber) 기반의 프록시와 SMS 송신모듈을 갖는 서버와 USM(Ubiquitous, Smart, Mobile) 클라이언트로 구성된다. USM 클라이언트는 본 논문에서 라이트 XML 파서를 내장하여 메시지 통신시 클라이언트의 작업량을 크게 줄여 우선 클라이언트 프로그램의 최적화를 꾀하였다.

최근 무선 인터넷의 발전으로 인하여 통신 환경의 변화가 급속하게 이루어지고 있다. 또한 PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)의 발전 속도가 일반 데스크탑 PC 의 발전 속도를 상회할 정도로 빠르게 성장하고 있으며, 고성능 모바일 CPU 가 사용되면서부터 다양한 주변기기들을 이용하는 형태까지 발전하고 있다. 이러한 무선 인터넷을 활용한 PDA 의 사용으로 보다 빠르고 다양한 정보의 교환을 할 수 있게 되었으며 사용자의 이동성을 보장하는 서비스의 제공이 가능해졌다. 이러한 무선 인터넷을 활용한 서비스는 현재 시행되고 있는 불법 주차 단속시스템에 신속성과 효율성을 부가하는데 적절하게 적용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 대중화 되고 있는 PDA 와 무선 인터넷을 이용하여 현장에서 처리되는 불법 주차단속 사항을 주차 관리 중앙센터와 무선으로 연계하여 신속한 견인 및 조치가 이루어 질 수 있는 시스템을 설계 하고자 한다.

본 논문에서는 무선선로상의 제약과 무선 단말기의 제한된 자원을 이용하여 무선 인터넷 서비스를 좀 더 효율적으로 제공하기 위한 WBMP(Wireless BitMaP) 변환기와 해석기의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 기술한다. WBMP 변환기는 기존의 이미지를 단색의 압축되지 않은 형태인 WBMP 이미지로 변환하고, 단말기 내의 WBMP 해석기는 WBMP 이미지를 해석하여 브라우저를 통해 나타낸다. WBMP 이미지는 헤더의 구조가 간단하고, 이미지 표현에 사용되는 데이터의 양이 적으므로 무선 환경에 적합한 형태이다. 그러나 컬러 이미지를 변환하면 이미지 정보가 손실되거나 왜곡될 수 있고, 표현된 컬러의 수가 많을수록 손실률은 높아진다. 따라서 향후 그레이-레벨 이미지 또는 컬러 이미지로의 변환 및 해석 기능을 확대 적용할 필요가 있다.

정보통신기술의 발전으로 유 무선 인터넷 사용자가 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있는 가운데 무선 인터넷을 이용한 m-Commerce 의 활성화가 기대되고 있다. 이와 더불어 무선 인터넷에서 안전한 m-Commerce를 제공하기 위해서는 다양한 모바일 기기 환경에 맞춘 무선 인터넷 PKI 서비스가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기 성능, 네트워크 환경, 서비스 종류, 사용자의 보안 요구 사항에 맞추어 경제학 이론에서 출발한 MAUT(Multi-Attribute Utility Theory)와 간결한 휴리스틱스(Simple Heuristics) 알고리즘을 이용한 보안 등급 프로토콜을 동적으로 결정하는 적응적 보안 정책 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이를 바탕으로 PKI와 X9.59 기반의 보안 e/m-Commerce를 구축한다.
