Factors related to Suicide Ideation among Middle School Students (일부 중학생들의 자살생각 및 그의 관련요인)

  • This study was performed to determine the factors related to suicide ideation among some middle school students. A self-administered questionnaires survey was administered to 975 middle school students in Gyeongin area during the period from May 1st to June 30th, 2013. As a result, the suicide ideation of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in the following groups: females, experience of smoking, experience of alcohol drinking, of which the self-recognized body type was fatty, with out regular eating, poor subjective health status, poor home atmosphere, low family life satisfaction, lower school grade, poor relationship with friends, school violence experienced, school life dissatisfaction, severe hopelessness, severe distress, and depression. In particular, the factors related to hopelessness are strongly correlated with the suicide ideation.

Job Satisfaction and Related Factors Among Nursing Officers (일부 간호장교의 직무만족도와 관련요인)

  • This study was performed to determine the job satisfaction and its association with sociodemographic and health related characteristics, job-related factors and job stress among nursing officers. The survey was administered to 350 nursing officers working at military hospitals of the ROK Armed Forces, from May 30 to June 15. The structured self-administered questionnaires were delivered and they were collected without respondents' personal information. As a results, The job satisfaction of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in the group of elder, current drunker, higher positional status, a longer job career, department of general wards, satisfied with their work, fit to the job, haven't considered quitting the job, lower job demand, higher decision latitude and higher support from supervisor. Especially, job stress is highly correlated with job satisfaction. Therefore, to initiate inner motives leading to higher job satisfaction to provide a better working environment for nursing officers, serious effort is necessary to improve the factors related with job stress.

Analysis of Convergent Factors Related to Occupational Stress among General Hospital Administrative Staff (종합병원 행정직원의 직무스트레스와 관련된 융복합적 요인 분석)

  • This study investigates convergent factors associated with occupational stress among General Hospital Administrative Staff(GHAS). The survey was administered to 221 staffs from 11 general hospitals located in J city from November 1st, 2016 to January 31st, 2017, using structured self-administered questionaries without respondents' personal information. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis shows the following results. The occupational stress of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which organizational justice-distributive is lower, a group in which self-esteem is lower, a group in which self-efficacy is lower. The results show explanatory power of 39.5%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to increase organizational justice-distributive, to increase self-esteem, to increase self- efficacy, are required to decrease the occupational stress among GHAS. These results are expected to be utilized for organizational and personnel management to reduce occupational stress in GHAS. In the following study, the research of additional factors and the analysis of structural equation model about the occupational stress among GHAS will be needed.

Analysis of the Influencing Factors on Quality of Nursing Services in General Hospital Nurses using the Structural Equation Model (구조방정식모형을 이용한 종합병원 간호사들의 간호서비스의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석)

  • This study explored the quality of nursing services in relation to a nurse's psychosocial factors (type A behavior pattern, self-esteem, locus of control, and anxiety), job stress, and fatigue. This study targeted 503 nurses who currently work at six different general hospitals in Daejeon city, The data was collected by self-administered questionnaire which was surveyed from April 1 to June 30, 2014. As the result of analysis of covariance, psychosocial factors affect the quality of nursing services more than job stress or fatigue. In addition to that, as parts of psychosocial factors, high self-esteem and low fatigue, job stress, and anxiety increase the quality of nursing services. The research above implies that the quality of nursing services of nurses who work at the general hospital has a correlation with not only the psychosocial factors but also job stress, and fatigue.

Perception of Organizational Trust Culture of Regional General Hospital Employees and its Effect on Organizational Trust Activities (지역 종합병원 종사자의 조직신뢰 문화에 대한 인식이 조직신뢰 활동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to provide basic data for hospital organizational management by analyzing perception of organizational culture of general hospital employees and its effect on organizational trust activities. A total of 437 employees from the 5 general hospitals in G city were surveyed with anonymous self-administered questionnaires and the result was analyzed by t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result, there were differences in the perception of organizational trust culture depending on sex, age, education, and income. The perception of organizational trust culture had a significantly positive correlation with organizational trust activities. The factors such as consideration, social responsibility, morality, and competence had a significantly positive effect on organizational trust activities. This study would help to improve the organizational trust that is perceived by hospital employees by improving organizational trust culture with policy and institutional support.

Factors Related to Occupational Stress among Hospital Administrative Staff (병원 행정직의 직무스트레스와 관련된 요인)

  • This study is performed to determine factors related to occupational stress among some hospital administrative staff. It surveyed 189 staff working in Jeonbuk area during the period from June 1st to July 31th, 2014. The structured self-administered questionaires were delivered and they were collected without respondents' personal information. The results of multiple regression analysis show the followings. The occupational stress of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group of female, a group that the type A behavior pattern is higher, a group that chance locus of control is higher, a group that external locus of control is lower, a group of the lower self esteem, a group of higher psycho-social stress, and a group of higher depression. Their explanatory power was 55.8%. In conclusion, the results of the study indicate that the efforts, to manage the type A behavior pattern and belief of control, to increase self esteem, and to decrease psycho-social stress and depression level, are required to reduce the occupational stress of the hospital administrative staff.

The Effects of Industrial Workers' Job Stress and Oral Health Related Quality of Life on Subjective Happiness in convergence era (융복합시대 산업장 근로자의 직무 스트레스 및 구강건강 관련 삶의 질이 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between industrial workers' job stress and oral health related quality of life and subjective happiness. The subjects of this study were 228 workers, from August 8 to September 2, 2016, research tool was the structured, anonymous, self-administrated questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSSWIN 18.0, t-test and one way ANOVA, Scheffe' post hoc test, Pearson correlation and Hierarchial multiple regression. Negative correlation was found between job stress and OHIP-14 and between job stress and subjective happiness and positive correlation was found between OHIP-14 and subjective happiness. As for the explanatory power of the independent variables affecting subjective happiness, gender, self-reported living status, self-reported general health, dental checkups, and job stress were significant variables. It is therefore necessary to run an industrial oral intervention program on a regular basis and cope positively with stress with the objective of helping workers improve their subjective happiness.

Relationships among Self-Efficacy and Self-Resilience, Oral Health Promotion Lifestyle in Some High School Students (일부 고등학생의 자기효능감 및 자아탄력성과 구강건강증진 생활양식의 연관성)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the association among high school students' self-efficacy, self-resilience, and oral health promotion lifestyle, identify relevant factors, and provide basic data for oral health promotion programs. The subjects of this study were 287 students, research tool was the structured, anonymous, self-administrated questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSSWIN 18.0, Pearson correlation and Hierarchial multiple regression et al. Significant positive correlation was found between self-efficacy and self-resilience and between self-efficacy and oral health promotion lifestyle and positive correlation was also found between self-resilience and oral health promotion lifestyle. Mother's education, past oral health behavior, self-efficacy, and self-resilience affected oral health promotion lifestyle, with the explanatory power of 32.3%. Since self-efficacy and self-resilience are correlated with oral health promotion lifestyle, it is necessary to develop a plan for activating oral health education with the objective of improving the combination of these factors.

Comparison of Effectiveness on Hospital-based Skill Training in Level 2 Emergency Medical Technician (2급 응급구조사 병원임상실습교육 효과 비교)

  • This study is analysis of the effectiveness and satisfaction index of hospital-based skill training (HST) in level 2 emergency medical technicians. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the effective operation. The survey carried out to 70 level 2 emergency medical technicians who participate in HST from July 29 to August 22 in 2013. From the study, self evaluated operation skills scale were 3.09 before training and 3.80 after training. It showed statistically significant enhancements. satisfaction index were 3.80. appopriate education periods were (1~2) weeks (64.3%). the longer the time had been since their training completion, the higher education satisfaction. The multilateral studies on problems and needs of HST and development of training programs that includes hospital training monitoring are necessary.

Factors Related to Quality of Life in the Rural Elderly People Affiliated with Long-term Care Insurance Services (일부 농촌지역 장기요양급여노인들의 삶의 질과 관련 요인)

  • This study was performed to determine the levels of quality of life(QOL) according to the grade of long-term care service in the elderly people who affiliated from long-term care insurance, and to reveal its association with socio-demographic characteristics, health status and health related behaviors. The interviews were performed, during the period from March 1st, to May 31th, 2009, to 410 elderlies in rural areas. As a results, the levels of QOL were lower in the group of higher grade of long-term care insurance. In hierarchial multiple regression analysis, the factors influencing on the level QOL were age, Living status, Subjective health status, Bed ridden status, Disability of body, Urinary incontinence, Amnesia and Frequency of going out. Especially, the health status variables were higher related with QOL than other variables.
