Concept Design of Angular Deviation and Development of Measurement System for Transparency in Aircraft (항공기 투명체의 편각개념 설계 및 측정 시스템 개발)

  • Angular Deviation(AD) on transparency applied to TA-50 Aircraft deteriorates armament system's accuracy because it makes a difference in between actual and theoretical targets. In order to increase accuracy, therefore, TA-50 Aircraft measures AD on transparency and provide the measured values for the integrated mission display computer as a type of AD coefficients. This makes AD revised so that pilots can accurately see the actual target on their head-up display. In order to implement such mechanism into a real field, we develop a new device and system automatically measuring AD for the first time. We also deal with basic concept including AD induction formula as well as operating systems. As a consequence of testing the accuracy and precision for verifying reliability of the system, we got satisfactory results. In specific, the accuracy was within the resultant criterion of 1%. The precision was also satisfied with respect to the whole criteria. The system developed through this research is qualified as a military standard equipment for transparency of the canopy.

A Study on Analysis of vortex and Wave Screening Performance for Fixed-Floating Breakwater According to Cross section (단면형상 변화에 따른 고정된 부유식방파제의 유동장 분석과 소파성능에 관한 연구)

  • 기존의 착저식 방파제를 보완하기 위하여 부유식 방파제가 개발되었고, 많은 연구가 선행되어 왔다. 부유식 방파제의 최대 장점은 경제성과 친환경성이다. 그러나 부유식 방파제는 소파성능이 떨어진다는 단점이 있으며, 이를 개선하기 위해 잠재와 혼용, 배열형에 관한 연구등이 선행되어왔다. 그러나 이것은 경제성이라는 강점을 고려하지 못하였다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 부유식 방파제의 중요한 장점중 하나인 경제성을 고려해, 단면현상 변화만을 이용하여 부유식 방파제의 소파성능 개선하고자 하였다. RANS(Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식에 기초하여 VOF법과 $k-{\varepsilon}$ 난류모델을 결합한 수치모델인 CADMAS-SURF를 이용하였으며, 구조물 단면형상 변화를 이용해 와의 상호 간섭을 유도하였고, 이에 따른 투과율 변화를 관찰 하였다. 결과를 살펴보면 요철1 단면에서는 구조물 전면 하단부분과 구조물 후면 하단부분에서 와의 간섭이 일어났으며 가장 아래 요철 부분에서 유속의 전달현상이 보인다. 투과계수는 일반적인 부유식 방파제와 마찬가지로 L/B가 1~4사이 값인, 비교적 단주기에서는 0.3~0.4의 투과율을 보였으나 L/B가 5를 넘어가면서 0.45~0.55의 투과율을 보였고, 요철2 단면에서는 전면과 후면에서 발달한 와가 전, 후면 돌출부에 의해 바닥까지 전파되지 못하는 양상을 보였으며, 돌출부 사이 중앙부분에서 가장 활발한 와의 간섭을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 돌출부 아래에서 역시 강력한 와의 간섭을 보이고 있다. 투과율 역시 가장 낮은 값을 보였으며 비교적 단주기 구간인 B/L 1~4 에서는 0.2~0.35 사이의 값을 가졌으며 5~10사이구간에서는 0.35~0.34의 값을 보이고 있다. 이 같은 결과는 와의 간섭이 가장 활발하게 나타난 결과로 보인다. 그리고 요철 3단면에서는 전면 돌출부 끝단에서의 활발한 와의 간섭을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 투과율은 세 단면 중 가장 높은 값의 투과율을 보이지만 B/L 3~4 구간에서 요철1 경우보다 낮은 값의 투과율을 보이고 있다. 결과에서 보듯이 도출부의 적절한 조합과 배치를 통해 언급한 연구목표(와의 생성과 간섭, 방파효율 개선)를 달성하였고 추후에 돌출부의 크기와 배치, 흘수의 영향, 수심의 영향 등을 고려한 연구가 진행된다면 더욱 우수한 단면형상을 개발 할 것이라 예상된다.

  • This study aims at dedicating to relevant technology fields by suggesting design methods of structures and estimating their safety in relation to substructure for offshore wind power requiring high safety to various environment conditions. Especially, with respect to 5MW Offshore Wind Power System, this study will provide information about major wind directions and duration in combination with the developing wave climate at the test field. Therefore, connections between wind fields and approaching wave trains will be estimated and their intensity, direction and time shift will be pointed out. Furthermore, the local pressure distribution of breaking waves will be investigated by physical and numerical modeling. The currently applied structural and fatigue assessment of support structures for offshore wind energy converters is based on common design rules. Normally, constructions in structural engineering are treated as limited, single structures. This means that varying aspects of manufacturing are considered by high safety factors.

Effect of Air Void System of High Strength Concrete on Freezing and Thawing Resistance (고강도콘크리트의 동결융해저항에 미치는 기포조직의 영향)

  • It is generally known that the frost-resistance of concrete is much affected by the air content in concrete and by the air void system or air distribution. And also the frost-resistance is believed to vary with the stre¬ngth of concrete. This article is prepared to describe, based on experiment, the effect of the air content and the air void system, particularly the effect of the spacing factor, on the freeze-thaw resistance of the high strength conc¬rete. For this purpose, I first worked on Non-AE concrete to make its compressive strength set about 400 to 500 kg/em'. However, the freeze-thaw test on the Non-AE concrete resulted in low durability factor, I.e., 10-2~0%. Thus to enhance the durability, another supplementary step was needed. I used AE admixture. which enhanced durability by changing the air content from 2% to 12%. The frost-thaw test was then performed 500 cycles on the 20 kind of concrete mixtures which differ in unit cement content and in water-cement ratio. Service Life Evaluation Considering Height of RC Structures and Distance from Sea Shore (RC 구조물 높이와 해안가 거리를 고려한 염해에 대한 내구수명 평가)

  • For an evaluation of service life in RC(Reinforced Concrete) structures, deterministic method and probabilistic method considering random variables of design parameters are usually adopted. In the work, surface chloride contents which vary with distance from sea shore and height are investigated from the previous research literature surveys, and they are considered for service life estimation. Through the analysis, the probabilistic method shows much lower results, which is due to variations of design parameters and very low intended durability failure. In the deterministic method, the structures within 250m and higher than 60m are evaluated to be free from chloride attack. In the probabilistic method, those higher than 60m in all the region and higher than 40m and 250m from sea shore are evaluated to satisfy the service life.

A Simple Auto Calibration Method for CCD Camera With High Distortion Lens (왜곡율이 큰 렌즈가 부착된 CCD 카메라를 위한 간단한 자동 보정 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a simple auto calibration method for a CCD camera with wide an91e lens that causes high degree of distortion. We formulate a cubic warping equation for the relationship between the cross points on the distorted calibration target and the corresponding points from the standard grid image, and calibrate distorted images using the computed parameters. The experiment has been performed with the distorted images resulted from wide angle CCD camera. The experimental results show that the proposed method, in terms of the average and maximum distorted error, has higher accuracy than the existing methods because of maintaining the calibration ratio more than 95 percent. The proposed method is applicable to wide variety of images regardless a type of lens or distortion.

  • Content featuring next-generation weapons is continuously appearing in games and virtual reality. In the context of story development, the traces of a target's bullet marks are observed differently according to the unique characteristics of the rifle and bullet. Additionally, there is an example of using forensic ballistics to investigate crime by examining the traces of bullets. Understanding the relationship between the ballistic coefficient and cavity by ballistics is crucial during this process. This paper proposes a physics-based cavity simulation using the modified Bresenham's line algorithm, which can enhance realism in games and virtual reality. This simulation accurately models the trajectory of bullets and cavity formation upon impact, creating a more realistic representation of how bullets interact with materials. Overall, physics-based simulations can greatly enhance the realism and immersion of games and virtual reality experiences and can have applications in forensic investigations.

Study on the Improving Penetration Performance of Tungsten Heavy Alloy Penetrator by Heat Treatment (열처리 공정을 통한 텅스텐 중합금 관통자의 관통능력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • An Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot (APFSDS), which penetrates and sabotages the target by physical energy, consists of a general penetrator using Depleted Uranium (DU) or Tungsten Heavy Alloy (THA) but THA is preferable because of manufacturing and environmental issues. On a THA penetrator, the penetration performance is determined mainly by self-sharpening depending on the hardness and toughness of materials. In particular, the tensile strength and impact strength work as key factors. The correlation coefficient for the penetration performance of the tensile strength was 0.721 and the impact strength was -0.599. The improved penetration performance by additional heat treatment was proven experimentally. Therefore, maintaining elongation over 9 % and tensile strength over 123 kg/㎟ is desirable, and the impact strength should be less than 6.8 kg·m/㎠ for good penetration performance.

Assesment of Load and Resistance Factored Design Value for PHC Driven Pile (PHC 항타말뚝의 하중저항계수 산정)

  • Driving a prefabricated pile is the efficient construction method with low cost and excellent bearing capacity charateristics. But pile drinving method has often been changed to bored pile method with mechanical boring due to the unexpected problems occurred in the various domestic ground condition with landfill. So, pile driving method has more uncertainty than the Bored Pile method. This paper proposed LRFD design value which is one of limit states design method for the PHC driven pile used as building foundation to guarantee the reliable design with reduced uncertainty. This paper analysed 221 dynamic load test results(E.O.I.D : 93, Resrike : 128) and the different methods of estimating bearing design(Meyerhof method & SPT-CPT conversion method), and proposed LRFD value for each design reliability Index 2.33 and 3.0 for PHC driven pile. LRFD value of PHC driven pile represents 0.43~0.55 for Meyerhof method and 0.40~0.49 for SPT-CPT conversion method according to the deign reliability index.

Evaluation of Chloride Diffusion Behavior and Analysis of Probabilistic Service Life in Long Term Aged GGBFS Concrete (장기 재령 GGBFS 콘크리트의 염화물 확산 거동 평가 및 확률론적 염해 내구수명 해석)

  • In this study, three levels of W/B(Water to Binder) ratio (0.37, 0.42, 0.47) and substitution ratio of GGBFS (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) rate (0 %, 30 %, 50 %) were considered to perform RCPT (Rapid Chloride Diffusion Test) at the 1,095 aged day. Accelerated chloride diffusion coefficient and passed charge of each concrete mixture were assessed according to Tang's method and ASTM C 1202, and improving behaviors of durability performance with increasing aged days are analyzed based on the test results of previous aged days from the preceding study. As the age of concrete increases, the passed charge and diffusion coefficient have been significantly reduced, and especially the concrete specimens containing GGBFS showed a significantly more reduction than OPC(Ordinary Portland Cement) concrete specimen by latent hydraulic activity. In the case of OPC concrete's results of passed charge, at the 1,095 days, two of them were still in the "Moderate" class. So, if only OPC is used as the binder of concrete, the resistance performance for chloride attack is weak. In this study, the time-parameters (m) were derived based on the results of the accelerated chloride diffusion coefficient, and the deterministic and probabilistic analysis for service life were performed by assuming the design variable as a probability function. For probabilistic service life analysis, durability failure probabilities were calculated using Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) to evaluate service life. The service life of probabilistic method were lower than that of deterministic method, since the target value of PDF (Probability of Durability Failure) was set very low at 10 %. If the target value of PDF suitable for the purpose of using structure can be set and proper variability can be considered for each design variable, it is believed that more economical durability design can be made.
