  • In this study, with the purpose of fundamentally improving the unbalance response vibration of a large PRT motor-generator rotor by design, a performance improvement design analysis is carried-out by retrofitting tilting pad bearings, replacing the plain partial journal bearings that were originally applied for operation at a rated speed of 1,800 rpm. In this process, a goal of the design analysis is to obtain a design solution for maximizing the direct stiffness of the bearings while satisfying the key basic lubrication performance requirements such as the minimum lift-off speed and maximum oil-film temperature. The results show that with a careful design application of tilting pad journal bearings for operation at such a relatively low speed of 1,800 rpm, direct stiffness increment of the bearings by about two times can be effectively achieved. Prevention of pad unloading is also considered in the analysis. Moreover, the designs of elliptical and offset half journal bearings are also analyzed and reviewed.

Hydraulic Experiment for Pollutant Discharge Characteristics in a Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Port (월성원자력발전소의 항내 오염물 유출 특성에 관한 수리실험)

  • In this study, the dispersion process of pollutant substances in a port under wave and current environments was evaluated by a hydraulic experiment. Once the contaminants washed ashore into the port of Wolseong nuclear power plant, transport processes of pollutants were investigated by tracking the tracer according to the variations of experimental condition through a hydraulic experiment. Several hydraulic experiments were performed to analyze the pollutant discharge rate of the surface coming from the different coastal environments. From the hydraulic experiment results, the tracer concentration decreased exponentially. These results suggested that, after the tracer was transported to the open sea, a different gradient was shown under different conditions. For the case of a diluted condition, the half-life of flow rate was 2.70, 10.40, and 26.39 days for 30, 20 and 10 rpm in the left-side, respectively. The decrease of the tracer concentration under conditions of 30 rpm was much faster than that under conditions of 10 rpm. For the wave condition, the half-life of flow rate was 4.59 and 15.35 days for the right and left side of the port in a hydraulic scale prototype, respectively.

  • DME, a clean fuel that is being studied as an alternative fuel for diesel engines, can reduce exhaust gas, which is the one of the crucial problems of diesel engines, and has a very high cetane number and high oxygen content. DME is a fuel has properties similar with LPG and can use the infrastructure of LPG. In this study, The target was to build a database of basic data on the mass flow rate discharged for the performance evaluation of the plunger-type high pressure pump. In this study, the mass flow rate of the DME plunger type high pressure pump was analyzed by changing the common rail pressure and the motor rotation speed. The experimental conditions were the common rail pressure was changed from 300 to 500 bar and the motor rotation speed was changed from 300 to 1000 rpm. In addition, basic mass flow data were constructed to high-pressure pumps for DME. As a result of the experiment, in both cases the mass flow rate was increased.

  • Thin-type 초음파모터의 구조는 크로스형태의 앓은 스테이터에 윗면과 아랫면에 각각 8개의 압전세라믹이 부착된 형태이고, 압전세라믹의 분극방향은 로터와 접촉하는 스테이터의 중심부인 네 개의 타점에서 순차적인 타원변위가 생성되도록 결정된다. 유한요소해석프로그램인 ATILA 5.2.4를 사용하여 형태, 길이, 두께, 스테이터 재질, 클램프특성이 최적 설계된 모델을 제작하였고, 푸쉬풀 게이지, x-y 스테이지, rpm 메터, 토크 게이지, 맨코더, AD컨버터를 이용하여 피드백 제어 구동시스템을 구성하였다. 그림 I은 마이크로컨트롤러 (ATmega)와 피드백회로를 이용한 구동 드라이버를 보여준다. 한 주기에서 1/4분주의 순차적인 네 개의 구형파를 생성하고, 이를 push-pull회로를 통하여 90도의 위상차가 나는 정현파를 생성하여 초음파 모터의 구동전원으로 사용한다. 피드백 회로인 엔코더와 AD 컨버터는 초음파모터의 속도를 피드백하여 정속도 운전을 위한 전압제어에 사용되었다. 특성 측정 결과, 제품화된 드라이버와 비교하여 큰 차이를 보이지 않았고 피드백 회로를 통하여 부하변화에 따른 속도의 극심한 변화를 0.2~0.4[N]의 범위에서 정속도 운전이 가능하였으며, 장시간의 운전에도 온도 및 속도특성이 안정적임을 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50,000rpm and feedrate of 120m/fin. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motors and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guides. The thermal characteristics such as the temperature distribution, temperature rise, thermal deformation and step response, are estimated based on the finite element model of machining center and the heat generation rates of heat sources related to the machine operation conditions. Especially, the thermal time constant assessed from the step response function is introduced as an index of thermal response characteristics.

  • 본 논문에서는 카메라폰용 광학줌(Optical zooming)과 자동초점조절장치(Auto Focusing,AF)에 쓰일 초음파모터를 제작하였다. 초음파모터의 제작 및 시뮬레이션은 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ATILA 5.2 1(Magsoft co.)를 사용하여 디자인설계에 따른 구동특성을 고찰하였고 제작된 초음파모터는 한쪽 면이 없는 사작형의 탄성체를 제작하였으며 탄성체의 양쪽 다리에 각각 압전체를 부착하였다 또한 압전세라익의 조성은 0.9Pb$(Zr_{0.51}Ti_{0.49})O_3$ - 0.1Pb$(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{1/3}Sb_{1/3})O_3$ 의 조성으로 설계하였고 시편의 제조는 7-layer로 적층하였다. 제작된 압전세라믹의 치수는 6*2*0.35mm$^3$(길이*폭*두께)로 제작하였다. 또한 탄성체의 외형치수는 8*4*2mm$^3$로 제작하였으며 회전축의 지름은 2mm로 제작하였다. 인가전압과 공진주파수가 각각 20Vpp, 64kHz일 때 소비전력은 0.3[W]이며 회전속도는 500rpm 으로 측정되었다.

  • Recently the research on artificial intelligence is actively processing in the fields of diagnosis and prediction. In this paper, we acquire the data of electrical current, revolution per minute (RPM) and vibration that is occurred in the motor and pump where hey are installed in the industrial fields. We train the acquired data by using the k-nearest neighbors. Also, we propose the status diagnosis methods that judges normal and abnormal status of motor and pump by using the trained data. As a proposed result, we confirm that normal status and abnormal status are well judged.

AN EVALUATION OF ROTATIONAL STABILITY IN ENDODONTIC ELECTRONIC MOTORS (근관치료용 전기모터의 회전 안정성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate a rotational stability of endodontic electronic motors by comparing the changes of rotational speed, depending on the number of usages and with/without static load. Twelve new endodontic electronic motors were used in this study. Non contact type digital tachometer was used for measuring the rotational speed of handpiece. True RMS Multimeter was used for measuring the voltages and the electric currents. All measurements were recorded every 10 seconds during 10 minutes and repeated 9 times. Five repetition was done per each electronic motor. To statistical analysis, student t-test, repeated measures and Scheffe's post-hoc tests were performed. In the same motor group, there was no significant difference in all measurements. In all groups, there was no significant difference in the amount of rotational speed changes depending on the number of usages and with/without static load. In the limitation of this study, the results showed that all kinds of endodontic electronic motors in this study had an established rotational stability. Therefore they could be safely used in root canal treatment with a reliable maintenance of rotational speed, regardless of the number of usages and with/without load.

A Study on the development of Explosion-proof type's the terminal box of the ventilator with the control of wind volume and operating time (풍량 및 운전시간 제어 방폭 배풍기 인버터 단자함 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis is about the study of inverter terminal boxes in a explosion proof type exhaust fan that can control wind volume and operating time. In Korea, there is no ventilator to adjust the amount of wind and operating time when working in poor conditions. The purpose of the project is to create a explosion terminal box that can control the operating time and wind speed of a suitable explosion ventilator in hazardous environments. The two explosion-proof switches allow the operation time to be driven 1 hour, 3 hours and continuous time, and the speed of the induction motor rotation was set in 3 stages at 2000 rpm, 2600 rpm and 3000 rpm to control the volume. The tested motor used a half-horsepower barrier three-phase induction motor and a full-bridge inverter to set the desired flow rate and operating time.
