This study explored the concept of context-aware computing and its application to the library and information services. Context-aware computing represents mobile computing techniques which gather, analyze user's contextual information and provide appropriate information services for the specific user. The idea was proposed in the late 90's but it was not widely available to the public because of the technology limitation. Recent technology development made context-aware computing possible to apply to our everyday-life information seeking using smart phone and showed the usefulness of its application. This study introduced the concept of context-aware computing with some examples of it, and finally tried to propose some of its applications to the library and information services.

The high portability and mobility of mobile devices have given rise to critical concerns with regard to mobile situation-aware services that utilize user situation information in the mobile domain. Mobile situation-aware services for mobile devices are provided by collecting and analyzing data, from which the user situation is inferred through an inference system. However, the high mobility of the mobile domain has made it difficult to infer the required results. In addition, previous studies have not identified a systematic approach to modifying and adapting. In this paper, we propose a systematic feedback process model based on software cybernetics in order to address the abovementioned problems. Further, we propose a MADA(Monitoring, Analysis, Determinating, Adaptation) framework for the feedback process model. Thus, the proposed approach supports the development of self-adaptive mobile situation-aware services that can infer appropriate results and manage the inferred results systematically.

현재 모바일폰을 통해 휴대전화와 무전기 기능을 접목한 PTT 서비스, 커뮤니티 서비스, 카메라폰 응용 서비스, LBS 활용 서비스 및 웰빙 관련 서비스를 비롯해 기존 서비스의 융합 형태인 컨버전스 서비스들이 제공되고 있으며, 사용자의 다양한 요구를 반영하며 끊임없이 진화하고 있다. 앞으로 차세대 이동통신망 중심의 융합 및 이동 단말의 컴퓨팅 능력이 고도화되면 언제, 어디서나, 누구와도 모든 정보를 이용할 수 있는 고속 멀티미디어 통신 환경 즉, 유비쿼터스 환경이 구축될 것이며 향후 이러한 환경에서의 모바일 서비스는 특정 시점의 사용자 상황에 적절한 서비스를 제공하는 상황인식의 특성을 가지게 될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 제공되고 있는 다양한 모바일 서비스의 동향을 분석하고, 향후 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 주요 모바일 서비스로서 상황인식 서비스를 제시하고 수행중인 관련 연구 및 가능한 응용 서비스를 살펴본다.

The service supporting structure for users in ubiquitous computing environment requires technology that divides efficiently resources shared around users according to users context. So, needs research that analyze service items and resources that is offered according to users context information and divide adaptively necessary service and resources. Therefore, in this paper we proposes an intelligent P2P mobile agent that recognizes users context using portable mobile devices and is available for intelligent service by sharing serviced item according to users' context. The proposed structure removes monopoly for specific resources, and supports effective users context-awareness and service.

모바일 정보 서비스의 수용성에는 사용자 인터페이스가 중요한 요소이다. 특히 모바일 인터페이스에서 청자(listner)인 인간에게 화자(speaker)인 기계가 어떻게 시의적절한 대화를 하는가는 수용성에 중요한 요소임에도 불구하고 아직까지 이에 대한 본격적인 연구가 진행되지 못했다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 사용자의 상황을 인식한 존대등분 계산법을 제안하여 이에 근거한 시의적절한 대화를 지원하는 상황 인식형 모바일 인터페이스를 설계하도록 하는 것이다. 다만 존대등분 계산은 문화별 및 언어별로 차이가 날 수 있으므로, 한국어를 대상으로 계산법을 제안하려고 한다.

상품 판매장에서 많은 상품을 판매하기 위해서는 매장 내에서 구매자 행동과 상품 배치 등 매상에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인을 파악할 필요가 있다. 또한 모바일 커머스 어플리케이션에서 각 구매자들이 구입할 상품을 효과적으로 찾을 수 있는 추천상품 서비스의 필요성도 점차 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다치 오토마타를 이용하여 매장 내에서 구매자 행동과 상품 배치 등을 파악함과 동시에 각 구매자들이 구입할 상품을 상황의 변화에 따라 효과적으로 추천할 수 있도록 지원하는 상황인식 기반 모바일 구매 서비스 모델을 제안한다.

The development of mobile devices and the spread of wireless network help share and exchange information and resources more easily. The bond them to Cloud Computing technology help pay attention to "Mobile Cloud" service, so there have been being a lot of studies on "Mobile Cloud" service. Especially, the important of 'Personalization Service' which is customized for each user's preference and context has been increasing. In order to provide appropriate personalization services, it enables to recognize user's current state, analyze the user's profile like user's tendency and preference, and draw the service answering the user's request. Most existing frameworks, however, are not very suitable for mobile devices because they were proposed on the web-based. And other context information except location information among user's context information are not much considered. Therefore, this paper proposed the context-aware framework, which provides more suitable services by using user's context and profile.

Recommender services are being used by an ever-increasing number of mobile commerce applications to help consumers find items to purchase with the use of the situated contexts. In this paper, we propose a new leveled recommendation for context-aware mobile commerce. This enables a consumer to obtain relevant information efficiently by using leveled recommendation, patterns and prefetching. This paper describes the method and application scenarios. Several experiments are performed and the results verify that the proposed method's recommendation performance is better than other existing methods.

모바일 환경이 발전하고 보편화됨에 따라 사용자의 상황정보를 인식하고 추론하여 서비스를 제공하는 상황인식 서비스에 대해 관심이 높아지고 있다. 상황인식 서비스는 사용자 및 주변 환경의 상황을 알아내고 공유하여 그에 맞는 서비스를 제공한다. 이를 위한 상황정보는 사용자의 요구와 주변 상황이 수시로 변화하는 이동통신 환경에서 중요하게 활용된다. 본 논문에서는 컨텍스트의 수집과 공유를 위해 안드로이드 기반의 컨텍스트폰 플랫폼과 컨텍스트 서버를 구현하여 사용자 상황 정보를 시각화 하고 서로 공유할 수 있게 하였다. 상황인식에 대한 연구에는 주로 위치 및 이동에 관한 연구가 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는데, 위치정보는 상황인식을 위해 반드시 필요한 정보이며 이를 통해 사용자의 현재 상황을 파악할 수 있는 중요한 정보로 활용되고 있다. 안드로이드 기반의 컨텍스트폰 플랫폼과 컨텍스트 서버, GPS를 이용하여 사용자의 위치를 추적하거나 찾아내어 실시간으로 상대방의 위치 정보와 사용자 간의 거리를 알아내어 공유하고 맵을 통해 사용자 위치를 파악하여 위치와 관련된 서비스를 제공하려 한다.

빠른 속도로 확산되고 있는 모바일 기기는 카메라, GPS, RFID 등과 같은 다양한 센서를 장착하고 Wi-Fi, WiMAX, WiBro 등의 무선 네트워크를 지원하는 형태로 발전하고 있다. 이러한 발전으로 사용자는 언제 어디서나 주변의 컴퓨팅 자원을 이용할 수 있게 되었고 모바일 기기의 서비스는 주변의 센서 또는 임베디드 컴퓨팅 장치로부터 수집되는 다양한 주변 환경 정보와 시스템 상태정보, 네트워크 상황정보 등의 디지털 정보를 이용하여 주변상황인식(context awareness)이 가능한 스마트 서비스로 발전하고 있다. 주변상황인식을 위하여 서비스는 주변에 존재하는 다양한 장치를 효율적으로 검색하고 이질적인(Heterogeneous) 장치와 정보의 표현 및 전송에 대한 호환성이 필요하다. 이러한 문제는 규격화된 프레임워크의 사용으로 해결할 수 있으며 상황정보의 관리 기능을 추가하여 서비스 개발의 생산성을 높일 수 있다 본 논문에서는 모바일 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황정보의 제공과 사용에 적합한 프레임워크로서 MoCE(Mobile Context Exploerer) 아키텍처를 설계하였다. MoCE 는 상황정보의 수집, 변환, 분류, 통합 등의 기능을 제공하고 모바일 환경의 특성에 기인한 상황정보 발견 및 전송 프로토콜을 설계하여 사용하고 있다. 또한 Surround multiCam 서비스 예제를 구현하여 제안한 아키텍처의 안정성 및 성능을 실험하였다.
