Determination of Design Moments in Bridges Constructed by Movable Scaffolding System (MSS공법으로 시공되는 교량의 설계 모멘트 결정)

  • In this paper, a relation to calculate design moments for reinforced concrete(RC) bridges constructed by movable scaffolding system(MSS) is introduced. Through the time-dependent analysis of RC bridges considering the construction sequence, the structural responses related to the member forces and deflections are reviewed, and a governing equation for determination of the design moment, which includes the creep deformation, is derived on the basis of the displacement-force condition at every constructuion stage. By using the relation, the design moment and its variation over time can easily be obtained only with the elastic analysis results without additional time-dependent analysis. In addition, correlation studies with the results by rigorous numerical analyses are conducts to verify the applicability of the introduced relation, and a more reasonable guideline for the determination of design moments is proposed on the basis of the obtained moment envelop.

  • Monte-Carlo simulation technique is often used in order to predict service life of concrete structure subjected to chloride penetration in marine environment based on probability theory. Monte-Carlo simulation method, however, the method gives different results every time that the simulation is run. On the other hand, moment method, which is frequently used in reliability analysis, needs negligible computational cost compared with simulation technique and gives a constant result for the same problem. Thus, in this study, moment method was applied to the calculation of corrosion-initiation probability. For this purpose, computer programs to calculate failure probabilities are developed using first-order second moment (FOSM) and second-order second moment (SOSM) methods, respectively. From the analysis examples with the developed programs, SOSM was found to give a more accurate result than FOSM does. The sensitivity analysis has shown that the factor affecting the corrosion-initiation probability the most was the cover depth, and the corrosion-initiation probability was influenced more by its coefficient of variation than its mean value.

  • A statistical approach was carried out to analyze joint moments acting on the six subjects performing a right-handed seated task. The dynamic task analyzed consisted of moving a hand-held weight of lkg mass back and forth in front of a subject's chest at the shoulder level in an upright seated position. We used experimental data obtained in the Biomechanics Laboratory of the University of Michigan. Based on the acquired data from three trials by each subject, moments were calculated using a 3-dimensional biomechanical model at such articulations as wrist, elbow, shoulder, the third lumbar spine, hip, knee, and ankle joints. The linear correlation and the two way analysis of variance were applied to the calculated joint moments in order to investigate inter-subject and inter-trial varations. The results obtained showed that the largest magnitude and deviation of moment was found at the third lumbar spine, that any linear relationship could not be found between moment and its equivalents attempted in this study, and that the maximum value and deviation of moment acting on each joint were statistically the same for all three trials but those were statistically not the same for all six subjects.

An Experiment Study on Sideslip Angle Effect of Lambda Wing Configuration (람다 날개 형상의 옆미끄럼각 효과에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • An experimental study on aerodynamic coefficients of a lambda wing configuration was performed at the low speed wind tunnel of Agency for Defense Development. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of sideslip angle on various aerodynamic coefficients. In the case of $0^{\circ}C$ sideslip angle, nose-up pitching moment rapidly increases at a specific angle of attack. This unstable pitching moment characteristic is referred to as pitch break or pitch up. As the sideslip angle increases, the pitch break is found to be generated at a higher angle of attack. Rolling moment is found to show similar behavior pattern to 'pitch break' style with angle of attack at non-zero sideslip angles. This trend gets severer at greater sideslip angles. Yawing moment also shows substantial variation of the slope and the unstable directional stability with sideslip angles at higher angles of attack. These characteristics of the three moments clearly implies the difficulty of the flight control which requires efficient control augmentation system.

Response Characteristics of the Steel Moment Resisting Frame According to the Stiffness Variation of Pontoo (플로팅 함체의 강성변화에 따른 철골모멘트연성골조의 응답 특성)

  • To examine the interaction of the floating pontoon with a steel moment resisting frame, the static structural analysis is carried out, in which the pressure load are calculated from the forgoing fluid dynamic analysis, varying the period of wave from 3 to 15 second and for 3 cases of depth of pontoon, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5m. As results, it has shown that RAO-pitch has the linear relationship with the increase of moment of the frame and the curvature of pontoon is reversely proportional to the stiffness of pontoon. By synthesizing these results, an estimation method is proposed, which predicts the moment of frame of the different depth of pontoon based on the analysis result of an arbitrary depth of a floating pontoon. The estimation result shows considerably good agreement, compared with the analysis result.

  • 본 연구에서는 GEV분포형에 패해 L-모멘트법을 적용하여 추정된 지점빈도 설계강우량의 변동추이가 관측년수변화에 따라 어떠한 변동추이를 나타내는지를 규명함으로써 향후 수리시설물의 설계방향모색에 도움이 되고자 한다. 현재 우리나라는 수리시설물의 설계나 관리시에 PMP, PMF 또는 빈도별 설계수문량 등을 이용하고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 수문량들은 매년 관측되는 수문관측치들에 의해서 매번 변하고 있으며 또한 이러한 변화의 양상과 크기는 각 지점별로 매우 다양하게 나타나고 있다. 이로인해, 수리시설물의 설계 및 관리시 관측 지점별로 매우 상이한 설계수문량을 제시하기도 하며 특정관측자료로 인해 설계수문량이 급변하는 등 많은 혼란을 초래하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 현재 관측지점별로 나타나고 있는 설계수문량의 변화양상을 분석함으로써 추후에 변화될 설계수문량의 양상 예측이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 우리나라 전역에 걸쳐 기록년수가 가장 긴 강릉, 서울, 인천, 추풍령, 포항, 대구, 전주, 울산, 광주, 부산, 목포 및 여수기상대의 총 12개소를 선정하여 해당 기상대의 24시간 최대강우량을 대상으로 지점빈도분석을 실시한다. 지점빈도분석시 적용된 분포형과 매개변수추정법은 최근 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 GEV분포형과 L-모멘트법을 적용한다. 또한. 최종결론은 설계수문량의 양상을 형태별로 분류하고 형태에 따른 특성들과 예상되는 현상들에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

  • This study has ben conducted to investigate the effect of the number of bolts on stiffness and strength of a double-angle connection and to propose two simplified models that can predict the initial stiffness and ultimate connection moment of a double-angle connection, respectively. In adition, we also aim to provide some basic reference data for structural designers to choose the most adequate prediction equation and to more precisely double-angle connection.

  • 확률강우량 산정은 수공구조물의 설계에 있어서 중요한 과정이다. 확률강우량을 산정함에 있어 지난 수십년간 모멘트법, 최우도법, 확률가중모멘트법, 그리고 L-모멘트법 등의 매개변수적 방법이 발달되어 적용되어 왔다. 매개변수적 빈도해석 방법은 그 적용성이 여러 연구를 통해 검정되었지만 가정한 확률분포와 매개변수 추정방법에 따라 확률강우량이 달라지며 강우지속시간과 기후변화 등에 따른 분포의 변동성을 고려해야 하는 단점이 있다. 매개변수적 빈도해석 방법의 단점을 극복하기 위하여 최근에 핵밀도함수 등을 포함한 다양한 비매개변수적 빈도해석 방법이 제안되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 서울기상관측소의 지난 50년간 지속시간 24시간 강우량을 바탕으로 수자원 분야에서 다양하게 적용된 바가 있는 인공신경망 기법과 대표적인 매개변수적 빈도해석 방법인 L-모멘트법을 이용하여 확률강우량을 산정하고 비교하였다. 그 결과 인공신경망 기법은 전통적인 매개변수방법의 하나인 L-모멘트법 보다 확률강우량 산정에 있어서 높은 정확도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

Image Retrieval Using Entropy Features (엔트로피 특징을 이용한 영상검색)

  • 본 논문에서는 웨이브렛 영역에서 엔트로피 특징과 웨이브렛 모멘트의 융합에 의한 효율적인 영상기법을 제안한다. 엔트로피 특징은 밝기값의 국부적 변화도에 민감하고 밸리, 에지 등의 특징을 잘 검출한다. 이러한 특징을 주파수 대역별로 구해지는 웨이브렛 모멘트와 잘 융합하여 내용기반 영상검색에 효과적으로 적용하였다. 제안한 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위한 시험영상 DB로는 Corel Draw Photo 영상을 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 제안한 방법으로 구한 검색율이 기존의 웨이브렛 모멘트로 구한 검색율보다 11%이상 향상되어 매우 우수한 검색 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 플라잉 디스크를 이용하여 회전 운동의 유무에 따른 공력특성의 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 회전 운동이 발생하면 표면에 비대칭적으로 압력이 분포하기 때문에 롤링 모멘트가 발생하고 마그너스 효과로 측력이 발생하고 피칭모멘트, 회전감쇠모멘트가 발생하고 롤 안정성이 증가한다.
